Book Stuff We’re Obsessed with this Week

  • Elle Kennedy dropped the cover for Tucker and Sabrina’s book, THE GOAL and it’s just as fantastic as the other books in the Off-Campus series. Check it out for yourself:

The Goal

She’s good at achieving her goals…

College senior Sabrina James has her whole future planned out: graduate from college, kick butt in law school, and land a high-paying job at a cutthroat firm. Her path to escaping her shameful past certainly doesn’t include a gorgeous hockey player who believes in love at first sight. One night of sizzling heat and surprising tenderness is all she’s willing to give John Tucker, but sometimes, one night is all it takes for your entire life to change.

But the game just got a whole lot more complicated

Tucker believes being a team player is as important as being the star. On the ice, he’s fine staying out of the spotlight, but when it comes to becoming a daddy at the age of twenty-two, he refuses to be a bench warmer. It doesn’t hurt that the soon-to-be mother of his child is beautiful, whip-smart, and keeps him on his toes. The problem is, Sabrina’s heart is locked up tight, and the fiery brunette is too stubborn to accept his help. If he wants a life with the woman of his dreams, he’ll have to convince her that some goals can only be made with an assist.

Don’t forget to pre-order the book cause you know it’s going to be awesome!

Book Stuff We’re Obsessed with this Week

Sarina Bowen finally revealed who Zach’s heroine is going to be and while a lot of fans were less than enthused about it, I’m okay with it. I was hoping for a May and Zach pairing but I have faith that Sarina will make me fall in love with Lark too. I also like that it’s not someone completely new but someone connected to May.

I’m not going to lie though, I still want May’s story and I hope we get it somewhere down the line so…if you’re listening Sarina, please please please write May’s story. ☺.

Here’s the summary for Keepsake, the third book in Sarina Bowen’s True North series.

When her best friend offers her a stay at the Shipley orchard in exchange for help at the farmers’ markets, Lark jumps into her little car and heads to Vermont.

Unfortunately, the night terrors don’t stop. Desperate to keep her fragile state a secret from those who know her best, she relies on the most soft-spoken resident of Orange County, Vermont, to calm her down when her dreams prove too much.

Zachariah, 23, is a survivor of a different kind. It’s been three years since he was tossed aside by the polygamist cult out west, and the only home he’d ever known. In Vermont, he’s found a peaceful place in the bunkhouse at the Shipley’s farm. He’s good with animals, and he’s good with his hands. But getting thrown away by your own people at nineteen leaves a mark on a guy. And he doesn’t always know what to make of a world where apps and movie quotes are the primary means of communication. Before hitchhiking to Vermont, he’d never watched TV. He’d never spoken on the phone.

Actually, there are still a lot of things he’s never done.

Zach and Lark slowly grow to trust one another. One night they become even closer than they’d planned. But Lark may still be too broken to trust anyone. When she shoves Zach away, he will have to prove to himself that he’s good for more than farm labor.

Sounds good to me. Yay!

Variety announced Lionsgates decision to cancel the theatrical release for Ascendant, the final movie chapter in the Divergent movie series. Lionsgate intends for Ascendant to air as a TV movie with a TV series spinoff.

It was also announced that the stars from the movies are not contracted to return and reprise their movie roles just yet and might not return for them either. I’m sorry but a Divergent movie without Four? I’m not watching that…especially since he was the only reason I was watching those movies in the first place. Gah.

Elle Kennedy made some announcements this week in her newsletter too and I’m super excited and a little sad about it. Her next Killer Instincts book, Midnight Target will probably be the final installment in that series but on the bright side, we’re getting TWO FULLY DEVELOPED ROMANCES so that’s something and those romances are for characters near and dear to all of us fans. We’re getting Sully & and Liam’s story as well as Cate & Ash’s story. Yippy skippy!

That does it for this week’s weekly wrap up. How was your week in books? Hear any book news that we missed? Get any new books you want to share? Review any books we should check out? Please share.

This week Holly and Casee are having all of the fun at RWA in San Diego. While I’m super jealous of them, I’m completely exhausted from everything going on in my personal life right now. I’m going to make sure Holly and Casee share their RWA adventures with us, don’t you worry. Should be fun to read about them meeting up for drinks with authors and just being around so many of our celebrities for a few days.

Here’s what you missed on Book Binge this week…

Lauren Layne reveals the cover of the next book in the Love Unexpectedly series so you know that I’m hella excited about that. Check it out:

Love Story

I love it. It matches the other books in the series even though the books are not linked. Love Story is schedule to come out on February 14, 2017 from Loveswept.

Danielle over at Ramblings from this Chick is giving away a copy of You and Me, Always by Jill Mansell. A book that I’m looking forward to.

Ashley over at Nose Graze is talking about the dangers of blogging on a free blogging platform. To be honest, this is a good post to read because it was a big part of the reason that Book Binge moved to self-hosting.

Our weekly winners wrap up will now be featured here and this week we still don’t have winners to announce.
