Today award winning author Jodi Thomas is here visiting with us. Please join us in giving her a warm welcome! Be sure to check back later this week for an interview and some great giveaways!

___________

As a writer I feel very close to my readers because they willingly go with me into an imaginary world and accept it, as I do, as real. Sometimes I almost feel like we, the readers, the characters and me, could have a family reunion and we’d all have a ball.

How do I begin the construction of that world? It usually comes to me in tiny pieces. I often think that I’m digging it up like an archeologist finding a new civilization. Sometimes I see a picture, sometimes I’m listening to music. When I was younger, I used to think that somewhere there was a town that would be the perfect place to live. Maybe in my mind I tried to invent that place. As I grew older I realized it wouldn’t be all that interesting so I mixed in adventure.

Be it Twisted Creek or Clifton or WhisperingMountain, once I see the place it becomes as real to me as the world I live in. So, sometimes when I forget where my friends are having lunch, or I turn the wrong way down a road and my sisters think I’m crazy, I want to shout, “Hey, I’m living in more the one world, give me a break!”

Thank you for picking up one of my stories and going with me into those worlds. I think you’ll love the return to the ranch in TALL, DARK, AND TEXAN out October 28th and I hope you’ll enjoy the streets of small town Bailee in REWRITING MONDAY coming out in April 09.

I’d love to hear what worlds came alive from any book for you……

Yay! It’s Jodi Thomas week 🙂 I’ve been patiently waiting…..

I’ll be picking up Tall, Dark and Texan tomorrow so you don’t need to enter me in the contest. I just wanted to pop in and say “hi”.

  2. I haven’t read one of your books but when I saw you were going to be the guest author I thought I would check out the Twisted Creek review.

As soon as I started reading Holly’s review (wonderful job Holly) I remembered reading this review and others I had read at the time. I couldn’t remember why I never picked it up but I’ve taken care of that…I have it reserved at the bookstore and will pick it up this afternoon.

Looking forward to reading your book and hearing my from you on the blog this week.

  3. Mary Beth

I really enjoyed the first two books in this series, so I would love to be in the drawing for the third.

  4. Hi, Ms Thomas!

I confess that you are a new-to-me author, but seems the lady Bingers really like you, and I find myself curious to know more.

    Good luck with tomorrow’s release!

  5. I read a lot of historical romances, and the old American West holds a particular fascination for me. I love reading about the people who struggled to survive during that time, AND there is just something so sexy about a cowboy!

The Book Binge review of Tall, Dark, and Texan is wonderful. I certainly want to read this book and the rest of the series now. Thank you for the opportunity to win a copy! 🙂

  6. I love cowboys! You are a new author to me. I will be checking out your books now that you have been brought to my attention. Especially after reading the review for Tall, Dark and Texan!

I would love to be in the drawing.

  7. I’m feeling rather smug in the fact that I’ve been reading and enjoying your books for years.
I loved the series you did about the Gibson women but my favourite is the one I mentioned on a previous post – The Tender Texan.
So I would love the opportunity to win an autographed copy of your latest book 🙂

I have not read any of your books…honestly, I’m not a fan of western romance but the review says it’s not too western so m/b I will give this a try. *wink*

  9. Twisted Creek came alive for me more than just about any other book. The other book that feels so real I think I could just step into the story is The Awakening by Kate Chopin.

I can’t wait to grab a copy of the new book!
