Books I’m Looking Forward To

Posted September 22, 2009 by Tracy in Reviews | 15 Comments

Just a few of the books I’m looking forward to reading:

J.R. Ward‘s Covet (Sept. 29). I’m crossing my fingers that this book will be as good as the first 3 books in the Black Dagger Brotherhood series. Am I delusional? We’ll see.

Cover Me by L.B. Gregg (Oct. 2) is one I will buy and love as much as I’ve loved her other books, I’m sure.
Demon Forged by Meljean Brook (Oct. 6). I. Love. This. Series. Can’t wait to read this newest book!

Deep Kiss of Winter by Kresley Cole and Gena Showalter (Oct. 13). This will be a shorter story as Cole shares the book, but I’m sure the story will no less riveting than the rest of her stories in the IAD series.

Blaze of Memory by Nalini Singh (Nov. 3). How I long for each book in the Psy/Changeling series. Is it bad to want to be a changeling? Or at least be mated to one? No? Good.

Hidden Fire by Jo Davis (Dec. 1). I think I’m in love with most of the guys from Station Five. Who doesn’t love a hot firefighter I ask you?

I’ll not get into the releases for 2010 because I could just go on and on. Ok, I’ll mention 3:

1. Pleasure of A Dark Prince by Kresley Cole (Jan 2010). I’ve been waiting for this story since the first book in the series and am very excited to read Garreth and Lucia’s story.
2. Ecstasy Unveiled by Larissa Ione (Jan. 2010) – I love the series and am excited to see what happens with Lore.
3. The Dark Tide (release date a mystery as of right now) by Josh Lanyon. This will be book 5 in the Adrien English mystery series. I want this book!

I just noticed that I didn’t post any releases for historical romances…which I love and read on a regular basis. Huh. Maybe I’ll have to do another post. 🙂

What books are you looking forward to reading?

  1. Girl you got some hot stuff up there!!! Just go peek at my side bar to see what I am waiting for!!!! Some hottness of my own!!!
I hope that JR Ward delivers to you. I know how you loved the first 3.
Thanks for giving me some new releases!!!
I hope you have a great night and have a wonderful tomorrow!

  2. I really like the cover for JR's new book. I haven't read het in a long time but this new series may pull me back in.

I've not read any books by LB Gregg. Are they good?

I loved reading Kresley Cole though it's been a while. Hot cover, too.

  3. Am I delusional?

Ahhh….can I come back to you on that please? *grin* Considering my response to Lover Avenged I am withholding all comment on Covet until I read it. I just wish her heroines were a little more….ordinary. Reading about absolutely gorgeous, super-intelligent heroines…it's kind of…monotonous (although that is rather a harsh word, I admit).

I'm hanging out for Blaze of Memory (I *heart* Nalini Singh) and also Lisa Kleypas' Tempt Me At Twilight!

Is it bad to want to be a changeling? Or at least be mated to one? No? Good.

Nope, 'cause I want the same thing! Actually, even just being adopted into the pack would be fine. The feeling of family that exudes from the book is extraordinary…and so warming… *SIGH*

  4. Cecile – you've got some great ones on your sidebar. I've been ogling them. 🙂
Yes, the first 3 BDB books were my fav. Love them like no other BDB books since. *sigh* I can only pray. 🙂

Lily – I'll let you know. All I can say is that I'm THRILLED that it's coming out in PB. 🙂
LB Gregg…you've not read? Oh you need to fix that sweetie. Good stuff.

Orannia – Yes, you can get back to me on my delusions. lol I know what you mean. It all started with Butch… lol
I love Singh – and of course Kleypas. I need to start that Hathaway series so I can catch up to her new releases.
Ohhhh – changeling adoption! Great idea. Although being a mate of one would be ideal that's a good idea to get me in the family as well. 🙂

  5. Can't wait for Covet and LB's Cover Me! Blaze of Memory is another book which will be a release day purchase. Been meaning to try the Jo Davis series, but haven't gotten to it yet! (But, I will, eventually.)

OK, you me and orannia. So want to be in Hawke's pack. 😉

I can't wait for Frostbitten, Kelley Armstrongs next Otherworld book. Also: Carolyn Jewel's Indiscreet, Ilona Andrews' On the Edge, and Stephanie Laurens' The Untamed Bride which starts her new Black Cobra quartet.

  6. LOL, most of these books are on my list: the Meljean Brook (seems like this year, we didn't get enough of The Guardian series), the Nalini Singh definitively! and the anthology by Cole and Showalter… Luckily, I'll be in the States and so, should be able to get it for cheaper 😀 Woohooo!

  7. Renee – Yes, being in Hawk's pack would be fab but I'm thinking I need to be a cat of some sort. Which is odd since I get along with dogs better than cats…uh, I mean wolves better than leopards. 🙂
Good list of books you're looking forward to – I'll have to check those out.

CJ – I know, these covers are great – and not all man titty. 🙂

Nath – yes, you'll be in the states and be able to get them easier! Bring an extra suitcase just to fill with books!

  8. Can't wait for Covet and Cover Me!!!!
I really need to start reading Meljean Brook too! I have her series in my tbr..I have heard such great things about Demon Forged.

  9. I'm impressed by how many series you read! I'm looking forward to reading Jill Sorenson's new book and digging into a couple Secrets (Red Sage) books I just got 🙂

  10. You got some good ones! Of course, can't wait for COVER ME, but I'm looking forward to a couple of Sarah McCarty's westerns in the next couple of months and hope they are a reurn to the quality of her PROMISE series.

  11. Mandi – oh you should definitely read the Guardian series by Meljean Brook. The woman just has a way with words – I love her books.

Katie – you know I find lately that I'm reading more series than not which is odd. I have dropped a few over the years but these are great.

Rosie – Sarah McCarty! Of course. I still need to read the last 2 in the Promise series and of course the Hell's Eight series – how could I forget about Tucker's Claim coming out? Too many books. 🙂

  12. I'm going to be evil and say that Blaze of Memory is good. It's more about the Forgotten and the Psy than it is about the changelings, *although*, Singh does manage to still slip in some great changeling moments and even a couple of twists concerning them.

With every book it only becomes more evident that it really is all tied together very well.

  13. Covet isn't due out till the 29th?? I saw it in Walmart yesterday…I almost bought it! Now i wish i would have. I just feel so guilty adding to my TBR pile!! I dont know why I thought it was going to be a hardback like the last BDB, but it was a little paperback. I prefer that though…cheaper!

  14. KMont – you are so evil teasing us like that about BoM! I just love her books and she really does have a wonderful gift with bringing the story together – not only in the individual books but the story arc as a whole.

Nicole – You saw it yesterday?? I know you feel guilty but you should run back and get it! lol
I thought it was gonna be HC too but when I looked it up on Amazon I was thrilled to see that it was mmpb. Thank heavens!
