It’s a new month so we’re back with a list of our Monthly Reads to share with each of you. This is where you’ll see what each of us has read and what our favorite books and our least favorite books of the month are. Check it out.

Casee

I only read three books in December. It’s pretty pathetic. I’m really hoping to read more in 2021.

Sommersgate House (Ghosts and Reincarnation #1) by Kristen Ashley | 4.5 out of 5
Lacybourne Manor (Ghosts and Reincarnation #2) by Kristen Ashley | 4.25 out of 5
Penmort Castle (Ghosts and Reincarnation #3) by Kristen Ashley | 3.5 out of 5

My favorite book of this series so far is Sommersgate House, though all the books in the series have been pretty good.

Holly

I had a fairly decent reading month. I managed to read 23 books, which is better than most other months in 2020.

Twisted Creek by Jodi Thomas (reread) | 3.25 out of 5
Wolves and Daggers (Steampunk Red Riding hood #1) by Melanie Karsak | DNF
Seduction on a Snowy Night by Madeline Hunter, Sabrina Jeffries and Mary Jo Putney (anthology) | 1.5 out of 5
Fairytale Come Alive by Kristen Ashley (reread) | 4.5 out of 5
Rock Addiction (Rock Kiss #1) by Nalini Singh (reread) | 4.25 out of 5
Hauntings and Humbug: A Steampunk Christmas Carol by Melanie Karsak | 3.75 out of 5
Goblins and Snowflakes: (Steampunk Fairy Tales: The Elves and the Shoemaker #5) by Melanie Karsak | 4 out of 5
Repeat by Kylie Scott (reread) | 5 out of 5
Whiskey Holiday by Crystal Daniels | 1.5 out of 5
Magical Midlife Madness (Leveling Up #1) by K.F. Breene
Polar Opposites by Dani Wyatt | 1.5 out of 5
Scrooged by Vi Keeland and Penelope Ward (anthology) | 3.75 out of 5
Shadow of a Doubt (The Potentate of Atlanta #1) by Hailey Edwards | 3.5 out of 5
Pack of Lies (The Potentate of Atlanta #2) by Hailey Edwards | 3.5 out of 5
One Fell Sweep (Innkeeper Chronicles #3) by Ilona Andrews (audio) (reread) | 4.5 out of 5
Sweep of the Blade (Innkeeper Chronicles #4) by Ilona Andrews (reread) | 4.5 out of 5
To Dream Again by Laura Lee Guhrke | 3.25 out of 5
Blood Heir (Aurelia Ryder #1) by Ilona Andrews | 4.5 out of 5
Wildfire (Hidden Legacy #3) by Ilona Andrews (audio) (reread) | 4.5 out of 5
The Scarletti Curse by Christine Feehan (reread) | 3.75 out of 5
The Mistletoe Bride by Anne Gracie | 3.5 out of 5
The Christmas Bride (Chance Sisters #4.5) by Anne Gracie | 3.75 out of 5
The Earl of Christmas Past (Goode Girls #1.5) by Kerrigan Byrne | 3.75 out of 5

My favorite read of the month was Blood Heir by Ilona Andrews. I’m so happy to be back in the Kate Daniels World. An honorable mention goes to Goblins and Snowflakes by Melanie Karsak. My least favorite was the Seduction on a Snowy Night anthology. I only read the first two stories, but neither was very good. I also thought Whiskey Holiday by Crystal Daniels was pretty bad.

December was a pretty slow reading month for me but since that was the case for most of the year, I’m not too worried about it. 2021 is already looking up for me so I’m hopeful that I’ll be able to add some books to our monthly giveaway here on Book Binge.

Here’s what I read in December:

Blood Heir (Aurelia Ryder #1) by Ilona Andrews | 4.75 out of 5
To Dream Again by Laura Lee Guhrke | 3.75 out of 5
In a Holidaze by Christina Lauren | 3.25 out of 5
Twisted Creek by Jodi Thomas | 3.25 out of 5

My favorite read of the month was Blood Heir (Aurelia Ryder #1) by Ilona Andrews because it was just a fantastic read all around. Julie and Derek being front and center makes me so happy and the Andrews writing duo really did their thing with this one. I loved it. My least favorite read of the month goes to In a Holidaze by Christina Lauren, not because it was a bad book but I just enjoyed it the least of the books that I read.

My favorite read was The Masterpiece by Fiona Davis. My least favorite was Sing Like No One’s Listening by Vanessa Jones.

I forgot to mention my least favorite book was The Awakening by Nora Roberts. I think readers will like the friendship between the heroine and her best friend, but the plot pacing was slow and nothing much happens.

Last month must have been horribly uninspiring reading wise. I read a ton of holiday books and anthologies. Some were very good, some not so much.

  4. DiscoDollyDeb

I read 12 books in December. My favorite was Ainslie Paton’s OFFENSIVE BEHAVIOR. I didn’t dislike any of the books I read last month.

  5. Kareni

I quite enjoyed The Invisible Life of Addie LaRue by V.E. Schwab, The Lost Love Song: A Novel by Minnie Darke, and My Christmas Number One by Leonie Mack.

I’ve no least favorite to mention as I cast aside many books unfinished.

December was a very good reading month for me. My favorite was The Switch by Beth O’Leary. It wasn’t a romance, but definitely romance adjacent. My least favorite was Notorious by Minerva Spencer.

I enjoyed Christmas Actually. I can’t name the one I liked the least since it was for a friend.
