During the two days that Drustan and Gwen are together they find that not only are they attracted to each other but they are drawn to each other on a deeper level. Drustan attempts to get himself and Gwen back to 16th century Scotland but things go wrong with his calculations and only Gwen makes it back. Then she must make the Drustan of the past believe that they belong together, there’s a villain lurking somewhere and she’s not the bad guy in the whole scenario – oh, and she’s not crazy either. Easier said than done.
I read this book for the first time about a year ago and just loved it. I fell half in love with Drustan almost immediately. Yes, he was an arrogant highlander but he just appealed to me for some reason.
At first when I read the book I thought that the relationship with Gwen was going a tad too fast. Not horribly fast but enough to give me pause so when she gets to the past and things are slowed down I really enjoyed seeing their antics together. This reading was no different. I think enough time had passed from my first reading and I had forgotten just enough to make it enjoyable once again. Not totally like reading it for the first time but still damned good.
Let’s face it (and this is for the people reading this review who’ve actually read the book) the scene with Drustan and Gwen when he’s in the garderobe? OMG just to die for. I love that scene every stinking time I read it. sigh Good stuff Maynard.
I have no idea what my rating would have been when I read it the first time…I hadn’t started rating books yet but it would have been pretty high up there.

I re-read all Moning's books in the spring/summer and loved it again. And yes, the scene in the closet…that one nails it for me too. With Dreamfever just finished the year wait has started again for seomthing fresh from Moning's hand.

Drustan was the first book I read by KMM. What a great story. I loved Drustan and Gwen! I want to reread now:)
I love this series – Drustan and Daegus' stories are my favorites. These books are ALWAYS good for a re-read!
I think this is my favorite of the series – I simply loved it! My favorite part – the kiss in the dressing room and the snarky sales lady!

I've heard good things about the Fever series but haven't read it. I'm not normally too much of an urban fantasy girl but I WILL read them eventually.
Hilcia – Dark HL is one of my favs as well. That scene in the garderobe is one of my favs of the whole series.
Mandi – Wow you started with a good one! Yep – it was a good choice for a re-read. Now I want to re-read Dageus! lol
Patti – It's true – they are all good for a re-read. Although I didn't love book 2 it would still be good. 🙂
Julie – that's a great scene as well. Their chemistry together was just explosive.
Orannia – Well let's see. I liked book 1 (the introduction of Adam Black is in that one – he's a recurring character) and book 2 was ok I think they started getting really good with book 3 and completely took off with book 4 (this book). I always like to start series at the beginning but I know not everyone's like that. That doesn't help you at all, does it? lol Ok, start with book 1 and if you want to skip book 2 I don't think it would hurt. 🙂
That scene's one of my favorites as well.
Orannia: I started with this book then read the back list. I think this book on are better read in order but the ones before it (other than 1 should be read before 2 as they have shared cast) could be read in any order.
