WAYR-New

Casee: I am just finishing up Dark Legacy by Christine Feehan. It isn’t my favorite in this series and I can’t quite pinpoint why. I’m not sure what to read next. I have quite a few choices. I’m not sure if I want to stick with paranormal or go back to contemporary. Or if I should be really wild and read a historical. Hello Stranger by Lisa Kleypas is quietly calling to me. I am told that I need to read the entire series, which I’m not sure I want to commit to.

Holly: This week I tried to focus on reading new books rather than re-reading. I finished Crimes Against Magic by Steve McHugh, which was good. I have the second book and plan to start it shortly. I started listening to A Merciful Truth by Kendra Elliot, but I wasn’t in the right frame of mind and traded it for Wildfire by Ilona Andrews instead. Then I read Snowfall and Secrets by Kimberly Loth. The story was just okay. Something about the writing didn’t really work for me. And the hero said asshat stuff the heroine didn’t call him out for. I might try the next book in the series, but I’m not sure yet. I started Shadow Wings by Raye Wagner and Kelly St. Clare, but I set it aside after a few chapters when I realized it was book 2 in the series and I was pretty lost. The premise was good so I may go back to book 1 next.

Right now I’m reading Dragon’s Oath by Sophie Steg. I’m about 7 chapters in and enjoying it.

Rowena: I haven’t read a hot damn thing all week. I can’t concentrate on the book that I’m reading, which is If You Don’t Have Anything Nice to Say by Leila Sales and I have been trying to read this book for the last week. I don’t know if I should give it up and try something else or what but I need to do something. Maybe I’ll jump out of this book and start The Hookup by Erin McCarthy. Yeah, that’s what I’m going to do. Wish me luck.

I finished reading The High Tide Club by Mary Kay Andrews which was great and will be reading Digging In by Loretta Nyhan next.

  2. Natalija

I’m reading The Highlander (Victorian Rebels, #3) by Kerrigan Byrne. So far it’s very good.

    Some recent reads here ~

    — I continued on with T. Hammond’s Team Red series which I began last week and have now read Color Blind (Team Red, #2), Blind Faith (Team Red, #3), Blind Rage (Team Red, #4), Blind-sided (Team Red, #5), and Blind Luck (Team Red, #6).

This is a series that should definitely be read in order. The first volume is currently free to Kindle readers. Blind Seduction: Team Red, Book 1 by T. Hammond at https://www.amazon.com/Blind-Seduction-Team-Red-Book-ebook/dp/B00C8UB0JK/ref=la_B00BS93JK0_1_1?s=books&ie=UTF8&qid=1523067552&sr=1-1&refinements=p_82%3AB00BS93JK0
    — How to Stop Time by Matt Haig – This an enjoyable novel about a man who ages incredibly slowly. When the story begins he looks about forty but is over five hundred years old. The story raises some interesting questions about life and more.
    — A Country Christmas by Josi Kilpack, Carla Kelly, and Jennifer Moore. I was interested in reading this collection of historical romance novellas because it contained a work by a favorite author, Carla Kelly. I very much enjoyed Kelly’s The Christmas Angle (no, that is not a spelling error) and look forward to her forthcoming book which will continue the story of these two characters. The other two stories left me untouched.
    — the contemporary romance suspense work Whispers to the Heart by Kimberly Reeves which is currently free to Kindle readers. I finished this but the description was more appealing than the story.

Interestingly, I’m in the ‘last’ book in my backwards reading of the Ravenel series. i read my e-copy of Hello Stranger and decided to reread all the books one at a time… I’m weird that way.
