Wolf Betrayed by Carrie Ann Ryan
Talon Pack #4
Releases on October 11, 2016 by Carrie Ann Ryan

The Talon Pack continues with the daughter of a traitor, the man who can never be her lover, and another man she should never want…her enemy.

Charlotte Jamenson was born to the Pack that threatened the world, but grew up in the one that saved it. She’s spent her entire life repenting for lies and faults that were never hers to bear. When she falls for her best friend, Bram Devlin, she thinks she’s finally found forgiveness for the blood in her veins; only a mating bond never came.

Bram knows there’s something missing within his mating with Charlotte, but there’s nothing he can do about it. Their Pack is in danger, and it’s his duty to protect their Alpha—even if it means sacrificing his life. When he’s put in charge of protecting a new member of the Talon Pack, he realizes he and Charlotte may just have a chance at something more than heartache.

Shane Bruins sacrificed his life and his future to protect the Packs from the men he worked for. Now, thanks to circumstances beyond his control, he’s not quite who he was before, and his life is on the line yet again. Only this time, he isn’t alone, and the two wolves in his path might be the only things that can calm the beast inside.

The war isn’t coming, it’s here, and the Talon Pack will have to rely on three souls who know they aren’t what each other wants—but exactly what they need—to win.

Excerpt

Any other time, Charlotte might have liked to get to know Walker more, but right then, she could only think of Shane.

Shirtless and sweaty Shane.

The Shane she wanted to lick and taste. Bite. To sink her teeth into until her wolf was finally satisfied, and the woman within her could feast, as well.

Walker left with a stern look at Shane, and Charlotte sucked in a breath, knowing it was a mistake as soon as she did it. He was just so potent. That sweaty and spicy scent coated her tongue and seeped into her pores. Her wolf wanted to roll around it in, and the rest of her wanted to lick it up. Her nipples pebbled against her bra, and she swallowed hard, fighting for her control once again.

“You’re here,” he said roughly, his voice almost a growl.

“I am.” He looked tired, she thought. Now that she could breathe through the lust and think through the recriminations she’d had when she first saw him, she truly got a look at the man who had turned her world over. He hadn’t asked to become what he was, that much she knew to be true. Those she trusted believed Shane’s story about the injection and the fact that he’d run away. She couldn’t help but believe, as no one would ever put their body through what he’d been through on purpose. Though, he wasn’t truly a wolf… not yet, and perhaps not ever. What must it be like to travel along two worlds, one foot in each without a path to move into the one they truly wanted? Of course, Charlotte had lived that before, only on a much different scale. The fact that she and Shane seemed to have something in common, if only somewhat tangible, pulled at her wolf.

Once again, Charlotte was confused… and scared.

Excerpt

Her wolf pounced, pushing at her to go closer.

But she couldn’t.

Because she’d heard a word on the wind she shouldn’t have. The one word that could break her.

Mate.

“Charlotte?” Finn asked. “What is it?” She looked at him, her body swaying. “My wolf…” She pressed her lips together and pushed past him and the others so she could breathe once again. “Charlotte,” Finn said once again when he came to her side. “He’s your mate, isn’t he? That’s why my wolf told me to bring you. Because he’s here… because you needed to be. It’s fate, isn’t it, Charlotte? It’s a twisted, fucked up fate.”

“Fate? You think I believe in fate?” Charlotte took a deep breath then gave a dry laugh. “Oh, Finn. How could I believe in fate? What has the moon goddess ever done for me?”

Finn’s eyes widened, and she wanted to let the tears fall. He’d been through his own hell with the bond between wolf and man, and the bond between him and his mate. Yet she couldn’t think about that, not now, not ever. “Charlotte. You can’t say that. You don’t believe that.”

“I was born to a monster. Chained to a wall for longer than I care to remember. I watched my sister, now mother, die before somehow coming back. I was the one who told them how to kill my brother, Corbin, though they didn’t have the chance. I saw more horrors than you could ever dream of before I even met the Redwoods. And you think the moon goddess blessed me? No. I don’t think so. I might have had time with a family I don’t deserve, but now what does she do? She gives me a mate that sides with the enemy. She gives me the enemy himself.”

Finn reached out, but she took a step back.

