It’s September. That means kiddies going back to school, football, fall colors, and temperature cooling and cozying up to a good book. Don’t have a book to read? Here are some suggestions for you. By the way, I do realize I’m a week late in putting up this. Sorry!
For those who prefer paperbacks, Magic Study by Maria V Snyder, is now out. Holly and Rowena read it already. They both said it was really good. I had to wait for paperback unfortunately. I’ll have to make a run out to the book store and get this one. Valek, here I come!
With her greatest enemy dead, and on her way to be reunited with the family she’d been stolen from long ago, Yelena should be pleased. But though she has gained her freedom, she can’t help feeling isolated in Sitia. Her Ixian background has changed her in many ways–and her newfound friends and relatives don’t think it’s for the better….
Despite the turmoil, she’s eager to start her magic training–especially as she’s been given one year to harness her power or be put to death. But her plans take a radical turn when she becomes involved with a plot to reclaim Ixia’s throne for a lost prince–and gets entangled in powerful rivalries with her fellow magicians.
If that wasn’t bad enough, it appears her brother would love to see her dead. Luckily, Yelena has some old friends to help her with all her new enemies….

Caressed by Ice written by Nalini Singh is being released. I’ve been living under a rock cause I have never heard of these books. It seems that everyone and their moms love this series. So I guess I’m gonna have to get on it and check out these books. Holly has read this one and she loved it. Look for a review soon.
Brenna, a she-wolf Psy, was abducted by a serial killer-and returned a monster. The only person who can help her is Judd, a telekinetic and Council defector. But the passion burning between them could push them both over the edge of sanity.

Moon Fever by Maggie Shayne, Susan Sizemore, Lori Handeland, and Caridad Pineiro comes out. I have never read any these author’s works before although my co worker loves Maggie Shayne.
In “Tempting Fate” by Susan Sizemore, Desiree dreams she spent a passion-filled night with sexy rock star Jon Coyote…and that he told her he was a vampire. But when Desiree discovers she is mysteriously pregnant, her erotic fantasy takes a strangely realistic turn.
An angry ghost is haunting Caroline’s house in “The Darkness Within” by award-winning author Maggie Shayne. But when sexy private investigator Jim Lipton offers to help discover what is going on, Caroline suspects that he has a personal interest in her ghost — and in her.
In “Cobwebs Over the Moon” by Lori Handeland, Manhattanite Carly Kelly is pursued by werewolves across the wintry Alaskan wilderness, and only ruggedly handsome soldier Dylan Shepard stands between her and death.
Lycanthropy takes an exotic tropical twist in “Crazy for the Cat” by Caridad Piñeiro. When scientist Jessica Morales travels to the Amazon jungle, she discovers that beneath the savage grace of her local guide, the handsome Javier da Costa, lurks a hidden wildness that is as tempting as it is dangerous.
For those in love with the Black Dagger Brotherhood, Lover Unbound by J R Ward is coming out. I’m still a little salty she killed Wellsie, so you all need to tell me how this one is.
The ruthless and brilliant brother Vishous possesses a destructive curse and a frightening ability to see the future. As a member of the Brotherhood, he has no interest in love or emotion, only the battle with the Lessening Society. But when a mortal injury puts him in the care of a human surgeon, Dr. Jane Whitcomb compels him to reveal his inner pain and taste true pleasure for the first time-until a destiny he didn’t choose takes him into a future that does not include her…
Until next month! (I promise to be on time.)
CBI – YAY!!!!! I love Nalini Singh’s Psy/Changeling series!
Moon Fever is on my ‘library’ list. I’m hoping one of the libraries purchases it. Lover Unbound too, although I’m not sure I want to read it even if a library gets it in… Butch’s story pretty much ruined the series for me.
The ones I have left on my ‘buy’ list this month are Shelly Laurenston’s Mane Event and KMM’s audiobook version of To Tame a Highland Warrior.
I have the Singh series, and just love it. I want book #4!
Gotta admit, I’m still a sucker for the JR Ward series, and I really do wanna see V as a hero in this one. I sure do miss Wellsie though…
😀 it’s a short month no? not many new releases coming out… sigh, what am I going to do? Buying books cheer me up… but I’ve already pre-ordered most of the releases… ah well, crossing my fingers so that next month, there’ll be more 😀
I was so excited to see that you posted about Maria Snyder! I think her books are great. Poison Study was one of the most original fantasy books I’ve ever read. I’m anxiously awaiting Fire Study’s release. 🙂
Em, I can’t wait for Fire Study, either. I’m so annoyed we have to wait SO long. These publishers need to work on that. LOL
Nath,
Yep, not much coming out this month. Especially compared to last month.
Stacy,
I’m all about the Singh series, too. Sooo good. CBI was fantastic.
Ange,
I’m about over Ward’s books, too. I haven’t decided if I’ll read LU, though. It’s possible Casee will talk me into it. LOL
