Ok, fair warning: there will be spoilers in this review. Not many, but some.
I’ll tell you right off, I liked this book. Yes, I’m a sucker for paranormals that feature were creatures but this was good whether you are a huge fan or not. The third book in the Scions trilogy brings us back into the story of the prophecy that started in book 1.
Caine meets Emma and is completely entranced by her. Emma feels the same way about Caine. Caine is a Lupreda, a werewolf. Emma, it turns out, is a Velius – a panther, but she’s never had any idea. These two are more or less enemies. Not a good match. The problem is, they can’t seem to stay away from each other.
When Emma’s aunt is kidnapped at first she thinks that it’s Caine that has done the kidnapping. She finds out otherwise…but just in time for someone to kidnap her as well. The story unfolds and we discover that Emma’s aunt really isn’t her aunt and had taken her when she was little to protect her from the warring parts of the Velius. She had remained hidden until she had stopped taking her “vitamin” which was actually a pill that helped hide her scent. Now that the Velius have taken Emma they expect many things from her, including procreating. Problem…Emma wants no one but Caine.
Many people get involved with the problem of the evil side of the Velius….the Sanguinas (the vampires), the Lupreda (the werewolves) and the good side of the Velius. They all work together, which they had not ever done before, to bring about a solid resolution to the problem and a fulfillment to the prophecy.
I thought that the book, with all of its twists and turns, had a great interweaving of both the suspense plot and the romance – this goes for all 3 books in the trilogy. Caine and Emma were wonderful together despite their cat/wolf issues and I very much enjoyed reading their story.
There were more than a few other secondary characters that were in the book that I would love to read about someday: Hawkeye, Roman, Laird, Mira, Talek. Even though the trilogy is finished maybe we’ll get to read their stories some day.

I read this one last week and I really enjoyed it. Out of the three Scions books this one was my favorite.
Anna – I think it’s a tie between this one and Landon’s book for my favorite. Although I really liked the first too. IDK! I can’t decide lol
I’ve read the first one and I liked it enough to buy the second, but I haven’t read it yet. I better hurry up and read it so I can get this one!

CJ – I do too! lol It’s funny that you said she looks a little scary. My 6 year old picked up the book and said “Momma – she looks evuuuuul!” haha. Since she’s a panther I think they were just trying to maker her look cat like.
