Ty...

Ten years ago I offered her everything, and she threw it back in my face. When she walked, I vowed no other woman would ever screw with my head the way she did. I moved on. Now I'm the V.P. of the Bastards, run my own nightclub, and nameless sex keeps me sane. No commitment or ties, just the way I like it.

Now she's back, for one week only, gorgeous, successful, and I can't keep away. She offers a long goodbye, a way to heal our fractured past. She burned me so bad––there's no way I should even want to be near her. But the more she gives, the more I need. Until I discover the real reason she left, and my whole damn world implodes...

When Jasmine returns to L.A. to take care of things after her mother dies, the last person she expects to see is Tyler Jenson. He was the love of her life until she was 17 and then moved away to live in Florida with her dad. Both Jas and Ty thought they’d be together forever, so it was a shock to everyone when she just suddenly up and moved. When Jas sees Ty outside of her mother’s workplace she tells herself that she’s over him and moves on after they say hello. She never expects Ty to show up at her mom’s apartment asking for sex but she’s more than willing to give it to him. They both say “no strings” and that it doesn’t mean anything, but one night turns into a week and a half and by that time they each know that there are more strings than they can handle.

Ty can tell himself that he’s over Jas all he wants but he knows that he’s lying to himself. He was devastated when Jas suddenly moved and broke all ties with him. He never stopped loving her and when he sees her again, all of those old feelings bubble to the surface. While he says the sex means nothing to him, inside he knows that it means so much. A tough biker he may be but with Jas he’s a kind, giving person – and one that had always put Jas first in his life. Pieces of a puzzle he could never understand ten years earlier start to come together and what Ty discovers changes his life forever.

I have to say that when I picked up this book I wasn’t expecting it to be as emotional as it was. At first, when Jas and Ty get together it was pretty standard reunion stuff. There was, however, an emotional thread that started weaving throughout the story the longer the two were together that caught my attention. It was subtle, but there, and written pretty well. As the book continued things got very emotional and frankly there was one point in the book where I almost cried. I almost never cry while reading!  WTH? Lol

Now, I didn’t read either book one or two in this series so I had no insights into the secondary characters/couples that appeared in this story. That said, I really didn’t feel that I needed to read those books in order to get this one. I think it stood pretty well all on its own.

Overall a good book that I really enjoyed reading. This was definitely more relationship driven than MC driven. There was very little interaction with the MC, actually, so even if you’re not a fan of MC romances, but like a good contemporary romance, this would be a good one to pick up.

This is a test. A test of every life decision Lisa Michaels has ever made.

Lisa thought she’d gotten everything right: The nicest condo, the right career, the best hair, and a perfectly adequate sex life with her stockbroker fiancé. But when the fiancé ditches her at the altar, Lisa’s left questioning every decision she’s ever made. What if her instincts have been steering her wrong all along? And what if she tested that theory by spending one month doing the exact opposite of what she’d normally do?

A crazy-hot fling with a tattooed steelworker from the wrong side of the tracks seems like a good starting point...

Lisa seems to always do the “right” thing.  Unfortunately that didn’t stop her fiancé from leaving her standing at the altar.  When she’s in a bar with her sisters she’s approached but a very large, very muscled man named Dax.  Her gut is telling her to send him away, so she does the opposite of what her gut is telling her – she takes him home for a one-night stand.  Despite it being a one-night stand Lisa really likes Dax.  She decides that she’s going to give herself a test.  She asks for Dax’s help and he agrees.  Lisa basically engages Dax, for the next month, to help her do the opposite of whatever her gut is telling her to do.

Dax is a tattooed, muscled, man yet highly intelligent.  He doesn’t believe he should even be allowed to touch Lisa and her incredibly soft skin.  He does, however, and loves every minute of it.  When she proposes her test, Dax thinks it’s a fun idea and goes along with it.  He never believed that he would start to have feelings for Lisa, so he dreads the end of the month-long test.

