What Are You Reading? (524)

Casee: Self-quarantine has boosted by reading time tremendously. I’ve read four Christine Feehan books. Her writing sure has changed over the last several years. I’m now reading The Sinner by J.R. Ward. I’m actually enjoying it, which is somewhat surprising.

I’m listening to Kiss the Stars by A.L. Jackson. I love this author and I love the narrators. I’m looking forward to getting further into it.

Holly: I reread Getting Schooled by Emma Chase this week, thanks in part to my Sunday Spotlight post. I also re-read Dragos Takes a Holiday by Thea Harrison and something else I can’t remember at the moment. I started Dragon Unleashed by Grace Draven, but I’ve only managed to read a couple pages. It seems I don’t have much brainpower for reading during this pandemic.

Rowena: So you would think that since I’m bored in the house, that I’m in the house bored, I’d be reading a whole lot of books. Well, you’d be wrong because I’m not reading a hot damn thing. I’m watching a whole lot of Korean dramas though. I watched Itaewon Class in two days, followed by two days of Crash Landing on You, and now I’m watching What’s Wrong with Secretary Kim. I have loved every single one of these shows and am already making a list of what I’ll be watching next. I’m hooked. So what am I reading? The subtitles on my Netflix screen and that’s it. Maybe next week I’ll pick up a book. Wish me luck and Happy Friday!

I’m currently reading Kate Canterbary’s THE MAGNOLIA CHRONICLES. It was published last year and it’s the start of a new series called Adventures in Dating. The heroine is a 34-year-old landscape architect who promises her mother she will “make an effort” to find a good man. She meets a number of men through dating apps, but as the saying goes, you have to kiss a lot of frogs…

I finished one book this week….

    — Lab Girl by Hope Jahren for my book group. It’s a mix of memoir and science; I enjoyed it.
