Hero: Sir Simon Westscott
Heroine: Catriona Kincaid
Grade: 4.75 out of 5

Some like it dangerous . . .

Highland beauty Catriona Kincaid cares nothing for propriety—or even her own safety—when she storms the grounds of Newgate Prison. Determined to return to Scotland and restore her clan’s honor, she seeks the help of Sir Simon Wescott, a disgraced nobleman and notorious rogue. She is prepared to offer him both wealth and freedom, but she never dreams the wicked rake will be bold enough to demand a far more sensual prize.

Some like it seductive . . .

Simon is shocked to discover the tomboy he met long ago has blossomed into a headstrong temptress. Although he’s sworn off his dreams of becoming a hero, he can’t resist playing knight errant to Catriona’s damsel in distress. Both adventure and peril await them at her Highland home, where they will risk their lives to vanquish her enemies . . . and risk their hearts to discover a passion beyond their wildest dreams.

2008 is the year of me trying out new to me authors. I have been reading some really great books and some not so great book. This book was my very first Teresa Medeiros and after I read this book, it caused me to want to rush out and read all the Teresa Medeiros books that I could get my hands on. I so enjoyed this story. I enjoyed the main characters, the secondary characters and the story as a whole.

The way this book opens up had me crackin’ the heck up. It was so funny and such a perfect way to start off a book. It hooked me right in. It introduced us to our hero and our heroine and what a way to meet too!

Sir Simon Westscott is my favorite kind of hero. The rakes that are hell bent on sleeping their way through the country and even though you should hate them because they’ll be sure to break your heart, you can’t help but love him and want to be the woman that reforms him. He is hilarious and sexy and everything I love in a hero. He’s that reformed rake that doesn’t believe in himself and when he finally gets it, it’s great great great!

Catriona was a fantastic heroine too. She was funny, witty and strong. She cracked me up with all of her Scottish speeches and her passion for her people. I would have loved for her to have a showdown with her cousin, Alice… I would have loved to see her lay that dummy out. Catriona was just what Simon needed and she had guts. The way she planned her marriage to Simon out had me laughing because homegirl showed up at the jail….too effing funny!

Every scene that Catriona and Simon were in together was fantastic. Their fights, their laughter, everything about this couple had me laughing, sighing and wanting more.

Teresa Medeiros is an author that I’m totally going to glom. She did a really good job with this story and she totally entertained the socks off of me. I can feel the start of something special between me and the rest of her books, that’s how much I enjoyed this book.

The only reason why this book didn’t get a perfect 5 is because Catriona did something really retarded at the end and made me want to choke her out but even still, I enjoyed the rest of the book so much that I was able to overlook that dumbness. You guys should totally read this book because it’s hecka funny and the perfect read to help you get over a bad mood. This book will turn that frown upside down.

Read it!