“Don’t. Don’t try to make it better. The moon goddess, in all her wisdom, gave me a human to love, a human to cherish. That… I could do. I would embrace humanity with all my heart, even if they don’t embrace us. But she didn’t just give me a human. She gave me a soldier. She gave me a man who wants to kill us. Who wants to hold us captive and dissect us.” And she didn’t let her have the one wolf who should have been hers.

“You don’t know that. He’s not the leader, Charlotte. He could be different from the others.”

She laughed, but it held no humor. “Even better. He’s a pawn with no steel, no strength. He only listens to those that fear us and want to harm us.” She rolled her shoulders and knew she had to be stronger than she was. “I’m done, Finn. I won’t mate with him. I won’t listen to the moon goddess or my wolf. He’s not mine. He’ll never be mine.”

“I’m alone.”

Alone.

Again.

She’d grown up alone. It only made sense she’d die that way, too.

Five Books Everyone Should Read: Author Carrie Ann Ryan

Posted August 23, 2015 by Holly in Features | 2 Comments

Today we have paranormal and contemporary romance author, Carrie Ann Ryan, here to share her Five (ish) list of books. I find it interesting how certain books come up again and again.  Several of my favorites are on this list, proving once again I have excellent taste in Twitter friends. 🙂

Profile2_________________

I’m a late bloomer when it comes to reading romance. I didn’t sneak them when I was a teenager and didn’t find them until Twilight back in 2009. So I didn’t get the first time love affairs with the classics like others here when they first came out. I’ve gone back and read them—especially since reading everyone’s lists here—but my journey was a bit different. I love that we all have such different ways into romance and it just lets me know that I have so much more to read! I couldn’t pick just 5 because I read a book a day still, but I totally cut my list down from 100 to 6 LOL. Each book means something different to me because where I read it and what I felt while reading it. Each book showed me a new genre, a new author, or a new way of writing. I fell in love with these characters; these stories and I try to recommend them each time I have a chance.

coming undone by Lauren DaneComing Undone by Lauren Dane

This book is one of my favorites because I fell in love with not only the hero, the heroine, and some of the side characters, but the entire family. Oh Brody Brown. I love bearded tattooed men and I write them because I can’t help falling in love with them. But Brody was one of my firsts. He is such a Beta too. He can be Alpha when he needs to, but he’s so laid back, that I freaking love him. I really enjoy this entire series and all the series that connect to it. Lauren Dane is one of my all time favorites and I reread her often—this series in particular. I could have picked the first book with Erin, but Brody made me want to write fanfiction for him! LOL This book was sexy and an easy read, even with the tension from the outside conflict. Of course, the heroine Elise was just fantastic. She was strong, a little broken and one fierce momma. I loved her.

Slave to Sensation by Nalini SinghSlave to Sensation by Nalini Singh

This was the book that showed me the true talent and beauty of words of my favorite author of all time. I could have chosen Angel’s Blood or any of the other books in any of her series, but this was the first book I’ve read of Nalini’s. This is the only series where I will STILL go back and read all 12+ books when a new one comes out. The brilliant layering and utter beauty of descriptions make me feel as if she’s in a different level when it comes to writing. I realize that others out there write beautiful as well, but she was my first taste. Lucas was my first taste of danger in a shifter. Where before I had read mostly vampires and their shifters were more…second class, here it was all about the unique blend of animal and man. The fact that this entire world is in a league of its own makes me smile each time I reread it. I’ve broken my paperback of this and had to buy it in kindle because I reread it so much. I love the entire series, but this was my first.

devil in winterDevil in Winter by Lisa Kleypas

This was the first book that I read where a former villain was redeemed. Sure, Sebastian wasn’t a pure villain, but he was darn close for a historical with kidnapping and near-forced marriages. I adored Sebastian and the way he slowly fell in love with Evie and didn’t know it. I loved that he wasn’t pure and perfect but used the traits he’d honed in being a Casanova not only with Evie, but with finding his place in a world where people told him he was only worth his title. Evie was so strong and yet I didn’t know someone with a such a tiny waist and a lisp could be that strong. She was the one to approach him and show him what he could have. She was the one who wouldn’t leave and who tore apart the devil in winter. The chemistry was off the charts and yet so delicately and wonderfully written that I reread this book first before going back and reading all the other books in the series and the spinoff.

