Grade: 4.5 out of 5

He’s determined to have her… Greek millionaire Theo Toyas is suspicious of the beautiful but beguiling Abby Clinton. He’s convinced that her air of vulnerability conceals a devious woman intent on snatching the Toyas fortune. And he’s going to seduce her into telling the truth….

She’s determined not to be taken… Abby is consumed by her attraction to this arrogant Greek. But she must keep her secret…and she must not fall in love with Theo. In fact, she must stay forbidden to him at all costs! Too late, because Theo’s intent on having her as his wife….

I have never read a Harlequin Presents book before, I’m one of those cover snobs that will not buy these little ol’ books because a) the titles always make me roll my eyes down the street and b) I’m a cover snob, but I’m glad that Holly made me give these a try.

I’m happy to say that I will be reading more of these books. This book was such a short story but it sure did pack a punch. So much was crammed into this book but not once did I feel anything was forced, rushed or thrown in to make the story work.

It was just right the way it was.

Have you ever made some assumptions about something, knowing you were right and knowing what was going to happen and then time goes by and everything you swore was going to happen never did and you’re left feeling…MODED!

That’s how I felt with this book.

The story starts out with Theo getting ready to meet his brother’s fiance. He thinks she’s a gold digger, she’s scared out of her mind and my immediate thought was, oh gross! He is determined to find out if she’s only marrying Michael (the brother) for his money, because of course Michael and Theo are Greekzillionaires! The story evolves around these two fighting and finding out about each other and secrets and other stuff that makes for great storytelling.

Theo was one of those strong heroes that you want to just…lick. He’s hot, he’s strong and he’s filthy rich. He’s also so hot damn full of himself but I ate it all up. He was all about his family, doing whatever it took to protect his family from the gold diggers of the world and the way he was with Abby, with Michael and even little Jamie made me just love him to pieces! He was a great hero and a perfect match for Abby, I think.

Abby was a great heroine. I loved how she stuck to what she thought was right and didn’t give into Theo’s demands. You could tell that he intimidated the hell out of her (and seriously, who wouldn’t feel the same way about him, he’s just so intense!) but she didn’t cave around him. She stuck to what was right and she stood her ground with him. I loved how loyal she was to Michael and how fiercely she fell for Theo. She was a strong heroine that I was glad to get to know.

Michael’s family was the typical Greek family, the ones that know how to have fun and let loose. This Greek family sure did know how to throw a party because I was having me a good ol’ time reading about their good ol’ time. I adored Michael and Jamie and I was glad to be able to get to know Abby’s parents a bit.

This book is perfect for those Saturday’s at the park where you’re in between games and you don’t want to start a book that is too deep, too emotional and too everything! It’s light, funny and you don’t feel cheated because the book is so short. Cathy Williams did a phenomenal job of telling Theo and Abby’s story and I’m glad that I read this book, so you should read it too!

Perfect summer read!
