Tuesday Teaser – Hell Fire

Posted April 13, 2010 by Tracy in Reviews | 9 Comments

Teaser Tuesdays is a weekly bookish meme, hosted by MizB of Should Be Reading. Anyone can play along! Just do the following:

  • Grab your current read
  • Open to a random page
  • Share two (2) “teaser” sentences from somewhere on that page
  • BE CAREFUL NOT TO INCLUDE SPOILERS! (make sure that what you share doesn’t give too much away! You don’t want to ruin the book for others!)
  • Share the title & author, too, so that other TT participants can add the book to their TBR Lists if they like your teasers!

While I’m almost done with this book it is the book I’m currently reading (and it’s really good!) so here’s the teaser for Hell Fire (Corine Solomon book #2) by Ann Aguirre – page 108.
I had a feeling it wouldn’t do us any good against what shared these woods with us, but men always seemed to feel better being proactive.

For someone who was introducing me to Gifted society, he didn’t seem to have run across as much weird stuff as I had.

  1. Definitely different but just as good. I love Corine and Chance and Jesse. I got it for review but I think it's out already if I'm not mistaken.

  2. Lea

Oh, Man I have to pick up "Hell Fire", I so enjoyed "Blue Diablo", excellent book!

Thanks for the teaser Tracy! Sounds good. *g*

  3. I'm in the middle of reading this one, I feel kind of meh about it. Corine comes off as a little bit…well un kick ass heroine-like, which I find odd since I felt she was a little bit more independent in the 1st book.

Perhaps I need to eat a Hershey's kiss and try re-reading it again?

  4. Tam – Corine is snarky – but mostly she's saying snarky stuff to herself about others. She's pretty nice on the outside most of the time.

Lea – I think you'll like this one just as much.

    QoR – Thanks!

    Lily – It is. 🙂

SHB – I think that's what I love about this book and Corine in general is that she's kind of just like you and me and NOT kick ass. She's just experienced some damn strange stuff in her lifetime and definitely not all pleasant. I think I actually like this book better than BD.
Also, she's in the town where her mother was killed and I think it's more emotional for her so she's a little more sensitive than she was in BD, imho.
