Have you seen the cover and blurb for Julia Quinn’s upcoming release of Just Like Heaven? It’s going to be the first Smythe-Smith book and I couldn’t be more excited for it. I just know that Julia Quinn is going to work her magic and make those horrible instrument playing girls shine and I can’t wait to read it.
Check out the blurb from Goodreads:
Honoria Smythe-Smith, the youngest daughter of the eldest son of the Earl of Winstead, plays the violin in the annual musicale performed by the Smythe-Smith quartet. She’s well aware that they are dreadful. In fact, she freely admits (to her cousins) that she is probably the worst of the bunch. But she’s the sort who figures that nothing good will come of being mortified, so she puts on a good show and laughs about it. Marcus Holroyd is the best friend of Honoria’s brother David, who lives in exile out of the country. He’s promised to watch out for Honoria and takes his responsibility very seriously. But he has his work cut out for him when Honoria sets off for Cambridge determined to marry by the end of the season. She’s got her eye on the only unmarried Bridgerton, who’s a bit wet behind the ears. When her advances are spurned, can Marcus swoop in and steal her heart in time for the musicale?
Ooh wee, I cannot freaking wait! According to Amazon, this book comes out on May 31, 2011 so that’s only a few months wait. Who’s excited with me?
This book is available from Avon. You can pre-order it here.
I hadn’t seen the US cover! I like it -though I sort of like the whimsy of the UK covers too.
I can’t wait for this one, I’ve heard so much of the Smythe-Smith girls that I want to get to know them!
Can’t wait!
Love the “older brother’s friend” storyline, too.
Love Julia Quinn! Can’t wait! I’m adding it to my TBR list now.
The cover is great. Thanks for posting it.
Me, me! I am excited too!
I can’t wait 😀
Ohhh..I can’t wait for this! It sounds great. Glad that the Smythe-Smith will get to shine.
So is this going to be series or this is the only book about the Smythe-Smith?
I remember Julia talking about writing these at RomCon last year.
So excited. Now to decide if I want print or ebook.
Who is the “only unmarried Bridgerton” in the book?
@Alex: I can’t wait for this one either, I’m sure I’m going to laugh my tail off and I’m looking forward to it.
@Renee: I totally agree, the older brother’s friend..yeah, I’m all about it!
@Ing: This is the first book in the Smythe-Smith series. I think all of the Smythe-Smith girls are getting their own books.
I think the only unmarried Bridgerton must be Gregory, so this book is set before the end of the Bridgerton series.
I love JQ so I’m really looking forward to this one!
