Casee: I am reading Diamond Fire by Ilona Andrews. I have no earthly idea why I waited so long to read it. I love the Hidden Legacy series. I’m really enjoying both Catalina and Arabella in this book. Especially Arabella. She’s hilarious.

I’m listening to More of You by A.L. Jackson. It’s my first book by this author. I’m not quite sure how I feel about the book yet. I’m almost finished with it, but my feelings are mixed.

Holly: I finished listening to Falling Into Bed with a Duke by Lorraine Heath and reading Long Shot by Kennedy Ryan. Then I read Long Shot by Kennedy Ryan for our Summer Reading Challenge, which kicked my ass (emotionally) and listened to Royally Yours by Emma Chase, which was a lovely read. Finally, I re-read Games of the Heart by Kristen Ashley.

That’s it for me for the week. I’m not sure what I’m going to read now. I need to read Hope’s Folly by Linnea Sinclair and Marry Me by Jo Goodman to finish out the Summer Reading Challenge, so I might try those next.

Rowena: This week was for book club so I had to loads of reading to do. I finished Count to Ten (Romantic Suspense #6) by Karen Rose and enjoyed how dark and scary it was. The romance was sweet and lightened the darkness of the killings and fires so I was a happy camper with that one. After that, I listened to Written in Red (The Others #1) by Anne Bishop for our Summer Reading Challenge and I read Brazen and the Beast (The Bareknuckle Bastards #2) by Sarah MacLean. I enjoyed Written in Red but not as much as I thought I would. The beginning was really slow to me but it picked up in the end so I wasn’t too unhappy with that. I freaking LOVED Brazen and the Beast. Sarah MacLean did her thing with that one and I’m super thirsty for the next book already.

Now, I’m reading The Wallflower Wager (Girl Meets Duke #3) by Tessa Dare and it’s still early days for that one but so far, it’s really good. I’m also listening to Never Have I Ever by Lauren Blakely.

But when he learns of Lavinia's desperate circumstances, he offers to find her a husband. Even better, he'll find her a prince.

As usual, there's no problem Parth can't fix. But the more time he spends with the beguiling Lavinia, the more he finds himself wondering…

Heart of Venom by Jennifer Estep. The books in this Elemental Assassin series are so good.

Two great books read this week. First, MAGGIE’S RUN by Kelly Hunter, part of the Outback Brides series. Heroine inherits a run-down sheep station in the Australian outback and, with the help of a neighboring rancher she has known since childhood, renovates the property. A lovely, melancholy, beautifully-written story. Second, Molly O’Keefe’s ONE LAST CHANCE about a married couple who have been separated for most of their ten-year marriage. This one is so angsty and so emotional! I cried when the h&h finally got back together. Both books are highly recommended.

    • I had little reading time this weekend, but I plan to start it tonight. I feel like I may have read it at some point in the past, but I’m not 100% certain. We’ll see how it goes.

An English Bride in Scotland by Lynsay Sands ended up being a re-read. I’d forgotten that I’d already read it. Enjoyed it tho.

I just finished Nora Roberts’ book, Under Currents. I was a little disappointed. The book deals with domestic violence which is bad enough, but she made the villain’s actions so over-the-top that it hurt the plot.

    Recent reads here ~

    — The 5th Gender: A Tinkered Stars Mystery by G. L. Carriger. The author is Gail Carriger, but she uses this pen name for her books with adult content. It’s a male/alien romance.
    — Medusa Uploaded by Emily Devenport which I enjoyed. I’m not sure though if I will continue on with the next book in the series. (Significant violence) This is science fiction.
    — And many samples that have accumulated on my Kindle.

I just finished Jane Doe by Victoria Helen Stone (Victoria Dahl). It was a totally satisfying revenge story and I loved Jane who labeled herself as a sociopath. Currently I’m in the middle of Someone To Honor by Mary Balogh and enjoying it more than the previous one which seemed a bit slow-paced.

    • I really liked Jane Doe. I agree that it was totally satisfying. I have her next two books in my TBR pile, but haven’t gotten to them yet.
