Have you ever wondered what happens in Ireland?

When Australian, Kate Barrow, meets a handsome Irishman in a Dublin bar, she has no idea that he is about to turn her world upside-down and inside-out.

In Ireland to take on a position on a thoroughbred stud, Kate is shocked when her manager-in-co reveals himself to be the same man she'd met in Dublin.

Jack is drawn to Kate. The problem is, she won't have him. But Jack has always loved a challenge and the intriguing woman from Oz is one he cannot resist.

Harbouring the sting of another man's betrayal, Kate is certain she wants nothing to do with love and nothing to do with Jack O'Reilly. But when naked torsos, Mother Nature and dysfunctional umbrellas start plotting against her resolve, she realizes the charms of an Irishman are going to be hard to resist.

Tracy’s review of What Happens in Ireland by Whitney K-E

Kate is an Australian who is has taken a job in Ireland. The first night she’s in the country she’s in a pub in Dublin soaking up the atmosphere. She meets a charming Irishman who ends up kissing her at the end of the night. Thrilled though she is to be kissed she plans on never seeing the man again.

The next day she meets her new boss at the stables she’ll be working at and lo and behold who is her boss, the man she kissed! Jack is the son of the owners of the stud farm and he is gorgeous and charming. Kate does everything in her power to push Jack away but he’s darned persistent in his pursuit of Kate. Kate was hurt four years before (at the tender age of 18) and she trusts no man. Kate pushes Jack away at every turn and uses jibes and sarcasm to protect herself. Unfortunately this only last so long and soon Kate finds herself in bed with Jack. Even more unfortunate is that while Jack is completely smitten Kate still allows the past to run her life and she almost misses out on an awesome relationship.

This is a debut novel by Australian Whitney K-E. It was well done and I enjoyed the writing a whole lot. That being said I did have a couple of issues with the book, mostly with Kate.

Kate was a dweller. She was constantly dwelling on the past and her relationship with Michael. We know he deceived her and broke her heart(as this was mentioned consistently throughout the book) but even after four years she still was so focused on Michael. I honestly wasn’t sure if she was ready for another relationship and that bothered me. Jack was so wonderful – funny, fun, all around wonderful…he was really the whole package and I sometimes felt that Kate really wasn’t the woman for him.

Despite those few issues I thought the book was charming. Though I felt it got somewhat slow in the middle it picked up again and gave me the HEA I was looking for. This was a delightful book and I’m looking forward to reading book 2, Deceive Me in Ireland.
