Author Spotlight: What Is Your Favorite SEP Book?

Whether you’ve got a taste for hunky football players or grieving husbands, Susan Elizabeth Phillips has something that will definitely entertain the socks off of you. If you were like me, after you read your first SEP, you went on a serious SEP binge. So I’ve got to ask…what is your favorite SEP book?

It’s a lot harder coming up with an answer for this one than I thought it would be because there’s so many books by SEP that I absolutely love for different reasons. But still, I’ve got to ask…which one is your favorite?

For the longest time, my favorite book was This Heart of Mine because I absolutely adored Kevin Tucker. I adored everything about him, from the way that he was with Molly at the end of the book and even the stubborn attitude he sported throughout the whole book where the campgrounds were concerned. I enjoyed watching Kevin and Molly fall in love over the course of their book and I totally adored the other characters in the story. It was just a well written, completely funny and charming story that I totally fell in love with. I’ve thought long and hard about this (for all of like ten minutes) and I have decided that even though there are books by SEP that I adore more than life itself, Kevin’s book is still my favorite so you can see who I’m rooting for to win the SEP Last Hero Standing contest.

GO KEVIN!

So, spill the beans and tell us what your favorite SEP book is and why.

  1. Mine is still, hands down, This Heart of Mine.

I still need to read the prequel to it though.

I plan on re-reading all of my SEP’s once I’m done with my TBR pile.

  2. Sheila,

Mine too!!! You will LOVE love love Nobody’s Baby But Mine~! I also loved Dream a Little Dream.

But, This Heart of Mine is my all time favorite SEP. All of the rest are very close all time favorites, too. :).

    Emmanuelle,

I’m totally going to read that book tonight. I loved Kevin’s mom in that book, too. It was awesome. ~Laura T

  4. I don’t have that book but I am definitely go to buy that one after reading all the glowing comments about it! Out of the books that I have read by SEP, my favorite is NATURAL BORN CHARMER.

  5. So hard, but Nobody’s Baby but Mine made me laugh so much, but I loved Kiss an Angel so much, the scene at the end with Alex on his knees, Oh Man! And Dream a Little Dream with tormented Gabe and down and out Rachel willing to do anything for her son.

  6. I’m with Michele L. Just thinking about Natural Born Charmer brings a smile to my face. 😉

It sounds like I definitely have to read This Heart of Mine!

  7. Scorpio M.

Ain’t She Sweet? is my favorite. Unique heroine, great premise, even the secondary romances were touching and deep. One of the best contemporary romances I’ve ever read.

Loved the Heyer quotes before each chapter too!

My favorite SEP is This Heart of Mine. I adore Molly and Kevin as individuals and love them together. I remember how vulnerable and heartbreaking Molly was as a teen in It Had to Be You, and I’m so glad she met someone like Kevin. I really enjoyed the Daphne and Benny excerpts and how some of them mirrored what Molly and Kevin were going through. Wish there really was a series of books featuring these two cuties. When I met SEP at RWA two years ago, I had her sign my copy of This Heart of Mine. 🙂

Its really difficult to choose a favourite because SEP has written many books that are just fantastic and resonated with me for one reason or another. Still, if I had to choose a favourite I would say Dream A Little Dream.

  10. Thi si a very hard choice but I choose two – Kiss an Angel : loved circus, loved Alex and the whole story so much; Dream Little Dream just brought tears in my eyes and I couldn’t resist loving Gabe and Rachel 🙂

  11. Rowena

Natural Born Charmer was a definite chamer, =P but I’ll always have a soft spot for Kevin’s book in my SEP loving heart.

    Gwen Hayes,

I can definitely see why you’d post under protest. There’s just too many SEP goods to choose from.

There’s something to enjoy about each and every book that’s for sure.

  12. AIN’T SHE SWEET – hands down. Sugar Beth committed an unpardonable sin when she took down the HS English teacher with her lie, and her redemption was a masterful job of writing.

  13. Natasha

This is very difficult to answer. Honestly, I like all her books and I’m not exaggerating! I was like you. I read one book by her and then went on a SEP books binge 😀

    I loved:
Lady Be Good – It was sooo funny! I had a lot of laugh out loud moments while reading it

Kiss an Angel – I love the end to that book. Sometimes I just pick up the book and read the ending.
