The Greek tycoon…

Kyros Pavlidis is a multibillionaire, used to buying whatever he wants.

An overwhelming attraction…

Kyros sweeps Alice off her feet but he has an ulterior motive—marriage!

The marriage merger…

Once Alice is wearing Kyros’s ring, she discovers he wants a wife for necessity and not love…

This was everything I love in a Harlequin Presents. A man that you just want to just hit over the head, he’s so dense. A woman that doesn’t want to love the jerk, but just can’t help herself.

Alice was dazzled by Kyros ten years ago when she was in college. She quickly fell head-over-heels for the Greek man that seemed to be everything she could possibly hope for in a man. When he abruptly ended their affair and her life, Alice was shattered. Pulling her life back together took time and effort, but Alice did it.

Now Kyros is back. Though it had been ten years, Kyros still wants Alice now as much as he did back then. Deciding that all he needs to do to get her out of his mind completely is get her back into bed, Kyros does just that. He’s underestimated his feelings for Alice, though, and isn’t prepared for just how much he wants to keep her.

Kyros decides there’s nothing else to do but marry Alice. But he’s determined to keep her at a distance. Alice gives up her home, her family, and her job to marry Kyros and move to Greece. When Alice realizes exactly what Kyros expects from her and the secrets he’s been keeping, she’s devestated.

This book packed quite the emotional punch. Alice was a strong heroine that wanted nothing more than a life with the man she loved. When she realizes what a mistake she has made, you can practically feel her desperation. The ending and how Kyros is humbled makes for great reading.

I have to hand it to the author. For the hero to think this (at the beginning of the book):

So what was he going to do about it? He was going to do what he always did–take what he wanted, and then walk away.

and still redeem him at the end, that’s pretty amazing.

4.5 out of 5.

This book is available from Harlequin Presents. You can buy it here or here in e-format.