This was an incredibly cute book, hot and sexy as well.  Lisa wasn’t as buttoned-up as I think the author wanted us to believe she was but she was still pretty straight-laced.  That didn’t stop her from easily falling in with Dax’s plans for her.  I loved that they got along so well from day one and I loved that they both felt the connection between them from that time as well.

Dax was a good guy but thought Lisa was too good for him.  I was so happy that she stomped on that idea so that he was clear that he definitely was good enough.

The story made me laugh and of course made me blush as well (that Dax is a dirty-talking man, I loved it!)  This is the only book that I’ve read by this author but it certainly won’t be the last.  I loved her writing style and look forward to the next book in this series.

Shameless by Gina L. Maxwell
Playboys in Love #1
Releases on May 30, 2016 by Entangled Publishing: Scorched

People say I’m shameless. They’re right.

I like my sex dirty. It takes a hell of a lot to tilt my moral compass, and I always follow when it’s pointing at something I want. That goes double when it points straight at the one girl in all of Chicago who’s not dying for a piece of me.

She’s all I can think about, and that’s a problem, because she wants nothing to do with me. But I’ve seen her deepest secrets, her darkest fantasies, and they match mine to a fucking T.

I want her. Bad.

Now I need to show her how good it can feel…to be shameless.

Excerpt

Oh my God, he spanked me.

This is where Public Jane becomes outraged and asks him who the hell he thinks he is, smacking my ass like he owns it. Except she’s being bound and gagged and tossed in a closet by Secret Jane, whose system is flooded with endorphins and whose panties are now soaked from the rough handling. And the traitorous bitch wants more.

“You liked that,” he says as he starts to dryhump me doggy style to the beat of the song.

If it weren’t for our clothes, his dick would be sliding in and out of me with the strength of his gyrations. As it is, his hard length is rubbing along my crease, creating fresh waves of wet heat from the friction and pressure. It’s so distracting I almost forget to deny his claim.

“Nno, I didn’t.” Yes, I did.

Chance yanks back on my head until my body is flush with his, and he speaks directly against my ear. “You can’t lie to me, Jane. I know your secret.”

Panic seizes my chest. “What secret?”

He licks the outer shell of my ear. His breath fans the side of my face, and I break out in goose bumps. Then he whispers, “I saw the porn videos on your laptop.”

I gasp, indignation bubbling to the surface at the invasion of my privacy. I try to turn around to distance myself from him and maybe even give him a slap for good measure, but he holds me to him with one arm banded over my ribs, and claps his free hand over my mouth. “Shhhhhh,” he says, soothing my ruffled feathers with his voice and the brush of his fingers over a cottonclad nipple.

“That’s it, baby, feel the music,” he says, encouragingly. “I wanna fuck you, Jane.” A hand comes up to encircle my throat possessively as his other one cups my pussy and squeezes. A whimper escapes my lips, and I’m wracked with a shudder of pure need that takes me by surprise. “Forget about what you think is right, and focus on what feels right. Embrace your darkest desires. There’s no shame in what you want.”

Shameless… What would it be like to let go like that? To not worry about what others might think and just…be. Chance nips at my earlobe, the quick pinch dragging me from my thoughts. “Tell me what you want, Jane. Do you want to be my little slut for the night? Do you want me to fuck you like the bad girl I know you are?”

My mind reels, trying to keep up with the visceral reactions his words are having on me, but it’s a lost cause. Every time he speaks, he sets fire to all the reasons my brain erects as to why this isn’t a good idea, until all that’s left is wanton desire—desire for all the things his words and his body are promising.

So, I let go of every inhibition I’ve ever had, embrace the drunken lust…and I nod.

Her debut novel, Seducing Cinderella, hit both the USA Today and New York Times bestseller lists in less than four weeks, and she’s been living her newfound dream ever since.

When she’s not reading or writing steamy romance novels, she spends her time losing at Scrabble (and every other game) to her high school sweetheart, doing her best to hang out with their teenagers before they fly the coop, and dreaming about her move to sunny Florida once they do.
