Blogger/Firefox/IE…they all hate me!

Is it just me?
Whenever I go to comment on a blog that has embedded commenting I see red.  Angry, you say?  Well, not at first…but after multiple clicks? Yeah, but I’d say more like frustrated.
You see, I use Firefox at work and every time I try to comment on a blog that has embedded comments my comment is deleted and I’m not logged in.  I even try to use my livejournal and that doesn’t work either.  I then have to go to Internet Explorer and even then I can’t use my google login – only my livejournal one.  Am I the only one that has this issue with Firefox and IE?  I guess I don’t honestly believe that it’s a blogger issue (at least I don’t think it is, though it may be) but it’s frustrating as all hell.
I don’t have this problem at all when I’m at home and comment while using Google Chrome.
So, do any of the rest of you ever have this issue and if you fixed it, how did you do it? Help!

  1. Tam

I have issues only at work. Blogger will not let me sign in, I get a permanent loop. We have to use IE at work and I think it's the version is so old and with all the firewalls and systems we have it just doesn't function. I can't log-in to comment with LJ, WordPress or anything else. I can only do "name URL" and ones like your's.

Wait. WTF? Suddenly today I'm loggied in to Google. Maybe the upgrades they did last night fixed it. It's most likely your work server/IP system.

  2. Don't get me started on blogger issues these days but just this morning I twittered away on how I'm @#$%^@#$%^& *shakes fist* why I can't leave my comments on blogs with an embedded comment form. I place comment, enter code, and then hit send to end up at google inlog page. Each and every single effing time. It's not funny anymore!!

BTW, I use IE too *sigh*

  3. I use Firefox 5.0 at both work and home and all is well. I did briefly have trouble with embedded comments a few weeks ago, but I have NO idea what version of Firefox I was using at that point. I know that a bit more recently, I had trouble with a version of the Firefox plugin NoScript making it impossible to click through the "adult content" warning on some Blogger blogs, but the next version of the plugin fixed that issue.

  4. Tam – Obviously it's being temperamental for you. lol I'd like to think it's IS here at work but we only have 3 computers. Maybe the ISP but I don't think so. *shrugs* who knows?

Leontine – That's the same thing it would do to me. On Firefox it just wouldn't work but I used to be able to use IE on the embedded commenting with no issue. Now it just keeps sending me back to log in. Even when I use IE and log in with my livejournal acct it gives me flack. Glad I'm not the only one! Sorry you're having issues too though.

Chris – I was using a 3. something version of Firefox until recently when I downloaded 4. I've had problems for the past 6 months no matter what version I use. It's just recently that IE wouldn't work for me. Very curious. I'll check out my plugins. 🙂

  5. Tracy I had problems with both Firefox, IE and embedded comments before as well. I personally love the way they look in a blog, but always seem to have trouble with them. I changed the comments in my blog because I had a few complaints.

  6. Hmm, sorry, can't help. Have been using Google Chrome and I have no problem with the embedded comments. Check on Blogger website to see if others have issues or not. That's the problem with technology nowadays, everything changes so fast… it's all about compatibility ^_^;

  7. I use IE at work and can't comment on any blogger blog with embedded comments. I also occasionally have issues with being able to open some Typepad blogs.

It is very frustrating. The only way I get around it is to star the blog in GR and then go back to it when I get home, and then beg the person to change their settings to popup comments.

  8. Other comments are much more useful to you:) but I can certainly confirm it's only on Blogger that I ever have any problems. It seems to recognise/block me on a whim, whatever the browser. I've just learned to copy my comment before posting because I can never tell if it'll take or not :(.

  9. Hilcia – I like the way they look as well so it is sad that I can't even use them! lol

Nath – I have no problem with my Chrome at home either. I've checked the forums but there's no resolution that I can find. 🙁

Marg – Good idea, I might try that. Luckily, though it gives me trouble, I've been able to comment using my livejournal login.

Clare – Sorry to hear that. I wonder if it's something they're aware of and are working on? They should! 🙂

Orannia – I won't even download IE9 (not that I use IE at home). There are just too many sites that are compatible yet and I've found it's such a pain at work.
My cursor does that lately with my roadrunner email. Why is that? I'm typing along and all of a sudden there are no words being typed and the cursor is in another spot. Frustrating!
