LOL, I’m sorry if you’ve missed some of the battles but there will be a different battle all month, so be sure to stick around and vote for your favorites! =)

    Thanks everyone for voting!

  2. Poor Max, he’s great, but he doesn’t stand a chance in front of Richard 😀 Go Richard!

You know what, Rowena? We should have hold the heroine battle over at Breezing Through 😀 Or are you planning to make one?

  3. I can’t believe I’m confessing this, but I need help!
Today’s choices – which books are the heroes from? I know I know the names, but short of going through all my books or going through all her book reviews at Amazon, I’m drawing a blank.
And *g* realizing how important each vote is, I want to make an informed vote *chuckle*

  4. Rowena

    Hey Kristie J,

Lucas Stone is from White Lies (the amnesia book) and John Rafferty is from Heartbreaker. Sorry I didn’t get this up sooner but there you go sweets!

    Better late then never, right?

    HUGS!

  5. Crap, I forgot to vote yesterday. *sigh* I’m glad to see Reese won, though. LOVE HIM! 😉

And Ween, that’s jacked up putting Cahill against Sam.

  6. Rowena

    Holly,

It wouldn’t have mattered who we put up against Sam, it would have had the same outcome. haha. But yeah, poor Cahill!

I like Robert and everything, but I think I’m one of the few people who really looooooooooved Rome from beginning to end.

    Yeah, I’m twisted 😀

“By all means – Rome.” Audrey Hepburn in Roman Holiday.

New to your blog but I just want to throw my hat in for Rome. My heart just bleed for him – his pain was so real.

Rome is a self-centered ass. I’m sorry his wife and children died, but instead of attempting to triumph over his tragedy or become more compassionate to others, he acted like a spoiled brat, throwing a tantrum anytime he didn’t get his way.

Bottlem line, when the chips were down, he chose his precious heartbreak over Sarah’s needs. Sarah was way too good for him and I kept hoping she would wake up and figure it out for herself.

Perhaps. I have suffered a few loses in the past 15 years or so, and I have seen how differently every person in my immediate family reacts to them. I guess I don’t consider hearbreak in any way similar to selfishness. Obviously, people’s mileages vary widely on this.

I always find it amusing how some people can preach compassion and not have any at all.

Having yet to lose any love ones, I am blessed with ignorance of such emotions as described in the book and how I will hold up under the circumstance.

All That Glitters and An Independent Wife are both the only LH’s books I absolutely despise. Yes, I don’t care for her first person books, nor the Raintree one, but these two? ACK!

No vote from me on this one.

Unless I can vote against both of them? *hopeful begging puppy eyes*

  13. Jack from Open Season is a given. He doesn’t mind wearing purple condoms. LMAO!! I adored his and Daisy’s relationship and one of my all time favorite Linda Howard scenes is when he kisses the life out of her in her sexy red dress against the car!

  14. azteclady

As much as I like Ben (and I do, people, I most certainly do, I’m with Katie(babs) here.

Purple condoms for the win! *grin*

  15. I am not backing down from this one because James Diaz puts all Howard heroes to shame, even John M.
Nope, not going to listen to your rebutals. Diaz is number one!!
*puts fingers in ears and hums*

  16. Aww, I’m sorry to disappoint you, KB, but..I have to agree. Diaz rocks. He’s WAY better than Medina. Though, I still say Ben is the best of them all. Yes, Diaz is amazing, but Ben tops even him.

But in this poll? Diaz for SURE!

  17. azteclady

    Yay, Díaz!

    😀

I, however, cannot chose one favorite–whenever I try, I start second guessing myself and thinking, ‘but how about that one? or this one? or..?’

(And there’s a new book to look for this summer )

  18. I’m much more for Diaz. The way he took care of *oh damn – what’s her name*. He was hard to get to know – but oh my – is he a good hero.

  19. Anonymous

hmm, the good looking guy or the one with the battered-looking face, the one who could keep a condom on through a slow dance or the one who kept from losing it on the hot drive home — that is a hard one:)

Marc is too metro-sexual to need any help from me.

    mph

  20. Ugh, how come the guys I’m rooting for are losing? Marc was way better than Dane. I agree with Holly. Dane was stubborn and not very nice to the heroine in the beginning 🙁

  21. azteclady

    Cal, definitely.

(Well, okay, it’s probably ’cause I couldn’t finish Killing Time the first two times I tried it, and it’s now sitting somewhere at the bottom of the TBR mountain, so… but still, Cal.)

It seems I’m forever slapping down the pretty ones. I’m all for the rough, raw and rugged:)Rafe, it is.

    mph

  23. azteclady

Luis Frontera, definitely. Had been pining for him to get his story since A Lady of the West.

  24. Nooooooooo!!!! You lumped Grey and Wyatt together with so many people’s favourite but mine – Wolf.
But I gotta go with partner Katie and pick Grey – even though I do love me Wyatt too.

  25. azteclady

kristie(j) you wound me! Wolf is… is… :sigh:

    😀

(I like Grey too, very much, but c’mon! Wolf? yummy!)

  26. azteclady

*laughing* katie(babs), not to be mean or anything *ahem* but did you see your previous comment? *giggling*

Thank GOD, we all like different men. There’s too few in the world as it is (especially after you weed out the gay, the married and the idiots) – I certainly wouldn’t wait to fight ALL of you for —wait for it —– DIAZ!!!!

    mph

  28. Rowena

Nah, Diaz was great but he was too serious…Ben Lewis had a great mix of everything, with Ben, he had the personality, the sense of humor and the technique to make me slap slap happy and on top of that, I know without that he would always protect me from the bad guys. He wasn’t the most perfect hero but that’s okay, imperfect people have more adventures.

James was a fantastic hero, I’m not disputing that, it’s just that he didn’t have that playfulness that Ben did and I seriously love that in Ben.

  29. azteclady

I’m boggled… how come Zane is winning? Now, I adore Zane, truly do (my first ever SEAL, who can forget that, I ask you?) but still!

    Días, people, DIAZ!

  30. Casee,
You’re right, you would be. Ok, ok. Maybe it’s not so bad that he got picked over Diaz, but over BEN? Really?

  31. Rowena

I won’t fight you for him Katiebabs, it’s all good.

Casee, you totally voted for Zane, huh?
