Poetry and a Scoundrel

Poetry:

So it’s poetry time again at my house. This month’s poem was a little more difficult for her to learn for some reason. She just couldn’t quite get it. So on Tuesday when we were all off for Veteran’s Day I decided that she would learn it through interpretive dance. omg how fun was that? She was hilarious and then my oldest got into it and was being extremely creative and slapstick funny as well. I don’t think we’d laughed that hard together in a while. Problem: Neither one of them would let me video tape!! I guess those moments will have to be stuck in my head instead of stuck on a CD.

Anyway, so this is my youngest doing it “properly” as she says:

A Scoundrel:So I finally requested Lord of Scoundrels by Loretta Chase from the library. I started reading it last night and I could not put it down.Dain is just…..such an ass, yet…not. And Jess is just…incredible so far. Feisty, intelligent – I love her!OMG why did I wait so long? I’m only about 170 pages into it but it’s just amazing! I can’t possibly say enough good things about this book and I haven’t even finished it! Alright, I’ll keep you posted.

  1. That is so darn cute and again, I think it’s a wonderful idea. Devin says he is nervous when he has to speak in front of the class. Having them do this at a young age helps to conquer that fear!

I only just read Lord Of Scoundrels a few months ago. I loved it too!

  2. OMG – she is just something!

As for LoS, I had to stop after about 65 pages and do a post on it when I read it also. So I ended up with 2 review posts on it. I lovelovelove it. I also highly recommend Lord Perfect. I’ll see if I have it floating around somewhere. If I do, I’ll bring it tomorrow.

  3. KB – thanks. Wonder and lucsiousness – perfect description of LOS!!

Amy – yes, as difficult as it is for her to remember the poems it seems like she’s not as shy around people now and doesn’t have a problem getting up in front of a group – well, unless it’s to do interpretive dance! lol I’m the one who hates getting up in front of a crowd – my knees start shaking like a friggin leaf! 🙂

Lori – Thanks. – Oh if you have that other book I’d love it if you brought it.
I just can’t get enough of this book. I’ll finish it tonight so I’ll tell you all about it tomorrow!

  4. She is such a doll. That was an adorable curtsey at the end there.
And now you are finding out why LOS is always so high on favourite lists!! I adore Dain – but it really is Jessica that makes this book so great. I can’t tell you how many times I’ve read it. I have 2 copies – the original and the reissue.

  5. Too cute! I especially love the curtsy. 🙂

*sigh* I’m still the only woman alive who didn’t care for Lord of Scoundrels. I’m so ashamed!

  6. Thanks Kristie – Yes, I’m thinking I have to go buy a copy to have since I got this one from the library! 🙂

Jenb – I’m sure you’re not the ONLY person not to like it!
Yes, she’s practices that curtsy all the time! lol

  7. I just read LOS over the summer. LOVED it! It took forever, but I finally posted my thoughts on it at the beginning of this month. It took forever before I could review it without the entire post being a muddled squee. Keep reading and let us know your thoughts when you are finished!
