Review: Love Me Still by Maya Banks

Genres: Paranormal Romance

Beloved mate to two wolves, Heather lived an idyllic life until hunters destroyed the pack’s peaceful existence.

Believing their mate betrayed them and was responsible for their father’s death, Cael and Riyu cut Heather from their lives. But when they realize their terrible mistake, can they ever gain her forgiveness and win back her love?

This book was just meh. It started out really good. Returning to her pack after being ambushed, Heather is absolutely devastated when her mates Cael and Riyu denounce her as their mate and leave her in the snow to die. Heather has no idea why Cael and Riyu have turned their backs on her. She also has little hope of surviving in the woods with a broken leg among other injuries.

Cael and Riyu can’t believe that their mate would betray their pack. They can’t discount their father, who on his deathbed, told them both that Heather was the one that betrayed them, thus causing his death. It’s only when their packmate, Nico, returns that Cael and Riyu learn what really happened and how they have wronged the woman that they so desperately loved.

Let me just say first, the way that the pack left Heather in the snow to die was effed up. The author did do a good job of getting me to feel her desolation at the loss of her mates. No one should have to go through what Heather went through and that was the most powerful part of the book.

I just think it ended too abruptly, especially considering what turning her away did to Heather. Cael and Riyu got off way too easy. I would have been happy if she would have ended up w/ Nico.

3 out of 5.

  1. I don’t think the part about her being left out in the cold would bother me. That’s what wolves do, and I usually think of werewolves in books as more wolf than human.

BUT…I’m kind of tired of menage, especially when there’s no m/m element, so I’ll prolly pass on this one.

I haven’t found a good, satisfying Maya Banks book since Overheard. That one was soooo yummy.

Great review though! I love your honesty.
