UPDATE: **CONTEST ALERT** Win Kill For Me by Karen Rose

Posted February 12, 2009 by Holly in Giveaways, Reviews | 16 Comments

Casee and I are both huge fans of Karen Rose (it was actually Casee that turned me onto her) and we’ve both been anticipating Kill for Me, the third and final book in Rose’s For Me Trilogy. I read and reviewed it, and Casee is getting ready to. It’s amazing. The perfect way to end her trilogy.

Book Cover

To celebrate it’s release, we’re holding a contest. We have 5 copies to giveaway. Yes, I said 5 (F-I-V-E). Since the idea is to promote the book, here are the rules:

1. Post about this contest on your blog/website. The more places you talk about it, the more chances you have to win. For example: If you mention this contest on your blog you’ll be entered once. If you also mention it on MySpace, Facebook and Twitter, you’ll be entered a total of 4 times.

2. Leave a comment on this post with links so we can see where you talked about it.

3. Contest ends Friday, February 13th. Winners will be announced Saturday, February 14th (seems appropriate that we’re promoting a book called Kill for Me on V-Day, don’t you think?).

That’s it. Simple enough, right?

Good luck!

XOXOXO

Holly, Casee and Rowena

UPDATE: When we originally planned this contest we didn’t think about those of you who don’t have a blog. So I’m going to revise the contest:

In order to be eligible to win, you must promise to review this book, either on your own site or here at Book Binge if you don’t have a blog of your own. Don’t be intimidated by that. We just want an honest opinion about what worked for you and what didn’t when it comes to the book. Good or bad, we still want a review.

You’ll have one month from the day you receive the book to review it. Once you’ve done so, either email us the review so we can post it here, or send us the link to the review you did elsewhere.

Or

You can play the original way by announcing the contest on your blog/website (and/or Twitter, MySpace, Facebook, etc).

Demon Bound by Meljean Brook aka Stop Torturing Holly

Posted March 28, 2008 by Holly in Promotions | 14 Comments

You know, last month Meljean Brook guest blogged with us, to celebrate her latest release, Demon Night. When we were working together on her posts, we were joking that (as I hadn’t finished reading DN yet) I’d hate it and rue the day I ever invited her to guest blog with us.

Well, sadly my darlings, that day has come. Not because I hated DN – quite the opposite, in fact – but because she’s once again torturing us with a fabulous cover and more mystery surrounding her already extremely mysterious Guardians.

Jerk.

Really Meljean, I’d be a wonderful test reader…

What? I was just saying.

The seductive and dangerous world of the Guardians now yields a secret that threatens the soul of a woman and the fate of the universe, both…

DEMON BOUND
$7.99 Berkley Sensation
November 2008

Among the Guardians, Alice Grey is known as the Black Widow—a woman trapped in a web spun by the demon Teqon. To save her soul, she agreed to deliver to Teqon the heart of the oldest and most powerful Guardian of all, or else be damned for eternity. After more than a hundred years, Teqon is calling in his debt.
Jake Hawkins is a novice Guardian whose gift of teleportation could be invaluable to Alice in determining her next move. But in aligning himself with her he never expected to fall in love. Now, their passionate flight to escape Alice’s damnable bargain is threatening both their souls. For they’re about to discover a hellish secret about the Guardians—something that will change their universe forever.

P.S. Lisabea and Katiebabs…I’m sorry but Michael is here with me. He’s mine all mine…:P

Help A Sister Out Will Ya?

Posted March 12, 2008 by Rowena in Discussions, Reviews | 9 Comments

Okay dear readers of Book Binge, in the comments of my post on our taste in romance over the years, our reader friend, Carolyn Jean mentioned that she was a new to historical romance reader and asked us quite nicely if we could hook her up with some historical pimps.

Let’s be dear readers and fellow romance pimps and help a sister out with some historical titles that she should definitely try out in her quest to read more historicals.

There’s so much to choose from and I’m sure you guys won’t disappoint in this call for help since I’ve read lots and lots of reviews by you guys on fantastic historicals that you guys loved. Stop by and drop some titles in the comments section of this post so that we can all see some new to us titles that we haven’t tried and hopefully spread the good cheer around.

A list of your top 5 historicals would suffice, I think.

Here’s mine:

1. Lord of Scoundrels by Loretta Chase.
2. The Wallflower Series by Lisa Kleypas. (Secrets of a Summer’s Night, It Happened One Autumn, Devil in Winter, Scandal in Spring and Mine til Midnight)
3. The Mallory Series by Johanna Lindsey. (Love Only Once, Tender Rebel, Gentle Rogue, The Magic of You, Say You Love Me, The Present, A Loving Scoundrel, Captive of My Desires)
4. Something Wonderful and Almost Heaven by Judith McNaught.
5. The Bridgerton Series by Julia Quinn. (The Duke and I, The Viscount Who Loved Me, An Offer from a Gentleman, Romancing Mr. Bridgerton, To Sir Phillip, with Love, When He Was Wicked, It’s In His Kiss, On the Way to the Wedding)

Alright, there’s my list and even though I detested On the Way to the Wedding, I quite enjoyed the rest of the series and couldn’t very well leave out the last book but be warned that book was lamer than lame so you might not like that book so I’m warning you, the only reason I’m even telling you about that book is because it’s part of the series. The other books were really good and I’m sure you’ll enjoy them.

Now your turn readers, what are YOU going to recommend for Carolyn Jean to read?
