Rowena‘s review of Extreme Exposure (The I-Team Series, Book 1) by Pamela Clare.

Hero: Reese Sheridan
Heroine: Kara McMillan
Grade: 5 out of 5

Sparks fly when a hard boiled reporter meets a handsome senator. But a political scandal-and attempts on her life-could drive them apart. Or maybe adversity could draw them into a bond even more intense than their steamy sexual embraces.

I don’t know why I waited so hot damn long to read this book. I’ve been meaning to finish out the rest of the series since I read Unlawful Contact all those many months ago but finally, finally I read this book and I frickin’ loved it!

Man, I don’t know what it is about those politicians but Reese Sheridan was a total fox and I ate him up! This book had everything in it, steamy love scenes, a fantastic storyline and characters that I absolutely loved! You can’t go wrong with this book. The series is shaping up to be another favorite of mine and can I just say that Pamela Clare is the business? Cause she is. She writes some amazing stories that wraps you all up in her world and makes you sad that you’ve finished her books. She has an incredible writing voice and I just absolutely love her.

This book follows Kara McMillan and Reese Sheridan. Kara is a hard nosed journalist who is trying to raise her son on her own and still be the best writer she can be. Reese is a smexy senator who has his own set of issues and has a bimbo looking sister. This story follows Kara as she tries to uncover a story that has a whole lot of danger involved for people trying to poke their nose where it doesn’t belong. Kara can’t walk away from the story because it’s a really good one and because she can’t stay away, things get a little ugly. On top of the story drama, she’s trying to be a good mother to her 4 year old son, Connor and she’s trying not to fall in love with sexy Senator Sheridan.

I loved the chemistry between Reese and Kara. You could feel the sexual tension building between the two right from their very first scene together. I thought Clare did an extraordinary job of drawing their romance together. Between the romance brewing between these two, the story that Kara was chasing and just every other dang thing was an exciting roller coaster that I just fell in love with. This book is as my friends would say when they’re really excited about something, is “the business”. I can’t say enough good things about this book.

Reese was a hot one. I loved him. Like totally luh-oved him. He was so smexy that he made me want to find him and jump his bones. He was smart, he was sexy and he was oh so swoonworthy. I loved him. *sigh*

Kara was a great heroine as well and her and Reese were such a great pair. I enjoyed getting to know the both of them. Together and apart they were great. Pamela Clare sure does know how to write entertaining, engaging and very charming stories that never fail to get me. I loved it and I can’t wait to read the next book in this series. Love, love, loved it! If you haven’t started this series then you totally should because it’s the bomb!

  1. I liked this one too. My favorite of the series so far is Hard Evidence – love Julian!

I’m with limecello – looking forward to Naked Edge.

    Great review. 🙂

  2. Uh-oh, it’s never good news for my nerves when I see a book in my tbr and a review that starts with “I don’t know why I waited so hot damn long to read this book. “

    Guess I better get crackin’.

  3. This was my least favourite of the series but I keep meaning to give it another read to see if I like it better the second time around. And now I have a book for the reread challenge!!

I find romantic suspense to be a genre I’m just not that into… That said, I loved this line in your review (made me laugh out loud):
Reese is a smexy senator who has his own set of issues and has a bimbo looking sister.
