FLYING SOLO IS WAY OVERRATED

Noah Fisher has worked for months to make Sky High the most prestigious charter airline in California. He’s long overdue for a break-something involving ski slopes, cold beers, and hot ski bunny babes, not necessarily in that order. The itinerary doesn’t include being hijacked by Bailey Sinclair, gorgeous widow of one of Sky High’s wealthiest (ex-) clients. But here they are, and being crammed in a cockpit with the scared, stubborn, unbelievably sexy former model he’s been fantasizing about invokes Superman tendencies that could get Noah in serious trouble.

Bailey is desperate to find the stash of money hidden by her conniving, thieving late husband-before the bad guys he owed find her. It’s a long shot, but nothing compared to the gamble she’s taking by being so close to Noah. Every minute in his company has Bailey thinking about doing crazy, reckless things like touching, grabbing, kissing.and oh wow, being kissed right back. Suddenly, seat-of-your-pants seems like the only way to fly, and maybe it’s the altitude playing tricks, but this is one trip she never wants to end.

This is the first book in Jill Shalvis’ Sky High series and it’s Noah Fisher’s book. Noah is one of the owners of Sky High Airlines and he’s the charming one. He’s lusted after by women the world over and he’s strong, charming and extremely sexy….so what’s not to love?

Nothing, right? And you’re right. There isn’t anything that is wrong with Noah unless you count six months without getting laid as something wrong. He’s trying to get over something that took him out of commission for a while and his first plane ride up to have some much needed R&R with some snow bunnies if he could help it has been compromised. His flight has been hi jacked by the beautiful Bailey Sinclair, a woman that Noah has a big time crush on. She’s desperate to get where she needs to get and she’s desperate to keep the guys on her tail away from her long enough so that she can fix the problems her punk ass ex husband has left at her front door. Without meaning to, she brings Noah knee deep into the middle of her problems and they have to figure out a way to get the stuff the thugs want and stay alive in the process.

It’s a lot easier said than done, that’s for sure. What makes things even harder is the attraction that is threatening to overwhelm the both of them.

I really enjoyed getting to know both of these characters. Jill Shalvis does a great job of letting us get to know the characters all the while they’re running from the bad guys and trying to figure out how the hell to stay alive.

Noah was a fantastic hero. One of those sexy, do me right now kind of heroes. I really, really liked him in this story. He’s got some issues that he was working through and he gets hi jacked by the woman of his dreams and it’s so funny to see these two come together. They’re running for their lives but they still got to get their kiss on, handle your scandal Noah! =)

Bailey Sinclair was a good heroine. She was one of those down to earth heroines who was dealt a wrong hand and she’s trying to make these bad people go away so that she can move on with the rest of her life and she’s doing all of this on her own because she doesn’t want to endanger anyone she cares about. A noble thing to do, something that I would certainly never do. I have a big mouth, I tend to get into all sorts of trouble because I can’t shut my trap and even though I liked her, she got on my nerves when she kept trying to save Noah’s life by not telling him anything. It was like, tell him everything he needs to know because whether you like it or not, you’ve already endangered his life. You hi jacked his plane and he’s on the run with you, OPEN YOUR MOUTH AND GET THE TALKING!

The whole book is one sexy adventure and each scene with these two in it certainly shined for me. I enjoyed it. I was entertained. I want more from Jill Shalvis and I can’t wait until I can have that.

One thing I have to point out though is the cover is sexy…really sexy, until you look at Noah’s hand and your whole fantasy is thrown to dust with that monster looking hand. I’m sorry but that is not a hand that I’d want to caressing me, it looks like the hand of a dirty old man who works with me and I can’t help but get creeped out when I look at it. It creeped me out so bad that I had to cover my book so that I could continue reading. I’m happy to say that Jill did such a great job of making me forget about the hand on the cover that I got through the book without a second thought to that hand until my dumb niece took the cover off and I was like, NOOOOOOO but still Jill, you did a terrific job on the book. I can’t wait to read Shayne’s book now and then Brody’s book. Oh man I can’t wait to read Brody’s book because he’s smexy and me love him long time.

Woot, you guys should definitely start this series, this book shows promise for the rest of the series so bring it on!

This book is available from Kensington. You can buy it here.

  1. I’m a big fan of Jill Shalvis, but I haven’t yet gotten this series. I keep meaning to and now your review has pushed me to making sure this first book is among my next bunch of those I buy.

  2. Doesn’t she rock! This is a trilogy right? I’ve read lots of hers but not these yet. With so many books out, I got a behind with more new authors and can’t remember if I got this one! I must check. If its a trilogy I probably will read if all out now.
    I don’t see what you see on the hand. Maybe I have to see the real cover to check it out, LOL.

    Book = 4/5.
    This review = needs some proofreading. I’m no grammar queen, but this was plain painful to get through.
