Please help us in welcoming Amy Wilkins, Harlequin’s Digital Production Coordinator. She’s here today to tell us a bit about their eBundles.
______________
Hi everyone! My name is Amy Wilkins from Harlequin’s digital team. Some people may know me from our blogs I Heart Presents and Harlequin’s Paranormal Romance Blog – but most of my job at Harlequin is behind-the-scenes, working on all kinds of digital products…including what Sybil and Holly have asked me to blog about today: eBook Bundles!
Think of bundles as digital anthologies — they’re collections of electronic books combined into a single download. They were born out of readers’ desire to get complete miniseries or backlist titles that have become hard to find in print — and since ebooks can’t sell out and can be put together faster than print, ebook bundles were the answer. Our bundles are eBook exclusive products; like our digital shorts (Nocturne Bites, Spice Briefs, and Harlequin Historical Undone), these collections are not available in print. To date, Harlequin has published 183 bundles, which can all be found at our eBook Store or any other ebook retailer.
So what kinds of bundles will you find? Most of our collections based around authors, miniseries, and popular themes. Like vampires? We have a bundle. Looking for some out-of-print books by Anne Stuart? Search no more! Can’t track down all the Montana Mavericks books? Got that, too, in bundles 1, 2, and 3!
You can find bundles by imprint as well. Every month, we offer “One-Click Buys” of our “passion” series – Harlequin Blaze, Harlequin Presents, Harlequin Presents Extra, and Silhouette
Desire. These bundles include all the month’s new releases in a single download for a discounted price — basically, fans of these series can get all the books they want in a more convenient way and save some money J
Bundles also give us a chance to try out some new things in ebooks. For example, last month we combined backlist paranormal novellas by authors like Maggie Shayne, Charlaine Harris (from her pre-Sookie Stackhouse days), and Susan Kearney in a bundle called Dark & Dangerous: A Collection of Paranormal Treats for Halloween. After adding in some bonus reads, you have a bargain bundle of ten stories for $10.
It can be tricky to decide what to bundle, and it often involves a good amount of research. The digital team and I are constantly checking the Harlequin database, blogs, author pages and websites to find popular miniseries, prequels to new books, and interesting themes that readers will be interested in. We’re always revising how we plan bundles, taking into account what works and what doesn’t, new things we can experiment with, new releases we can work with, and – very importantly – readers’ suggestions. If you have an idea for a bundle, we’d love to here it at nbd@harlequin.ca.
Thanks, and happy reading!
~Amy

Thanks so much for being with us today Amy! 😉
oh I love ebook bundles! One of my favorite things. Thanks for the post!
I haven’t gotten the bundles yet, since I use a EBookWise reader and need the HTML for my books, but did see a book here and there on EBookWise of Harlequin books. I can read the short ones, like the Spice Briefs on my laptop but most its much easier to read longer reads on the ebook reader. But I think this is a fab idea! Really would open up more room here! Thanks for all the info, its great!
Hi Amy, I’d love to see book bundles on Nocturnes, as I’m sure would many others. Luna’s, too.
Thanks for having me Book Binge!
Thanks for the suggestion, Pam! We’ve had a few paranormal bundles you might be interested in including Nocturnes, such as…
– Caridad Pineiro’s The Calling series bundle with the first books in her vampire series (though there have been more after the bundle was published),
– Nancy Holder’s The Gifted series (a Nocturne Bundle)
– The Knights of White by Lisa Renee Jones (also Nocturne)
– Dark & Dangerous: A Collection of Paranormal Treat
– Gena Showalter’s Lords of the Underworld
– Rebecca Flanders’ Heart of the Wolf Bundle (Nocturne)
– Blood Ties series bundle by Jennifer Armintrout
– Bloodrunners Bundle by Rhyannon Byrd (Nocturne)
– Bloodlust Bundle
…I meant that to be short list, but that’s just what I got skimming through the first 4 pages of our Bundle section on http://www.ebooks.eharlequin.com (there are 13 pages in all)!
There also was a bundle of Maria V. Snyder’s Study series which started out in LUNA before moving to MIRA. I’m sure there will be more paranormal bundles in the future, especially around Halloween! Do you have any favorite authors or miniseries?

Thinking about getting a car insurance quote?
Car Insurance
A growing number of people are dropping their auto insurance to try to save money, according to a recent study by the Insurance Research Council (IRC). If the current rate of unemployment continues, the IRC estimates that the national uninsured rate will climb from 13.8 percent in 2007 to 16.3 percent in 2010. With that many people driving without coverage, it’s dangerous to be uninsured. But how much car insurance do you really need?
If you’re like many people feeling the pinch, your inclination is to get the bare minimum of insurance coverage required by the law in your state. That’s a good place to start, though those minimums may not fully protect you — or your assets — if you file a claim. We recommend getting more than the minimum coverage unless you are driving a beater and have no assets to protect.
