What Are You Reading? (542)

Casee: I haven’t felt much like reading this last week. We were in California with family and I had zero time to read. I’m currently reading two books. Man Hands by Sarina Bowen & Tanya Eby. It’s pretty cute so far, but I’m not very far into it. I’m also reading Reckless Road by Christine Feehan. It’s okay. Reading this book has confirmed to me that I’ve grown out of CF books and something about that makes me sad.

I started listening to Sweep in Peace by Ilona Andrews, but it was taking too long so I stopped and decided I would read it instead. I’ve also listened to the Real Duet by Meghan March. They are such easy listens.

Holly: I haven’t been reading much of anything. I finished She Tempts the Duke by Lorraine Heath on audio and started Lord of Temptation. I’m reading Polaris Rising by Jessie Mihalik. I’m about halfway through. I like the writing and I’m enjoying the story overall, but it isn’t holding my attention. I suspect that has more to do with my state of mind than the book. Otherwise I reread a few Kristen Ashley novels, and that’s it. Let’s hope next week is better.

What are you reading this week? Any new favorites or books that drove you crazy? Share!

I just finished reading The Jake Ryan Complex by Bethany Crandell. I enjoyed it, it was a good read.

I read Lauren Blakely’s ONE EXQUISITE TOUCH, which I liked very much. It’s an antagonists-to-lovers story (with an M/F/M ménage thrown in for good measure) about two people who run rival hotel-casinos in Las Vegas. I also read Rebel Carter’s NEW GIRL IN TOWN based on a review I read here. It was ok, but I thought the romance was a little too light and fluffy given the heroine’s backstory involving an abusive and controlling ex-husband.

  3. I hate that feeling when I realize I’ve outgrown an author. And still, it takes me a while to gradually stop reading her work. I often think that I’m going to enjoy the next release!

I’m another who has stopped reading books by Christine Feehan.

    Since last week ~

    — Little Fires Everywhere: A Novel by Celeste Ng. It was an interesting read which presented some thought provoking scenarios. The book group that I left 18 years ago when I moved invited me back since they are now Zooming; it was a fun meeting.
    — the Australian set contemporary mystery romance Tallowwood by N.R. Walker which I quite enjoyed.
    — enjoyed yet another reread of Linesman and Alliance (Linesman Novels Book 1 and 2) by SK Dunstall.
