Another month, another list of upcoming releases that I’m looking forward to. Let’s get on with it already, shall we?
1. Bloody Valentine by Melissa De La Cruz.
Vampires have powers beyond human comprehension: strength that defies logic, speed that cannot be captured on film, the ability to shapeshift and more. But in matters of the heart, no one, not even the strikingly beautiful and outrageously wealthy Blue Bloods, has total control. In Bloody Valentine, bestselling author Melissa de la Cruz offers readers a new story about the love lives of their favorite vamps – the passion and heartache, the hope and devastation, the lust and longing. Combined with all the glitz, glamour, and mystery fans have come to expect, this is sure to be another huge hit in the Blue Bloods series.
It’s another Blue Bloods book, of course I want it!
Okay, I couldn’t find a blurb for this anywhere but if I remember correctly from something that I read on Rachel’s blog, this is a free novella that she’s putting out to tell Tod’s story of how he died and how he was recruited to become a Reaper…and really, all you had to say was that this was a Tod story and I was there. Now, I know that this is only a novella so it’s going to be super short and leave me wanting more but still…it’s TOD you guys, how can you not be excited??? Woo freaking hoo! Bring on the Reaper love!
After reading My Soul to Steal (review to be posted closer to the release date), I’m as anxious for more from this group of people as the next person.
Jazz . . . Booze . . . Boys . . . It’s a dangerous combination.
Every girl wants what she can’t have. Seventeen-year-old Gloria Carmody wants the flapper lifestyle—and the bobbed hair, cigarettes, and music-filled nights that go with it. Now that she’s engaged to Sebastian Grey, scion of one of Chicago’s most powerful families, Gloria’s party days are over before they’ve even begun . . . or are they?
Clara Knowles, Gloria’s goody-two-shoes cousin, has arrived to make sure the high-society wedding comes off without a hitch—but Clara isn’t as lily-white as she appears. Seems she has some dirty little secrets of her own that she’ll do anything to keep hidden. . . .
Lorraine Dyer, Gloria’s social-climbing best friend, is tired of living in Gloria’s shadow. When Lorraine’s envy spills over into desperate spite, no one is safe. And someone’s going to be very sorry. . . .
From debut author Jillian Larkin, VIXEN is the first novel in the sexy, dangerous, and ridiculously romantic new series set in the Roaring Twenties . . . when anything goes.
This book looks like it’d be a different but delightful read. I’m most curious about it which is why it’s on my wish list for this month.
4. Anna and the French Kiss by Stephanie Perkins.
Anna is looking forward to her senior year in Atlanta, where she has a great job, a loyal best friend, and a crush on the verge of becoming more. Which is why she is less than thrilled about being shipped off to boarding school in Paris—until she meets Étienne St. Claire: perfect, Parisian (and English and American, which makes for a swoon-worthy accent), and utterly irresistible. The only problem is that he’s taken, and Anna might be, too, if anything comes of her almost-relationship back home.
As winter melts into spring, will a year of romantic near-misses end with the French kiss Anna—and readers—have long awaited?
I’ve been waiting for this book for like ever and it’s finally coming out. I so want to read this book, more so now that I’ve been reading such good things about it all over blogland. Yay!
5. Fixing Delilah by Sarah Ockler.
Things in Delilah Hannaford’s life have a tendency to fall apart. She used to be a good student, but she can’t seem to keep it together anymore. Her “boyfriend” isn’t much of a boyfriend. And her mother refuses to discuss the fight that divided their family eight years ago. Falling apart, it seems, is a Hannaford tradition. Over a summer of new friendships, unexpected romance, and moments that test the complex bonds between mothers and daughters, Delilah must face her family’s painful past. Can even her most shattered relationships be pieced together again? Rich with emotion, Sarah Ockler delivers a powerful story of family, love, and self-discovery.
Ever since I finished Twenty Boy Summer by Sarah Ockler, I’ve been itching to get this one as well. It looks like it’d be another good book to get lost in and I’m really looking forward to reading it.
6. My Soul to Steal by Rachel Vincent.
YOU WANT MY SOUL AND MY BOYFRIEND? Trying to work things out with Nash—her maybe boyfriend—is hard enough for Kaylee Cavanaugh. She can’t just pretend nothing happened. But “complicated” doesn’t even begin to describe their relationship when his ex-girlfriend transfers to their school, determined to take Nash back. See, Sabine isn’t just an ordinary girl. She’s a mara, the living personification of a nightmare. She can read people’s fears—and craft them into nightmares while her victims sleep. Feeding from human fear is how she survives. And Sabine isn’t above scaring Kaylee and the entire school to death to get whatever—and whoever—she wants. I DON’T THINK SO.
