Wanderlustby Kitty French Ruby has been in love with Ford since their university days, but she hasn't seen her former best friend in years--not since the one unforgettable kiss they shared right before he went off globe-trotting and she stayed behind. When he returns to town unexpectedly for their friends' New Year's Eve wedding, the sparks between them ignite, but can her wanderer ever settle down?
Ford has never forgotten Ruby, or the kiss that changed everything between them, despite the many women he has tried to erase her with. His return to England for the wedding means a second chance with Ruby--but will one passion-filled evening with her be enough, or has he finally found his home?

A sweet, short story about two friends who reunite as more. Ruby and Ford were really close during their university days. They were attracted to each other but ignored it in favor of their friendship. Until the night they graduated. Then they shared a steamy kiss that changed things between them. Except not enough, since Ford took off right after to explore the world. He knew if he stayed with Ruby rather than following his dreams he’d end up resenting her, which he didn’t want.

Ruby was pretty devastated when Ford lit out of town, but she did her best to move on. Her career had really taken off and she’s lucky to have great friends, if no great love. She’s nervous about seeing her old friend, especially since she hasn’t quite moved past her feelings for him.

I liked the setting – an English B&B at New Years – and the cast of characters. Ruby and Ford had great chemistry and were interesting. The wedding Ruby had planned was interwoven well with the romance and I liked their friends. My only complaint is how short it was. I would have liked to see more development of their relationship after they worked things out. That aside, it was a solid story.
