Moving from cattle drive to cattle drive as a cook, she avoids her tormentor for nearly twenty years. When she discovers that the brother she gave up for adoption after their mother died in childbirth was orphaned at an early age, she is frantic to verify that he’s safe. She tracks him to a cattle ranch in Montana.

Widower Adam Morgan owns the Twin Springs ranch, but finds himself falling into a life of loneliness. Although he enjoys spending time with his grown daughter and the two men he rescued when they were living on the streets, he longs to meet a woman he can love. Living in the Montana territory where men greatly outnumber women makes finding a new wife difficult. Weary of working cattle, he is ready to make some changes in his life.

Grace falls ill on her journey, but she manages to make it to the Twin Springs ranch where her brother is supposed to be living. Adam takes her in, concerned for her health and the reason she’s searching for one of his adopted sons. Their chemistry is immediate and intense, but can Grace heal from her past of pain and fear? Depends on my mood for the most part they aren’t what I first pick up but I have read several and it depends on how much the author makes me want to check it out I feel the same about paranormal books!

I love historicals, but I haven’t read a lot of them set in the west. It’s a fairly new sub-genre for me and I’m interested in reading more. Thanks for visiting.

I like western romances, but I haven’t read one in ages. There used to be a lot of them, but then publishers only wanted regencies.

I watched Bonanza as a kid and western historicals are the only kind of historicals I read. (I am a contemp gal).

  5. I love them! Used to spend my weekend with my papa watching all the westerns. Started my adult love of reading with “half-breed” romances. I’m born and raised in Texas. So western is in my blood!

  6. I love Western Historicals…My photo was taken when I was on vacation in AZ. My two favorite stops: Tombstobe & Old Tucson Studios. I loved the sheer volume of history that was in 2 miles. OTS was awesome. To get to see where a lot of my favorite shows & movies was filmed growing up was beyond words. It brought out a love of western history in my daughter too. They have a list of all the things ever filmed there and she’s on a quest to watch them all. Her first was Tombstone & she kept saying there’s the ____, we saw that on vacation. I’ll be honest & say I didn’t want to go to OTS, but really enjoyed it once there.

I like westerns. I used to read them a lot. I haven’t read many in the last few years, but have thought about getting back into them.

It’s not one that I’ve read a lot of, but I enjoy many types of genres. Also, I was a fan of Westerns on TV when growing up.

I enjoy most historical romances, westerns being fun because they tend to involve people from a less exalted station in life (think Regency England). It also seems that the women in western stories are a bit more independent

I love western romances! I love the open country, and cowboys/ranchers, where men work hard for all they have, and women can’t be a delicate, wilting flower. There’s a sense of loyalty and ruggedness that isn’t found in books located in the city.

  11. Celine

I haven’t read a lot of western romances, but the Lorraine Heath ones I’ve read have made me interested in checking out more of them. I’m always looking for plots/settings that are different from the norm.

  12. Kathleen O

I like them very much. Some of my favorite movies are Westerns, as well as a host of TV shows from my Youth.
