Surprisingly, April wasn’t a bad month for me. I read ten books.

Lethal Game by Christine Feehan | 4 out of 5
Gunmetal Magic by Ilona Andrews | 3 out of 5
Viper Game by Christine Feehan | 3.75 out of 5
Spider Game by Christine Feehan | 3 out of 5
Covert Game by Christine Feehan (reread) | 4.25 out of 5
Committed by Penelope Sky | 4 out of 5
Desolation Road by Christine Feehan | 2 out of 5
The Sinner by J.R. Ward | 3 out of 5
Kiss the Stars by A.L. Jackson | 4.25 out of 5
Sin & Chocolate by K.F. Breene | DNF (for now)

My favorite book of the month hands down was Kiss the Stars by A.L. Jackson. I love A.L. Jackson and will read absolutely anything she writes. Ever. My least favorite book of the month hands down was Desolation Road by Christine Feehan. It was such a disappointment. Look for my review in the upcoming months.

I finished 10 books in April, which is pretty awful for me generally, but actually pretty good for this year.

Always Be My Banshee by Molly Harper (audio) | 3.75 out of 5
Sin and Spirit by K.F. Breene | 3.5 out of 5
Sin and Lightning by K.F. Breene | 3.75 out of 5
The Year We Hid Away by Sarina Bowen (reread) | 4.5 out of 5
Ride Steady by Kristen Ashley (reread) | 4.25 out of 5
Gettting Schooled by Emma Chase (reread) | 4.5 out of 5
Fairytale Come Alive by Kristen Ashley (reread) | 4 out of 5
The Orchid Throne by Jeffe Kennedy (audio) | 3.5 out of 5
Dragos Takes a Holiday by Thea Harrison (reread) | 3.75 out of 5
The Hook Up by Kristen Callihan (reread) | 4 out of 5

My favorite read of the month was Sin and Lightning by K.F. Breene. My least favorite was Sin and Spirit. I didn’t dislike it, but it wasn’t as good as I thought it would be based on the previous books in the series.

April was such a bad reading month for me. It was the month of Korean Dramas and that’s pretty much all I read for most of the month. I did manage to get some reading done and most of it was Kate Daniels books so here’s my list of books read in April.

Gunmetal Magic (Kate Daniels #5.5) by Ilona Andrews (eBook) | 3.5 out of 5
Magic Rises (Kate Daniels #6) by Ilona Andrews (eBook) | 4.25 out of 5
The Orchid Throne (Forgotten Empires #1) by Jeffe Kennedy (eBook) | 3.25 out of 5
Magic Steals (Kate Daniels #6.5) by Ilona Andrews (eBook) | 4 out of 5
Magic Breaks (Kate Daniels #7) by Ilona Andrews (eBook) | 4.75 out of 5

My favorite read of the month goes to Magic Breaks. That book was the last book that I read and was an absolute blast. I cannot wait to dig into the next book. My least favorite read goes to The Orchid Throne by Jeffe Kennedy. It wasn’t a bad book but I had some issues with it, more issues than I had with any of the other books I read last month.

My favorite read this month was Finding Libbie by Deanna Lynn Sletten. My least favorite was Wicked Intentions by Elizabeth Hoyt, I didn’t finish it.

Holly, I’m on Thea Harrison’s mailing list and she recently announced that she is writing a new Pia/Dragos novella.

    • That’s welcome news. I really enjoy the novellas she’s released today. I’m very curious about Liam. I hope we see more about him in the future.

I thought I was signed up for her newsletter, but I don’t remember seeing it. I’ll have to rectify that.

April favorites include my reread of Martha Wells Murderbot novellas plus a new book, The House in the Cerulean Sea by TJ Klune.

As for least favorite ~ I did not finish a host of books, but I no longer recall the titles.

  4. Kim

I haven’t read anything new. I just finished a re-read of Marriage On Madison Avenue by Lauren Layne. I didn’t have a least favorite.

I read 18 books in April. My absolute favorite was Kati Wilde’s LOSING IT ALL. It was a fantastic story, well worth the four-year wait (and, I may have mentioned a few times, lol, I’m mentioned on the book’s Dedication page!).

I didn’t read anything I hated in April, but I think Keri Lake’s MASTER OF SALT & BONES should have been marketed as a gothic-horror and not a romance. If you choose to read it, be prepared—it should come with all the trigger/content warnings.

  6. Glenda Martillotti

I’ve been reading a lot and can’t really say what my favorite was. I loved: A Duke by Any Other Name (Grace Burrowes); First Comes Scandal (Julia Quinn); The Lasaran (Dianne Duvall); Truth or Beard (Penny Reid) – yes I finally started the Winston Brother’s series. My least favorite was probably The Wrong Todd.
