Fifteen years ago, sorceress Arlana created something evil. It now threatens to destroy the kingdom she calls home. To defeat it, she must fulfill her destiny. Not only does the future of the realm hang in the balance, so does the life of her beloved Prince Garrett.

Magic, treachery and loyalty gives Prince Garrett reason to doubt, to resist…and love Arlana. When she asks him to set honor aside and tie his blood with hers, can he sort through the scars left on his heart and accept the obstinate sorceress?
Is love enough to save a kingdom in crisis?

Arlana was found by a knight when she was 4 years old and when no one claimed her he raised her as her own. She is now a sorceress, unbeknownst to any, and helps her king during times of war. She has seen the demise of the kingdom and must do everything in her power to stop it.

Garrett, the prince, has returned from 5 years at war and is seeing Arlana in a new light – considering she’s now 19 instead of a gangly 14 year old. He’s not sure what he’s feeling for her but he wants to spend more and more time with her.

When Arlana tells Garrett and his best friend Logan about her powers and what she has seen in her crystal ball they make a plan to save the king and his kingdom. What Arlana hasn’t told anyone is that in order to save the kingdom she must die so that the evil Wizard’s Life’s Breath will be pulled from him.

Arlana has fallen in love with Garrett but knows they can never be together. She is willing to sacrifice all for her love for him. But will she really have to sacrifice or will Garrett be the one who needs to change in order for their lives to continue?

This was a great little novella. I was pulled into it after reading the prologue and didn’t want to put it down until it was done. I was anxious to see how Arlana was going to save the kingdom and I really wanted to know how things turned out with Garrett. For a story that wasn’t a full length novel the characters were well done and I felt as if I knew Arlana well by the end.

  1. Thank Nath. You know, I’m a novella fan. There are so many out there that aren’t but what can I say? I love those short, quick reads that introduce me to new to me authors or give me a little slice out of a series I’m already into.

And yes – very nice cover. Nice chest – carry a big sword.