the reckoningThe Reckoning by Kelly Armstrong

This book was what I wanted YA to be and showed me the adult romance world as well. I started reading YA and went to UF and then romance. It changed my life and I even write because of it, but this book was a spin off of an adult series by Kelly Armstrong and gave me the backdoor view into a whole new world. So thank you, Kelly! As for this series in particular, I adored the heroine and how she didn’t think she was strong but totally was. Derek…oh Derek. I was totally his “team” from page one, even when he was a butt. I loved their connection and the fact that they realized their connection needed to breathe because of their ages. When he comes for her and sniffs her, needing her scent to calm his heartbeat, I about died right there. I know others do this, but again, this was my first. I still reread this series even though I don’t read YA anymore. I should totally go back and reread now in fact.

savor the momentSavor the Moment by Nora Roberts

I couldn’t make a list about romance without Nora Roberts. I reread all of her trilogies often because I feel like I can go right in and find my place. The Bride Quartet was actually my first series from Nora that I read. I told you I was late to romance! LOL I have my favorites with Nora and I love many of her trilogies, but again, this was my first. I actually picked book three in the series because this was the one that gave me the most chills. I loved the subplots in this one the most and I truly enjoyed the trope of best friend’s older brother. Plus, oh boy, I wanted to eat so much cake after this book!

the duke and IThe Duke and I by Julia Quinn

I’m actually rereading this book right now thanks to this list. When I look for historicals, I find myself looking for Julia Quinn. Often. Her way with words, characters, and hope make me smile and want to turn the page. I enjoyed most of the books in this series but I still think the first book is my favorite. This book had the one scene where I felt chills and my hands shook as I read it. It was where Daphne realizes that she’s lost, that she knows she isn’t good enough for those who should have loved her. Of course that wasn’t the case at all, but I felt those feelings. I reread this book for that scene alone, though I love so much more about it.

Well there you have it. My 5..er…5 books I think everyone should read. I love series. I love romance. I love ALL genres. I count myself lucky that I’m able to immerse myself in different worlds daily and still get an HEA no matter what. I hope you get a chance to check some of these out!

About Carrie Ann:

New York Times and USA Today Bestselling Author Carrie Ann Ryan never thought she’d be a writer. Not really. No, she loved math and science and even went on to graduate school in chemistry. Yes, she read as a kid and devoured teen fiction and Harry Potter, but it wasn’t until someone handed her a romance book in her late teens that she realized that there was something out there just for her. When another author suggested she use the voices in her head for good and not evil, The Redwood Pack and all her other stories were born.

Carrie Ann is a bestselling author of over twenty novels and novellas and has so much more on her mind (and on her spreadsheets grins) that she isn’t planning on giving up her dream anytime soon.

Guest Author (+ a Giveaway!): Carrie Ann Ryan – A Character Interview

Posted April 30, 2013 by Tracy in Giveaways, Promotions | 11 Comments

Hi y’all! Thanks so much for having me and my crew here today. I took some time out of our busy day to sit down with Ambrose, Jamie, and Balin from my book, Her Warriors’ Three Wishes which is the second book in the Dante’s Circle Series. I can’t wait to see what they say. Carrie Ann: Thank you three for coming! How are you guys?

Ambrose: Busy, but glad the book is finally out.

Jamie: Tell me about it! I feel like we’ve been waiting forever for our story to be told.

Balin: True. Why did it take so long?

Carrie Ann: I see it’s going to be one of those types of interviews where my characters ask me questions…okay…as for taking so long? Well, book 1, Dust of My Wings came out less than a year ago and because of other commitments, I had to wait a bit for you three, but don’t worry, your story is out to the masses now. And book 3, An Unlucky Moon, will be out in September, so it’s not as big as a wait. Okay, so tell me, what is it like to be in a ménage?

Jamie: *blushes* Amazing.

Balin: *chuckles* Considering I thought I was dying and would never find one mate, let alone two? Yeah, I’m happy as hell.

Ambrose: It’s different since we have to take three people in account at all times. Communication is even more important now since we want to make sure the three of us are happy and to make sure we’re happy as duos within that trio at the same time.

Carrie Ann: You said that perfectly, Ambrose. I get questions all the time as to how two big, strong men can share a woman and not get angry and I don’t understand that at all.

Jamie: I don’t either. I mean, It’s not like I’m a piece of meat they fight over. They both work together to make me happy the same way I work with Balin to make Ambrose happy and work with Ambrose to make Balin happy. We’re a true triad so we always have another person to rely on for help, you know?