I know, I’ve already read this one but still, it’s exciting that it’s finally coming out in the bookstores. Woo hoo, TEAM KAYLEE! =)
7. Fall for Anything by Courtney Summers.
When Eddie Reeves’s father commits suicide her life is consumed by the nagging question of why? Why when he was a legendary photographer and a brilliant teacher? Why when he seemed to find inspiration in everything he saw? And, most important, why when he had a daughter who loved him more than anyone else in the world? When she meets Culler Evans, a former student of her father’s and a photographer himself, an instant and dangerous attraction begins. Cullen seems to know more about her father than she does and could possibly hold the key to the mystery surrounding his death. But Eddie’s vulnerability has weakened her and Culler Evans is getting too close. Her need for the truth keeps her hanging on…but are some questions better left unanswered?
I did a book watch for this one a few months ago and I’m super curious about this book so I’ll be getting it soon and devouring it, I’m sure. Can’t wait!
8. Real live boyfriends. Yes, boyfriends plural. If my life weren’t complicated, I wouldn’t be Ruby Oliver by E. Lockhart.
Ruby Oliver, the neurotic, hyperverbal heroine of the The Boyfriend List, The Boy Book, and The Treasure Map of Boys, is back! Ruby Oliver is in love. Or it would be love, if Noel, her real live boyfriend, would call her back. But Noel seems to have turned into a pod-robot lobotomy patient, and Ruby can’t figure out why. Not only is her romantic life a shambles: Her dad is eating nothing but Cheetos, Her mother’s got a piglet head in the refrigerator, Hutch has gone to Paris to play baguette air guitar, Gideon shows up shirtless, And the pygmy goat Robespierre is no help whatsoever. Will Ruby ever control her panic attacks? Will she ever understand boys? Will she ever stop making lists? (No to that last one.) Roo has lost most of her friends. She’s lost her true love, more than once. She’s lost her grandmother, her job, her reputation, and possibly her mind. But she’s never lost her sense of humor. The Ruby Oliver books are the record of her survival.
I didn’t read the first book in this series but it still looks like something I’d enjoy so I’m going to put this on my wishlist!
9. Rhymes with Cupid by Anna Humphrey.
Goodman’s Gifts & Stationery Store February 14 Cashier: Elyse 3 boxes of heart-shaped chocolate . . . $12.00 Chocolate is the only good thing about this nauseating holiday. 4 containers of candy hearts . . . $5.00 Ever since my ex cheated on me, I’ve sworn off love. Too bad my new neighbor Patrick didn’t get the memo. 1 Valentine’s Day card . . . $4.50 I’m not interested. Although, he is pretty cute. And sweet. And funny. 1 singing Cupid doll (promotional item) . . . $0.00 Stupid Cupid! Point your arrows at someone else. . . . Subtotal . . . $21.50 It’s going to be a complicated Valentine’s Day.
This book sounds cute and I totally want to read it!
10. Maine Squeeze by Catherine Clark.
Two irresistible and hilarious love stories (and really cute boys)!
In Maine Squeeze, eighteen-year-old Colleen Templeton can’t wait for summer. She’s going to share a house with her best friends, earn money for college, and spend every free moment with her boyfriend, Ben. It’s the perfect plan. At least until she discovers that she’s going to be working side by side with Evan, the guy she dated last summer—the best summer of her life . . . until he broke her heart. Will Colleen be able to keep her cool when this summer starts heating up?
Courtney Von Dragen Smith didn’t plan on being single her senior year. But in Banana Splitsville, thanks to her now-ex-boyfriend Dave, single is exactly what she is. And miserable. That’s okay, though, because she has a plan: steer clear of boys for the rest of high school. Oh, and stick to a new vegan diet. But it turns out that ignoring all guys (well, really one guy in particular) is about as hard as keeping away from sundaes when you work at Truth or Dairy. Is Courtney falling in love again? (With more than that dish of scrumptious ice cream?)
Another one that sounds like it’d be uber cute and I’m okay with reading short stories every once in a while so I’m all about this one. I want!
11. Falling in Love with English Boys by Melissa Jansen.
Sixteen-year-old Catherine Vernon has been stranded in London for the summer—no friends, no ex-boyfriend Adam the Scum (good riddance!), and absolutely nothing to do but blog about her misery to her friends back home. Desperate for something—anything—to do in London while her (s)mother’s off researching boring historical things, Cat starts reading the 1815 diary of Katherine Percival her mom gives her—and finds the similarities between their lives to be oddly close. But where Katherine has the whirls of the society, the parties and the gossip over who is engaged to who, Cat’s only got some really excellent English chocolate. Then she meets William Percival—the uber-hot descendant of Katherine—and things start looking up . . .
Another book that sounds super cute and this one is set in London? Yeah, bring on the British cuties! =)
Now that you see what’s on MY wishlist, show me what’s on yours, yeah?
..and that’s your scoop!
