Amelia Willoughby has been engaged to the Duke of Wyndham for as long as she can remember. Literally. A mere six months old when the contracts were signed, she has spent the rest of her life waiting. And waiting. And waiting . . . for Thomas Cavendish, the oh-so-lofty duke, to finally get around to marrying her. But as she watches him from afar, she has a sneaking suspicion that he never thinks about her at all . . .
It’s true. He doesn’t. Thomas rather likes having a fiancée—all the better to keep the husband-hunters at bay—and he does intend to marry her . . . eventually. But just when he begins to realize that his bride might be something more than convenient, Thomas’s world is rocked by the arrival of his long-lost cousin, who may or may not be the true Duke of Wyndham. And if Thomas is not the duke, then he’s not engaged to Amelia. Which is the cruelest joke of all, because this arrogant and illustrious duke has made the mistake of falling in love . . . with his own fiancée!
I really enjoyed the first book, The Lost Duke of Wyndham so I’m really excited to read this one. Thomas and Amelia’s book is going on at the exact same time as Jack and Grace’s story is and for me, that’s great because that means we’ll be seeing what Thomas has been up to while Jack and Grace are getting all close.
Who’s looking forward to reading this book? I’ve seen some reviews already out about this one so I need to hurry up and read this so I can see if I agree with the reviews or not…WOOT!
This book is available from Avon. You can buy it here or here in e-format.
Hi Rowena,
This story line seems similar to Hannah Howell’s ‘Beauty and the Beast’, one of my favorite all time books. I like series that occur at the same time. It makes for good reading & from different points of view. I will definitely check them both out.
Thank you,
Susan B.
Cover…pretty……
I’ve been waiting for this one for SO long – I’m so happy it’s finally getting close to release day!
I can’t wait for this one!
Can’t wait for this one 🙂 I’m glad that we didn’t have to wait a year 🙂
I (surprisingly) liked the first one, so, like you, I’m excited for this one!
I loved the first one a lot, and definitely enjoyed this one too. Quintessential JQ romance. They definitely go together, and it helps to read TLDOW first.
This book is amazing. Really.
I was soooo disappointed in LDOW, but the best thing about it was the secondary romance, so, yes, this is preordered and I am looking forward to reading ir (despite the fact that I feel it should have been one book).
I’m really looking forward to this one. I enjoyed the first one so much.
Rowena, I’ve been telling you to read HH for like a billion years now. Just do it already! She’s like a super way better version of Julie Garwood.
I have 500+ blogs in my feed reader – they cross a variety of topics – general stuff that I just like, craft, and reading and authors blogs. I have about 40 that are my go to blogs – the ones that I read first and then I work my way through the others.
Hey Susan B,
I’m gonna have to put HH’s books on my TBR list because I really enjoyed this series…I hope you enjoy the books as much as I did.
Sayuri,
Aint that the truth?
Ash,
It’s almost here, it’s almost here!
Iz,
You and me both, you wanna review this together? We totally should!
Nath,
I’m glad about that too, because anything over a year is just too long!
Alice,
I’m sure I’ll end up loving Jack more than Thomas but that’s all good in the hood.
Stacy,
Thanks for the heads up!
Ana,
Woo hoo, I can’t wait!
Jessica,
Awww, you didn’t like LDoW? Why not? I really enjoyed that one, that sucks that you didn’t. What didn’t you like about it?
Dev,
I can’t wait to read your thoughts on this one, happy reading it as soon as you get it!
Rowena,
What Holly said re: HH. I’ve read them all except the westerns, and they are, as of a week ago, on my TBR shelf. Everyone of her’s is a keeper, so make room or buy an e-book if you can. Vampires, Highlanders, all great, great reads. She has been doing re-issues last 1-2 years so should be pretty easy to find.
Good reading,
Susan B.
Marg,
I’m so the same way with you…I have so many blogs that I read it’s ridonkulous! But my day isn’t complete if I haven’t read every single one of them though. haha.
Susan B.,
Alright, just for you, I’m gonna try her out…oh, and you too, Holly dear! 😉