Carrie Ann: Totally. Okay, let’s get some background info for the new readers, shall we? Ambrose, you’re an angel. Tell me about that.

Ambrose: I’m of the warrior class, so it’s my job to protect the angelic realm from war and other disaters. I’m the sword of justice for a council who lays the laws. I’m also the lead trainer for new warriors so I work with the younger angels when I have time.

Carrie Ann: *grins* I’d be scared if I were a young angel working for you.

Balin: *laughs* Tell me about it. All he needs to do is frown and the younglings run in the other direction.

Ambrose: *glowers* I’m not that bad.

Carrie Ann: *looks the other way and whistles* Uh, so Balin, you’re a demon.

Balin: Smooth, Carrie Ann. Yes, I’m a demon. Though I’m not the same as the soul-sucking ones I left behind. I don’t feed on humans like my brethren.

Jamie: *hugs Balin close*

Carrie Ann: Now, Jamie, we aren’t going to talk about what you turn into since that’ll be a spoiler, but tell me a bit about how you got here.

Jamie: Well, in Dust of My Wings me and seven of my friends were struck by lightning. That caused a shift in our DNA that led us to here. You see, humans aren’t really human in our world. Each human is actually a diluted version of a supernatural. So the lightning strike ceased that dormant DNA to act oddly. So once we find our true half we can turn into the supernatural creature we were meant to be.

Carrie Ann: Thank you for explaining. So, before we go, anything to tell us about the future?

Jamie: Well, next up I think you’ll see Hunter and Jamie since they have something to talk about. Also, I think Fawkes has a story to tell if you do what you want to do.

Carrie Ann: *grins* Oh, I have an idea for him. Thanks so much for coming and thanks so much for letting us stop by!

Her Warriors’ Three Wishes Blurb

Humans aren’t as alone as they choose to believe. Every human possesses a trait of supernatural that lays dormant within their genetic make-up. Centuries of diluting and breeding have allowed humans to think they are alone and untouched by magic. But what happens when something changes?

Ambrose Griffin is older than most, if not all, civilizations. As each year passes, he submerses himself into his training, only relaxing around his protégée and friend, Shade. After losing his wife and children in the last Angelic Wars, he guards his heart and has no desire to share it with another.

Bookkeeper and romance novel enthusiast, Jamie Bennett dreams of being swept off her feet by a white knight. However, her life is no romance book. Since meeting Ambrose—a sexy, delicious angel—she’s been twisted inside out and doesn’t know why. Things are happening that she can’t control and now her life is in danger.

Balin Drake is stuck in hell, literally. His life of refusing to take souls, even though it’s part of his demon nature, has caught up with him. He’s dying and now must search for his true half, but even a mating may not save him. When he meets the two people who could fill that part, he’ll need to fight for something he hasn’t felt in over a century—hope.

Warning: Contains a rigid angel who needs a certain sexy woman to help him unwind, a book keeper who finds herself the creamy center of the best cookie ever, and a demon who has a certain taste for pressing them both against walls.

Excerpt

The demon’s scream was cut short as Ambrose sliced off his head. Its decapitated head stared back at Ambrose, his eyes wide and full of the fear he should have had from the beginning. Though the others in hell couldn’t tell Ambrose was a warrior angel, and thereby thought he must have been just a normal demon, he thought at least the stupid soldier wouldn’t have tried to kill him by himself.

The other man had had a weak technique and even weaker body.

It was no wonder the lowly demon had died so suddenly.

He wiped his blade on the clothes of the dead demon and sheathed it. He’d have to clean it fully when he got back to the other realm. At least, he hoped he could get back. He hadn’t devised a plan in which to do so, but he hoped that Dante’s friend Balin could aid him in that respect.

Ambrose looked out onto the barren wasteland of the hell realm and shook his head. Throughout his years, he’d yet to spend any significant amount of time here. In fact, he’d only been here once before, during the last angel and demon war, a millennia or two ago.

There were no children running in the streets, no laughter or promise filling the empty space.

No, this was a place of death, the place humans fought so hard and with such vehemence not to make it to.

It was just too bad that sometimes the demons brought them, not the humans themselves. That was why, if he could find this Balin, he’d save him along with Jamie. The demon hadn’t taken a soul and was dying for it. Ambrose would find a way to protect the man.

