XOXO,
Casee, Holly, & Rowena
Velvet Angel by Jude Deveraux. I was 11, LOL.
The first romance, labeled as such, that I read was, I believe, The Wolf & the Dove by Woodiwise.
GENTLE ROGUE by Johanna Lindsay. I was hooked for life after that. 🙂
Honest Illusions, by Nora Roberts. And I’ve been addicted to Roberts ever since. She was my gateway drug to other romance novelists.
Daring to Dream by Nora Roberts. Haha, I was also 11.
I only started reading romance within the past year. I think my first (non-paranormal) was The Bride by Julie Garwood.
Thanks for a month of amazing giveaways!
Hey is this Nora Roberts day? Me too!
Hum,,, first ever was Anne Rice’s Sleeping Beauty Chronicle’s….. wow, blew my young mind away!
My first was Hers Forever Man by Leanne Banks at the precocious age of twelve! It was my mom’s but I read it in secret and it remains one of my favorites till date!
My first romance novel was in Spanish. the title is “Juventud en Extasis, by Carlos Sanchez, the book is really good for teenagers, it like a sex education class squeeze into a romance.
Hmm, first romance? I think it was a Sylvie Sommerfield one, called Wild Wyoming Nights or something. It had a REALLY lusty cover too, I was pretty embarrassed checking it out of the library, lol.
My first romance novel was Nora Robert’s Born in Fire. That started my love for romance and I haven’t stopped since!!
It was an anthology with Angela Knight and Lora Leigh. I cannot recall the name! Which is going to drive me nuts. Nothing like your first being a Lora Leigh breed…whew, it was HOT and I was blown away!!
Hostile Engagement by Jessica Steele. Maybe thats where my Alpha hero love stems from.
I honestly can’t remember. i am sure it was a mills and boons, though. Maybe a Lynne Graham?
My first romance was The Promise by Danielle Steele. I still remember it and loved it! Thanks!

The first romance novel I ever read was probably one of those Harlequin Romance novels.
I was babysitting and after the kids were in bed I picked up a book that was sitting on top of the tv and started to read…woman with flaming red hair in front of Native Americanesque hero with supermantitty popping out of a suede vest…it was a Johanna Lindsey (the title escapes me), and I believe some sexxoring on a horse occurs…just Googled it – the title was Savage Thunder.
That bag looks Awesome! Plus it comes with books! 🙂
First Romance….Danielle it was a Sunfire YA Romance
The Villa by Nora Roberts.
Well, it’s been almost 40 yrs. for me, but it was by Danielle Steele. I used to read everything she wrote, now I have too many other favs. This giveaway is GREAT today!!! I have been buying the Famous Firsts and love them all.
The first romances I read were my sister’s Georgette Heyers but I forgot the titles.
When i switched genre from thrillers though the title that got me hooked back to romance was SEP’s Match me if you Can.
First Love, Wild Love by Janelle Taylor
My aunt’s copy of Star by Danielle Steel. I think I was in 7th grade.
I know I started reading Harlequinns from the 1980s.. you know the ones where they refer to making out as “making love,” which confused the heck out of me. But the first real modern one I read was “Bet Me” by Jennifer Crusie. I LOVE that book!
Thanks!

I honestly can’t remember the title… I remember bits of the plot and the cover, but not the important info! It was probably an old Harlequin book.
I can’t remember what the title was, but I know it was a Danielle Steel that I “borrowed” from my mom. It was completely inappropriate for a pre-teen and I loved it. I’ve been reading romance ever since!
Shanna by Kathleen Woodiwiss.
My first memorable romance (I had read maybe 2 before that) was Katherine Sutcliffe’s Renegade Love
CindyS
My first book was A Rose In Winter by Kathleen Woodiwiss.

The Wolf and the Dove by Kathleen Woodiwiss, followed by The Windflower by Laura London. I loved the second book and would get a kick out of reading it again, but it’s out of print.

My sister got me started on the Macgregor Brides by NR and I’ve been hooked ever since.
Carol
I think my first romance book was Jane Austen’s Pride and Predjudice.
Ok, not sure you would classify it a typical romance, but my first was Gone With the Wind. I could not figure out what she saw in Rhett, I was a Team Ashley all the way!!!
Mine was The Gift by Julie Garwood.
Awesome prize package!!! This has been an amazing contest — you ladies ROCK.
I don’t know title or author, but the first romance I ever read must have been a Harlequin Presents. My aunt gave me several one summer in the early 70s when I complained of being bored. I devoured them, and she gave them to me (one grocery bag at a time) for the next several summers. I passed them to my younger sisters, too.
My first romance was Forever Yours by JanMarie Anello
I was so anti-romance. I considered it every stereotype (pathetic, sad, blah blah blah ect.) But since I read it and gave it a chance I was so hooked. And I had to apologize to the people I shoved romance books back in there face when they offered them for me to read. oops.
Meg Cabot’s The Boy Next Door
I was hooked! =]

So embarrassing but it was a Barbara Cartland. Something about a gypsy. I loved it [blush]. I was 11 or 12. — willaful
Nora Roberts was the first romance author I read following my snobby ‘I’m a college graduate’ phase–which thankfully didn’t last long.
My first romance was Julie Garwood’s “The Bride.”
My mom used to read Phyllis A. Whitney and Victoria Holt’s books. I am sure my very first book I read by Phyllis A. Whitney was called The Trembling Hills.
I don’t remember the first romance I read but it was likely one of my mom’s Harlequins. But I do remember the first romance I read that turned me onto the genre – Breaking Point by Suzanne Brockmann. Now my shelves runneth over with man titty.
