Amy Michaels loves her new life in Lucky Harbor. A waitress in the local diner, she’s looking forward to her first weekend hike through the mountains. But when a wrong turn takes her off the trail, she finds herself up close and personal with forest ranger Matt Bowers. And even though she’s tempted to kiss that sexy smile right off his face, she won’t make the mistake of getting involved with the town heartthrob.

A former cop whose life went south, Matt doesn’t let anyone get too close. But something about the feisty beauty caught his eye the moment he first saw her in the diner. After a hot night under a starry sky, Matt can’t deny their attraction-or the fact that for the first time in a long time, he feels the stirrings of something more. Now it’s up to Matt to help Amy see that, no matter what is in their past, together they can build a future in Lucky Harbor.

Amy is one tough cookie. She’s had to fend for herself since she was 16 and has not had it easy. She’s been in Lucky Harbor for 6 months and has met some wonderful people – 2 of them being Mallory and Grace and together the three of them make up the Chocoholics. They get together, bitch, have fun, eat chocolate and interfere in each others lives. 🙂 They managed to get Mallory to be a bad girl when she was considered the good girl of LH so now it’s time to make Amy, who it the resident bad girl, be good. While doing this they manage to push Ranger Matt Bowers straight into her life. But Amy doesn’t want a man in her life. She wants to follow her grandmothers journal, which brought her to LH and maybe she’ll find what her grandmother found when she was here – hope, peace and heart.

Matt loves Lucky Harbor. He loves the peace and quiet he finds there and he loves his job. Yeah, there are those times when he just wants to bonk some people on their heads for being stupid but overall he has a pretty good life. He was in the military and then on a SWAT team in Chicago and his life back then was anything but peaceful. The last thing he wants to do now that he’s a bit grounded is for a woman to interfere in his life and turn it upside down.

But Amy and Matt are explosive together and once they take the steps towards each other they just can’t stop -no matter how hard they may try.
This is once again a great installment in the Lucky Harbor series. I just love reading the stories of the characters of this town because they never cease to entertain me. Matt and Amy are no different in that respect because they ARE so different. Though they have a lot in common they are constantly rubbing each other the wrong way. Seeing this couple’s romance was touching, funny and romantic – not to mention sexy.

I have the next book and will definitely be reading it soon. I hope the LH series doesn’t end there and it just keeps going.

  1. I'm right there with you in that I hope the LH series keeps going because I'm really liking it. I can't wait to hear your thoughts on Forever and a Day. I loved it!

  2. I'm looking forward to Forever and a Day after seeing Josh's reaction to Ty and Matt falling in love. 🙂

  3. Lovely review Tracy. I tried the first book (I'm a sucker for a renovation story 🙂 but unfortunately I think I picked it up when I was falling out of love with anything and everything m/f. I might have to go back at some point 🙂