Those Sexy Cooper Brothers

Oh, this is one of my favorite topics. I love the Cooper brothers. Five sexy, competent men who each have a story to be told. Each of them has a career, an attitude, a personality, and something sexy about them. You’ll meet each of them in their own books in the Holiday, Montana series. Plus, they’re in each book to make sure you don’t forget them.
Ha, like I could ever do that.
I love starting a new series and finding a new family to love—particularly when that family includes five hunky, independent, swoon-worthy men. Uh huh, I’m talking about the Cooper brothers. You’ll meet each of these boys—no, men—in my Holiday, Montana series.
But what I really want to do here is let y’all know about the Cooper brothers. These handsome men are as tight a crew as any brethren and only have themselves to depend on. I thought I’d introduce you to them now and you can meet them more in their own books in the Holiday, Montana series.
Matt Cooper is the hero of Charmed Spirits and is the youngest of them all at thirty. He owns the hardware store in town and as a teenager was in love with Jordan Cross—the town witch and outcast. He’s loved her all this time, yet he thought he’d long lost that. He’s a laid back guy, always there for those who need him. Some may even call him a Beta, but only where it counts. Because believe me, and Jordan, he’s Alpha when it’s needed. He also has a secret or two, but I’m not telling.
Justin Cooper is school principal and ex-bad boy of the Cooper clan and the hero of my current release, Santa’s Executive. He’s always been the one that did what he wanted, when he wanted. But after an accident as a teen, he changed gears a bit and now cares more about others than himself. He may just need to meet someone else to help him realize that he’s more than just the ex-bad boy and has something more to give than just his time.
Tyler Cooper is the town sheriff and ladies’ man as well as the hero of my upcoming Finding Abigail. He may be the love ‘em and leave ‘em type, but he’s up front about it. He’s not callous in his attentions, but the ladies that may fall for him knew the score to begin with. Though there may be a woman in town that could change all that, he’s sworn to protect the town rather than his heart.
Brayden Cooper is the town mechanic and the quiet one of the family as well as the hero of the upcoming Her Lucky Love. Though he’ll laugh and joke with his brothers, no one really knows quite who he is. He is, however, the man who will always be there for anyone. Especially a certain single-mother who is in desperate need of help.
Jackson Cooper is the town dentist and has the worst temper of the bunch and will get his story in Dreams of Ivory. No one really knows why he’s so angry, but there has to be a reason. Plus, even though the evidence is mounting in the town that magic exists, it still seems like nonsense to him. Magic can’t exist in his opinion, because if it did….things would have been different.
Well, those are my Cooper men. What do y’all think? I hope you guys get a chance to meet these men in their own books. Each book will be coming out for each holiday from now until July. So not only will the magic happen, you’ll get to meet the Coopers quickly. I hope you get a chance to read my latest release, FINDING ABIGAIL! Thank you so much!!

Brayden Cooper has always been lucky. It’s in his blood and in the coin that he has hanging on a leather tie around his neck. He has everything in the world he could ever want, money: a job, brothers he loves, and the luck that comes with his powers. Yet he’s empty. Everyone but him knows  he loves Allison, yet it’s going to take something stronger than luck to bring them together.
Allison Malone is exhausted. After the death of her abusive husband, her hell of a marriage is finally over and now she’s alone with her three children that are the center of her world. Long hours at work, plus mommy duty at home are taking its toll on her and that’s not the worst of it. Her late husband’s family is in town and they want her children.
The outsiders have secrets of their own and it’s going to take all of the Coopers, especially Brayden’s, help to save them. When trouble attacks, Allison will have to remember that she’s also a woman who needs love, and Brayden might be the one to give that to her.
Warning: Contains one sexy mechanic with a lucky streak, a waitress who needs to give into her temptations, and a love so fierce it’s bound to set the sheets on fire. Again.

Find it on:

Excerpt:
Brayden Cooper got out of his truck and stretched, his back aching like a man older than his years. Though, in reality, he wasn’t as young as he used to be.
He’d dropped off Ally and her kids at their apartment then took the car to the shop. When he’d left the Malones’, the kids had protested. Lacy, though cute as a freaking button, had pouted, her eyes filling with tears.
He hated leaving them, but he had a job to do. And, frankly, he couldn’t stand watching Allison move away from him every time he got a bit closer. It pained him like a swift blade piercing his heart every time her smile gave him an inch or hint of invitation just before she stepped back as soon as she’d realized what she’d done.
