Hero: Bo Black
Heroine: Mel Anderson
Grade: 4.5 out of 5
THIS JUST IN: HELL’S OFFICIALLY BREAKING LOOSE
It’s bad enough that gutsy pilot Mel Anderson has to clean up after her lovable but completely disorganized best friend and business partner, Dimi, while her certifiable employees make more work than they do. Now, the one man she hoped she’d never see is back and looking for trouble. Scratch that, he is trouble. Amazing, holy cow, more please trouble.
Bo Black wants his family’s airport back, and he’s determined to get it. This laid-back Aussie is nobody’s fool. Thing is, neither is Mel. She’s intense. Uptight. Sexy. And very, very tempting. Suddenly, Bo’s thinking less about revenge and more about kissing and touching and falling into a fly-by-the-seat-of-your-underpants kind of forever love.
This title by Jill Shalvis is being republished and because I’m the Jill Shalvis fan girl that I am, I just had to read this one and once again, I was not disappointed. I loved Mel and Bo’s story.
Jill Shalvis does such a great job of writing straight up contemporary novels. Novels that are filled with lots of laughter, fast paced action and steamy romances. She hit this one out of the park for me as well because I really enjoyed getting to know Mel and I really, really enjoyed getting to know Bo Black.
I’ve never read a hero by the name of Bo before and this Bo was extremely HOT. That Australian accent totally did me in. I loved that he was this put together kind of guy and then he meets the heroine and everything is not so put together in his head the way he thought. I loved how he wasn’t expecting this big love affair with the woman who took over after Sally left the fold. I really enjoyed getting to know Bo and I felt his grief over the loss of his father and I really cheered him on in this book. I love how he fell in love with Mel and I really enjoyed the scene where he realizes that he’s not falling in love with Mel, he IS in love with Mel. It was too cute for words. He was too cute for words and I really, really like him.
Mel was a great heroine, one who had too many burdens to carry, who had been carrying those burdens for far too long and I was only too happy to have Bo come in and shoulder some of her burden for her. I loved how Bo stepped in and brought customers to the airport, I loved how he came in and even though he didn’t plan on staying, I loved how he came to love the airport just as much as Mel did and I loved how Mel’s world came to be his world too.
These two were great together and I really enjoyed them as a couple.
I also enjoyed the other characters in this story. Char and Al? Too cute for words and the two college kids were adorable in their own ways and then Danny. Yum. Love me some surfer dudes and I loved Danny. I really enjoyed Dimi’s character and I enjoyed reading her journey to self worth and I enjoyed Danny’s part in it. They were another reason I enjoyed this story so much because Danny was so great with Dimi, the way he was always there for her was great.
Jill Shalvis does a great job of making me laugh and make me smile and all that other goodness, she wrote a great romance about two people who hated each other and grew to love each other and I would recommend this book to those who are looking for something light and easy to read, as with all of Jill’s other books, this one is another winner!
This book is available from Kensington. You can buy it here or here in e-format.
This book has been on my list since I found out about it’s re-release over on Jill’s blog. Unfortunately, I’ve not been able to pick it up yet, but now I’m going to make a point of doing so.
I love this book. It’s one of my favorites by Jill.
