13 Books I Want For My Birthday

In No Particular Order:

Book Cover1. Demon Bound by Meljean Brook
The world Meljean has created with her Guardians series is fantastic and I can’t wait for this book.

Book Cover2. Breaking Dawn by Stephanie Meyer
Yes, I know I said I was done with this series, but..how can I not read the last one? Besides, I need to know what’s going to happen. I still hold out hope that she’ll redeem herself.

Book Cover3. Turbulent Sea by Christine Feehan
I gave up on Feehan’s Dark and Ghostwalker series ages ago, but I’m still obsessed with this one. Only one to go after this…

Book Cover4. Acheron by Sherrilyn Kenyon
Seriously, does this need an explanation?

Book Cover5. Loose and Easy by Tara Janzen
I go back and forth w/ this series. Some of them I love, some I hate, some I’m just eh about. We’ll see how it goes with this one.

Book Cover6. Salvation in Death by J.D. Robb
I just can’t get enough of this series. I love Eve and Roarke, love the secondary characters, love the plots, love the world. Probably I’m going to need a 12 step program for this.

Book Cover7. Seduce Me At Sunrise by Lisa Kleypas
So what if I still haven’t read Mine Till Midnight, I still lust after this book.

Book Cover8. A Wallflower Christmas by Lisa Kleypas
I love the Wallflower series and I think this one looks really cute. Besides, there’s St. Vincent. Nuff said.

Book Cover9. Can’t Take My Eyes Off Of You by Judith McNaught
I have serious doubts about whether or not this will actually ever be published, but I’m keeping it on my list regardless.

Book Cover10. Hostage to Pleasure by Nalini Singh
I love the Psy/Changeling series and can’t wait for the next installment.

Book Cover11. Kill for Me by Karen Rose
This is the 3rd book in her For Me trilogy and I can’t wait to finally get Susannah’s story.

Book Cover12. Flashback by Jill Shalvis
That cover is hot, I don’t care who you are. Scorching, even. YUMMA!

13. What I Did For Love by Susan Elizabeth Phillips
No cover or blurb yet for this one, but I still want it. Come on, it’s SEP!!

Honorable Mention: Number 14 on my list goes to Robyn Carr’s Grace Valley Trilogy. I didn’t include them in my original 13 because they’re reprints. I loved her Virgin River series and can’t wait to read these, which are a prequel of sorts to VR.

So there you go, 13 (ok, 16, really, but who’s counting?) books I want for my Birthday. Come on, make my day, hook me up w/ some early copies. You know you want to…

Thursday Thirteen: 13 Heroines That Need To Die

Posted May 22, 2008 by Holly in Features | 8 Comments

Today’s Thursday Thirteen comes to you courtesy of Casee and Holly and their frustration with TSTL romance novel heroines.

13 Heroines That Need To Die

Holly: 1. Jenny from Judith McNaught’s A Kingdom of Dreams.

Casee: 2. Gabriella Harrison from A Long Road Home by Danielle Steel

Holly: 3. Anna Rosewood from Scandal of the Black Rose by Debra Mullins

Casee: 4. Jessica Stanton from All That Glitters by Linda Howard

Holly: Good call on that one *headesk*

5. Mary (what’s her last name) from Lover Eternal by J.R. Ward

Casee: No way. But thanks for reminding me.

6. Marissa from Lover Revealed by JRW

Hate that bitch.

7. Catherine Enderly from Stormfire by Christine Monson

8. Joan DaCosta from Into the Night by Suz Brockmann

She was so annoying.

Holly: Oh, that reminds me:

9. Pretty much every heroine in Suz Brockmann’s Team 16 series.

Casee: Dude, you can’t do that. What about Teri? And Gina? They were good heroines.

Holly: They were? I wouldn’t know, cause I didn’t read their books. LOL But I did say “pretty much”.

Casee: Thanks for clarifying that.

10. Catherine Aldley from Island Flame by Karen Robards

I didn’t hate the book though.

Holly: 11. Bella from the Twilight Series by Stephanie Meyers.

Casee: 12. Paxton Andrews from Message From Nam by Danielle Steel.

Holly: 13. Hope Malory from Raintree: Haunted by Linda Winstead-Jones

Can you believe Casee came up with more heroines to hate than I did? Crazy, isn’t it? I’m going to give an honorable mention to Julie from Perfect by Judith McNaught, but don’t tell Casee and Rowena, ok? Shhh, it’ll be our little secret.

So, do you have a favorite heroine you love to hate? Leave us a comment and let us know.
