Pretend You’re Mine (Benevolence #1) by Lucy Score | 5 out of 5

My absolute favorite book of the month was Pretend You’re Mine (Benevolence #1) by Lucy Score. I loved both the hero & heroine. I loved their story & I loved getting to know the town of Benevolence. My least favorite book of the month was Storm Warrior (Grim #1) by Dani Harper. It started out really good, but the heroine was TSTL & she didn’t better.

Holly

I managed to read 15 books in March, which is a minor miracle considering how busy things have been at work.

The Wedding (Lairds’ Fiancees #2) by Julie Garwood (reread) | 4.75 out of 5
The King’s Queen (Gate of Myth and Power #3) by K.M. Shea | 3.75 out of 5

Castle Hill (On Dublin Street #1.5) by Samantha Young (reread) | 4 out of 5

One Last Shot (Frozen Hearts #3) by Julia Connors | 3.75 out of 5
The Dark Elf’s Secret Baby (Secret Babies for Prothekan Dark Elves #1) by Celeste King | 2 out of 5
The Dark Elf’s Surprise Baby (Secret Babies for Prothekan Dark Elves #2) by Celeste King | 1 out of 5
Dog with a Bone (Black Dog #1) by Hailey Edwards | 3 out of 5
Power Play (Blades Hockey #1) by Maria Luis (audio) | 3.25 out of 5
Body Check (Blades Hockey #4) by Maria Luis (audio) | 4 out of 5
Spring Breeze (Hollywood Connections #2) by Lily Alexander | 3.5 out of 5
Kiss Me Tonight (Put a Ring On It #2) by Maria Luis (audio) | DNF

My favorite read of the month was Body Check by Maria Luis. It hit all the right notes for me. My least favorite read was The Dark Elf’s Surprise Baby by Celeste King. Honestly, I’m disappointed in myself for finishing it. It was bad all the way around.

I read A Tempest at Sea by Sherry Thomas, A Sinister Revenge by Deanna Raybourn and The Counterfeit Scoundrel by Lorraine Heath. My least favorite was The Counterfeit Scoundrel. The series centers around three friends, yet the book barely mentions two of the heroes. Usually the first book in a series sets up the story arcs of future books, but this novel didn’t describe any future plotlines or characters. Plus, the first book just wasn’t that interesting.

I always enjoy the Lady Sherlock books; they’re so well-written. However, I was a little surprised about Charlotte’s lack of page time. She really wasn’t the central character in this book, but we did get a lot of Lord Ingram’s POV. It was interesting to get his take on the current mystery and his relationship with Charlotte.

Some of my favorite reads in March were ~

**Hither Page (Page & Sommers Book 1) by Cat Sebastian
**the first three Seafort Saga books by David Feintuch
**End of Story by Kylie Scott
**rereads of the Linesmen books by SK Dunstall
**reread of Kensho by Lyn Gala

Least favorite reads were abandoned unfinished.

I read 12 books in March. My favorites were THE PLAYING GAME (m/f, hockey) by Ainsley Booth and TO PROTECT AND LOVE (m/m, bodyguard) by Romeo Alexander. My least favorite book was BITTER PLAY (m/f, football-adjacent) by Allison Rhymes which had such a horrible, stalkerish hero, I had to DNF about halfway through.

worst book and writing: Double Dare R.L. Mathewson
The Inmate by Freida McFadden was interesting

  5. Glenda M

I started the month with Shana Galen’s Saved by the Belle and Natalie Cana’s A Proposal They Can’t Refuse, read all of Grace Callaway’s Lady Charlie’s Angels series, Julia Kent’s Do Over series, and Kait Nolan’s new Kilted Hearts series — all of which I really enjoyed. I loved A Half-Baked Murder as a series started by Emily George. My least favorite was Anne Stuart’s The Absolutely Positively Worst Man in England, Scotland and Wales
