Today’s BBAW instructions from Amy say:
Well, the awards are being handed out and congratulations passed on, I hear there’s a best dressed/worst dressed in book blogging edition to come, but the truth is you are all pretty darned spectacular. So for today, why not show it off?
Go hunt through your archives and find your favorite review, or author interview where you asked just the right insightful questions, or another post about something totally unrelated–a post where you think you’re at your best and share it here! So today, it’s really important to link to your specific post and NOT your general URL. OR. If you can’t decide on just one, write up a new post containing the links to your favorites. It’s your choice…do it whichever way you want!
This should help us all get to know you a little better!
We loved the idea of doing this, but decided to put our own little twist on the assignment. Instead of choosing one post that we all love, we decided to choose one post for each of us. And just to mix it up even more, we chose for each other. Meaning: Casee chose her favorite Rowena post, Rowena chose for Holly and Holly chose for Casee.
Sufficiently confused? Wonderful, let the games commence:
Casee:
I chose Rowena’s post: The Power in a Review
This is one of my favorite Wena posts because all the best parts of her personality are shown. Her humor and love for books really show in this post. Her being so adament about Oceans Apart made me go buy the book along with what looks like half the L.A. population. And I remember it well b/c I was in Hawaii where it was not easy to just pop into Borders. I think that’s one of the reasons this post really stands out in my mind when I think of Rowena. It was her passion and conviction about the topic. There really is such power in reviews and she pretty much told us why.
Holly:
For Casee I chose: Who’s your biggest book influence?
And no, I didn’t choose it because she tells you all how great I am, though that certainly doesn’t hurt things (tee hee).
I first met Casee on an author message board, we instantly connected over books. It soon became apparent that we liked the same style and before long, she’d become my favorite book pimp. She worked at a used book store at the time, and about once a month I’d get a box in the mail full of books she was convinced I should read. And you know what? 95% of the time (we won’t talk about that other 5% *shudder*) she was spot on and I loved what she sent. I think the best thing about Casee (from a reader standpoint) is her passion for books. And her tenacity. When she finds a book she loves she doesn’t rest until every single person she knows has tried it, too. I just love that about her.
Rowena:
I chose, Does Size Really Matter? for Holly.
This is one of my favorite posts by anyone, period because I remember the day that we wrote up this post and I couldn’t stop laughing when Holly started writing it. These are my favorite kinds of posts, the very random and thought provoking posts where we’re trying to have a serious conversation but can’t stop laughing because Holly won’t quit with her “man roots” and crap. This post right here shows our blog’s personality because we don’t take ourselves seriously and we love to have fun. These kinds of posts are fun for us because we get to poke fun at each other and have a good time. Book Binge is all about a good time and Holly really put on a show with this one.
Good times, good times.
While I am partial to my post on 13 reasons Jacob rocks Edward for which I have recieved my first quite colorful and thouroughly amusing hate mail, my best post has actually been the
notes from a Blake Snyder lecture that I attended in February. Why? Because that post has been the most helpful and informative for fellow aspiring authors. I endevor in all things to be useful.
I also aspire to poor spelling.

I have two favorite posts. Kristie and my AIM review chat for Slave by Cheryl Brooks. My second favorite one is the massive emails about Caine’s Reckoning by Sarah McCarthy I posted.
My favourite actually didn’t have anything to do with books. It was the one I did on dogsitting Arthur the Dog.
I’m a cat person you see.

Lisa thought it was so funny she brought it up where she works and had everyone read it.
I’ll own up right now that I’m too lazy to go through all my posts and find a favorite. I will tell you the first ones that popped into my head though. There’s the Thanksgiving post I did for you guys (last year?) about some books I’m thankful for reading.
Then there’s the one I wrote about making my bed. I remember at the time being surprised it struck such a chord with people.
Which brings me to your earlier column on advice to new bloggers. Be yourself. Yes, post, post, post is very excellent advice, but as both Holly and Casee mentioned don’t worry about copying anyone else. Just be yourself.
Er…sorry I got so long winded.
What a great idea and a great thread! I just started blogging last month so its too early for me to reminisce, but I can tell you how much I have learned about blogging from vets like you: tons.
