Waiting on Wednesday: Paranormalcy by Kiersten White.

Posted June 2, 2010 by Rowena in | 3 Comments

This week’s Waiting on Wednesday book is a book that has been getting a lot of buzz around the YA blogs and I’m more than a little curious about this book. I’m not much of a paranormal junkie but the blurb for this book has definitely piqued my curiosity. Then there’s the cover, look at how gorgeous the book cover is.

Isn’t it fantabulous? I think so.

Check out the blurb:

Evie’s always thought of herself as a normal teenager, even though she works for the International Paranormal Containment Agency, her ex-boyfriend is a faerie, she’s falling for a shape-shifter, and she’s the only person who can see through paranormals’ glamours.

But Evie’s about to realize that she may very well be at the center of a dark faerie prophecy promising destruction to all paranormal creatures. So much for normal.

Yeah, this definitely looks like a book that I’d be interested in reading. It sounds like a book that will definitely catch and keep my attention. I cannot wait. This book comes out in the fall, September 21, 2010 to be exact which is such a long time to wait but I’ll be patient.

What books are you guys looking forward to?

Waiting on Wednesday: My Soul to Keep by Rachel Vincent.

Posted May 26, 2010 by Rowena in | 5 Comments

I can’t tell you how anxious I am for this book to come out already. I read and loved the first two books in this series (even the prequel) and I’m just ready for more Nash and Kaylee action.

I adore Nash. Seriously adore Nash.

I’m a greedy wench because I want more, more, more Nash.

The cover for this book is amazing too. I love the colors and I love the whimsical feel you get while looking at these covers. I’m a fan!

Check out the blurb:

Kaylee has one addiction: her very hot, very popular boyfriend, Nash. A banshee like Kaylee, Nash understands her like no one else. Nothing can come between them.

Until something does.

Demon breath. No, not the toothpaste-challenged kind. The Netherworld kind. The kind that really can kill you. Somehow the super-addictive substance has made its way to the human world. But how? Kaylee and Nash have to cut off the source and protect their friends—one of whom is already hooked.

And so is someone else…

Squeaaaaallll! Only 5 more days to wait, yipee!

Waiting on Wednesday: Forget You by Jennifer Echols.

Posted May 19, 2010 by Rowena in | 7 Comments

I read Going too Far by Jennifer Echols not too long ago and I loved that book. I loved both Meg and John. You can read my review for that book at my adult book blog, Book Binge, here. It was my first book by Jennifer Echols and I was more than a little impressed with the smack upside my head that she gave me with Meg and John’s story.

So many emotions were wrung from me while reading this book and because of that emotional punch from Going too Far, I’m now more than a little excited for Forget You.

Check out the blurb:

There’s a lot Zoey would like to forget. Like how her father has knocked up his twenty-four-year old girlfriend. Like Zoey’s fear that the whole town will find out about her mom’s nervous breakdown. Like darkly handsome bad boy Doug taunting her at school. With her life about to become a complete mess, Zoey fights back the only way she knows how, using her famous attention to detail to make sure she’s the perfect daughter, the perfect student, and the perfect girlfriend to ultra-popular football player Brandon.

But then Zoey is in a car crash, and the next day there’s one thing she can’t remember at all—the entire night before. Did she go parking with Brandon, like she planned? And if so, why does it seem like Brandon is avoiding her? And why is Doug—of all people—suddenly acting as if something significant happened between the two of them? Zoey dimly remembers Doug pulling her from the wreck, but he keeps referring to what happened that night as if it was more, and it terrifies Zoey to admit how much is a blank to her. Controlled, meticulous Zoey is quickly losing her grip on the all-important details of her life—a life that seems strangely empty of Brandon, and strangely full of Doug.

Published by MTV Books, a division of Simon & Schuster. ISBN-10: 1439178232; ISBN-13: 978-1439178232.

Yeah, this book sounds amazing and I cannot wait for it to come out. I think I’m more anxious for the release of this book than I am for any of my romance novel releases that I’ve got ants in my pants for. This book comes out on July 20, 2010 and really, that’s not that long of a wait, is it?

Oh who am I kidding…that’s a long wait for me. I need to read this book NOW! Only 62 more days before I can finally get my grubby paws on this book.

Woot, I can’t wait!
