I’m reading a book called Tattered by Devney Perry. It’s a second chance romance which is a trope that I really love. I also read the Closer to You series by A.L. Jackson. Holy crap, but that series packed an emotional punch. It was hard to move on after I read the series because I couldn’t stop thinking about it. Those are the books that become the greats.

I finally got back into audiobooks this week. I’m listening to Wild Fire by Kristen Ashley then plan to move to Wild Wind.

Holly

I didn’t read much this week. Things have been kind of crazy and I had a hard time focusing. I listened to One Fell Sweep by Ilona Andrews and re-read Tiger Magic and Tiger Striped by Jennifer Ashley. I’m almost finished with The Last Warrior. I’m not sure what I’ll read next.

Rowena

I only read one book this past week and it was The Switch by Beth O’Leary. I hadn’t finished it by the time my monthly Zoom call with my book friends started but I did finish it up earlier this week and then I immediately jumped into Wild Sign by Patricia Briggs but then I also started Haikyu, a volleyball anime and I never went back to Wild Sign but I’m on season 2 of Haikyu. I’m hoping to get back to Wild Sign over the weekend but we shall see. What I’ve read so far has been good so I know I’m going to enjoy it. Also, I enjoyed The Switch by Beth O’Leary more than my book friends did.

What are you reading this week? Any new favorites or books that drove you crazy? Share!

My favorite book this week was Tamsen Parker’s THE INSIDE TRACK about the romance between a rock star with severe ADHD and a former child star now financial advisor with severe agoraphobia and panic attacks. I thought Parker did an excellent job of showing how these two people—both struggling with mental health issues—were able to connect. I also liked that neither MC was miraculously cured by falling in love: they will both continue to work hard to manage their mental health.

I read several Tawna Fenske books and was reminded why I enjoy her books so much! The books were: Dr Hot Stuff (the last of the Ponderosa Resort series); Snowbound Squeeze (a re-read); and the 2 Juniper Ridge books that are out Show Time & Let it Show.

I’m trying to read at least one book from the TBR every week. This week it was a mystery by Richard Osman entitled The Thursday Murder Club. It was wonderful on many levels. Then I got caught up on the In Death books by J. D. Robb. I’m trying to hang in there until the author gets done (53 books and counting) but I don’t know if I will make it. A lot of “same old” without the humor and the life developments of the supporting cast. Now I am reading Daddy Crush by A. Anders and it is surprisingly good so far.

I really enjoyed DADDY CRUSH, I just wish it had had a different title. Yes, there is an age-gap and some (relatively minor) Daddy-kink in the story, but I felt it was more about the journey of a young woman, raised in a very oppressive home, who learns to be true to herself and her artistic vision. Great book, misleading title.

    Since last time ~

    — quite enjoyed Heart of Malice (Alice Worth Book 1) by Lisa Edmonds and went on to read the novella Blood Money as well as books 2 and 3, Heart of Fire and Heart of Ice. Now I need to get my hands on the remainder of the series!
    — read and enjoyed One’s Aspect to the Sun (Nearspace Book 1) by Sherry D. Ramsey. I’d read on in this series; however, my library does not own the sequels.
    — the anthology Fantastic Hope by Laurel K. Hamilton, Patricia Briggs and more. As with most anthologies, I found that I liked some of the stories, was ambivalent about others, and did not finish several. My favorite story was “Asil and the Not-Date” by Patricia Briggs; it featured Asil from her Alpha and Omega series.
    — and a host of samples.
