  1. Please don’t enter me into this drawing.

That being said – an author I don’t think many people have heard of – Susan Lyons.

She’s got a few books coming out this winter [I can’t wait to read those] – but her Awesome Foursome books are some of my favorite romances ever. (Champagne Rules, Hot in Here, Touch Me, and She’s on Top.)

  2. I like (among others) Michele Bardsley, Dakota Cassidy & Shelly Laurenston. Bardsley has the vampires of Broken Heart, Oklahoma; Cassidy has the Accidental Series & Laurenston has a couple great shifter series.

  3. Kim Harrison. It’s more Urban Fantasy but I love me a kick-ass heroine. I love that the ‘romance’ aspects of her books are so fluid.

  4. Akanksha

If I had to,had to recommend one single author it would be Meg Cabot for seriously funny and stellar novels like Every Boy’s Got One and The Boy Next Door.Another writer I adore is Leanne Banks who’s written gems like ‘His Royal Pleasure'(check it out, you’ll love it) and I also recommend Kelley Armstrong for her Elena novels(Go Elena!Go Kelley!).If I had to, if I had to pick a fourth author it’d be Anne Gracie for writing ‘Tallie’s Knight’ and finally, Mary Jo Putney for Uncommon Vows.
I know the list is lont…What can I say? I love books!

  5. Luci

This is a hard one as there are many great authors out there.

For romance I always recommend Susan Elizabeth Phillips as she was the author who got me hooked to the genre.

    Romantic suspense – Karen Rose

Historical: Eloisa James, Julia Quinn and many others.

I also love Richard Montanari & Tess Gerritsen for crime/Thrillers…

  6. Only one? 🙂 Okay, a bunch that I love have already been mentioned so I’ll add Rob Thurman to the list. She writes the Cal Leandros series which is UF. Very good and very funny. 🙂

  7. My all time favorite paranormal author is Charlaine Harris with her Sookie Stackhouse series.

If I can sneak in a couple of other mentions, J.K.Rowling. I love the Harry Potter books! Romantic comedies is Jennifer Crusie. Urban paranormal books, Kat Richardson. Romantic mysteries, Stephanie Bond, especially her Body Mover series. Historical romance, Sandy Blair. Love her scottish romance books!

  8. I enjoy mystery books and one of my fave authors is Karen Robards. Her books are easy and quick.

Thanks for this giveaway. i’ve enjoyed reading what authors other people enjoy.

  9. My list of favorite historical romance authors has grown! I would recommend Eluzabeth Hoyt, Laura Lee Guhrke, Sherry Thomas & Emily Bryan.

  10. Jen

Well, that is a hard one. I love a lot of the authors already mentioned, but I’ll have to list two b/c they go back and forth as my favorite – primarily depending on my mood. 🙂

    Claire Thompson and Carol Lynne

They are both excellent authors and while I could go on and on with this list I know those 2 will always be in my top spot.

  11. There are so many I would recommend.. Katie MacAlister, since she has something for everyone – YA, mysteries, historicals, contemporaries, a dragon series, her Dark One series, etc..

And Jennie Crusie. Her contemporary romances make me so happy. Just enough humor, the author herself is an extremely nice person (I’ve met and talked to her several times), and her male leads are yummy.

    Enter me, please!
    Thanks!

  12. Since a lot of my recommendations have already been named, I’ll go with some that may not be as well known but great story tellers in the sci/fi futuristic romance genre.

Stobie Piel, R. Garland Grey, Evangeline Anderson, and Catherine Spangler

  13. It’s so hard to narrow it down so I have so many favorites, but here is my recommendation: James Rollins. Yes, not a romance recommendation, but I’ve seen a ton of my favorite romance authors already recommended and figured I would give a different recommendation.

  14. I have just started reading Lorelei James’ books and have fallen hard for the rough riders series.

I also like Katie MacAlister and Cheyenne McCray, they have some really hot vamp stories!

  15. I would recommend Carolyn Jewel. She has written both historical and paranormal romance. Her historical romance Scandal was one of my favorite books so far this year, and she has a new one, Indiscreet coming on October 6.

  16. Natasha

    Would depend on the genre….

Comedy – Suzan Elizabeth Phillips, Shelly Laurenston

Paranormal – Nalini Singh, Christine Feehan, Lora Leigh, Sherrilyn Kenyon

I’m more likely to recommend series than authors.

  17. There are so very many!! J.K. Rowling is so very clever and Susan Elizabeth Phillips, Dorothea Benton Frank and Meg Cabot have a great sense of humor. Thanks for your giveaway!

  18. Anne Stuart – but only to real romance readers.

    Nalini Singh
    Kresley Cole
    LKH until book 10
    Janet Evanovich till book 9

CindyS (hankering for a re-read now)

  19. I’d recommend Jennifer Crusie or Nora Roberts/JD Robb for contemporary/futuristic.

Nalini Singh, Kresley Cole and Jacquelyn Frank for paranormals.

Mary Balogh, Mary Jo Putney, Laura Kinsale, Meredith Duran for historicals.

And, Maya Banks for the sexxoring romance!
