Books to Binge On

Our Books to Binge On feature is pretty simple in its purpose. Every month, we put together a monthly new releases list of books that we’re all looking forward to. These are the books that we can’t wait to read and want everyone to add to their monthly binge-reading lists. Here are the books that we plan to binge on in February of 2020.

The Darkest King (Lords of the Underworld #15) by Gena Showalter

A merciless prince feared by all…

Cursed by a vengeful witch, William of the Dark will die if he ever falls in love—murdered by the woman who steals his heart. His lone shot at redemption is a book filled with indecipherable code. Break the code, break the curse. Now, centuries later, he’s condemned to a string of one-night stands…until he finds the only woman in the worlds able to set him free.

A rare creature of myth and power…

One of the last living unicorn shifters, Sunday “Sunny” Lane works from the shadows as a cryptanalyst, on the run from assassins and poachers. Then the darkly seductive William abducts her, holding her captive in Hell. The closer they get, the more she hungers for his touch…and the stronger a mystical desire to kill him becomes…

Both forever doomed?

At war with his brother, Lucifer, and determined to become a king of the underworld at long last, William must resist the irreverent beauty who threatens his future. But every day Sunny tempts him more, his hunger for her unmatched. Will he risk his heart—and his life—or will the curse ensure his end?

Casee: William’s book. YASSSS.

Knight Awakening (Scorpius Syndrome #6) by Rebecca Zanetti

The Line Between Obsession and Love has Disappeared

The world has changed. Any rules that might’ve been in place before the Scorpius bacterium ripped through civilization and decreased its population are no longer in place. Obsession and survival are the new reality. So, Marcus Knight, after a hellish time in captivity that stole most of his memory and all of his soul, has one focus, and that’s keeping Dr. Penelope Kim safe in the aftermath. She’d risked her life to save him once, and she’s all that matters. For months, he’s kept his distance, protecting her from afar, because he knows that one touch—one sigh—one kiss—from her will never be enough.

Passion is a Dangerous and Deadly Temptation

Penny Kim is one of the few doctors still living, and she alone holds the key to ensuring the human race continues. Several of her friends are pregnant, and the clock is ticking down on their survival. Her days are filled with experiments and hope, while her nights are consumed with visions and dreams of the hard-bodied and powerful soldier who’s made her safety his one and only mission. She should be wary of him; she should be terrified of him. Yet all she feels is an unreal craving for his touch that gets stronger every day. Life is short, and she’s unwilling to wait, unaware of the danger already hunting them both. Some risks are worth it, even in this new and dangerous world.

Casee: Another Scoripus Syndrome book. Finally.

Chasing Cassandra (The Ravenels #6) by Lisa Kleypas

Everything has a price…

Railway magnate Tom Severin is wealthy and powerful enough to satisfy any desire as soon as it arises. Anything—or anyone—is his for the asking. It should be simple to find the perfect wife—and from his first glimpse of Lady Cassandra Ravenel, he’s determined to have her. But the beautiful and quick-witted Cassandra is equally determined to marry for love—the one thing he can’t give.

Everything except her…

Severin is the most compelling and attractive man Cassandra has ever met, even if his heart is frozen. But she has no interest in living in the fast-paced world of a ruthless man who always plays to win.

When a newfound enemy nearly destroys Cassandra’s reputation, Severin seizes the opportunity he’s been waiting for. As always, he gets what he wants—or does he? There’s one lesson Tom Severin has yet to learn from his new bride:

Never underestimate a Ravenel.

The chase for Cassandra’s hand may be over. But the chase for her heart has only just begun…

Rowena: I was super stoked for this book because Cassandra, the sister who has been trying to find her a man and a happy ending is finally getting her man. I didn’t really want that man to be Tom Severin but Lisa Kleypas did her thing with this book and you guys should definitely read this one. Add it to your TBR piles guys, you won’t regret it!

Holly: Yessss. Finally, we get Cassandra’s book. I can’t wait to read it.

Temporary Wife Temptation (The Heirs of Hansol #2718) by AUTHOR NAME

Much more than he bargained for…

“You want me to find you a wife?”

“No. I want you to be my wife.”

Garrett Song is this close to taking the reins of his family’s LA fashion empire…until the Song matriarch insists he marry her handpicked bride first. To block her matchmaking, he recruits Natalie Sobol to pose as his wife. She needs a fake spouse as badly as he does. But when passion burns down their chaste agreement, the flames could destroy them all…

Rowena: I’m not a huge fan of Harlequin categories but this one sounds like something I’m really in the mood for so I’m looking forward to reading my eARC. I think I need to knkow Garrett Song and Natalie Sobol.

House Rules (Uptown #3) by Ruby Lang

ROOMMATE WANTED to share a gorgeous sun-filled apartment in Central Harlem. Must love cats. No ex-husbands or wives need apply.

Seventeen years ago, different dreams pulled Simon Mizrahi and Lana Kai apart. But when Lana takes a position as a chef back in Manhattan, her apartment search puts her right in her ex-husband’s path. Music teacher Simon is also hunting for a new place to live, and when Lana proposes they be platonic roomies, well…it’s not the worst idea he’s ever heard.

A sunny uptown two-bedroom sounds far more appealing than the cramped, noisy space where he’s currently struggling to work. Still, Simon has seen firsthand that Lana’s a flight risk, so he agrees on a trial basis.

Three months. With strict boundaries.

Living together again feels wonderfully nostalgic, but when the ex-couple’s lingering feelings rise to the surface, the rules go out the window.

Of course, chemistry was never their problem. But while Simon’s career feels back on solid footing, Lana is still sorting out what she wants. With their trial period soon coming to an end, they’ll have to decide if their living arrangement was merely a sexy trip down memory lane or a reunion meant to last.

Rowena: I read the last book in this series and really enjoyed it so I’m looking forward to moving on to this one. I’m actually reading this book now and I’m liking both Lana and Simon so yeah, you should definitely add this to your TBR piles this month.

Unequivocally, Blindly, Yours by B. Love

Reina has always had one dream – to make it big within the black ballet circuit, but without the money for proper training and attire, that dream seems unattainable. Deciding to use the arts to her advantage, she begins to take small acting and modeling gigs here and there. As fate would have it, Reina is given an opportunity that could change the course of her life – pretend to be amnesia-stricken Hudson Gray’s wife, and she will not only have access to the millionaire but the small fortune she’s being offered to play the role as well.

A car accident takes more from Hudson than he knows right away. It not only leaves him in pain physically, but he also suffers from amnesia. Trusting those around him, he never expects that the woman who calls herself his wife is a fake while he goes through the process of having to learn and love her all over again.

With time, Reina begins to develop real feelings for Hudson. She believes she’s finally going to have the life she’s always dreamed of and a handsome, wealthy man as a bonus. There’s just… that part about this all being a job… that slowly begins to eat away at Reina. And if she isn’t careful, Hudson will find out the truth. This would cause her to not only lose the man she’s fallen in love with but her opportunity to take over the black ballet circuit as well.

Rowena: This book sounds like all kinds of drama and though I normally tend to steer clear of amnesia stories, I’m mighty intrigued by this one so on my list of books to binge this month it goes.

One Last Chance (One Day to Forever #3) by Therese Beharrie

Of all the charity events in all of Cape Town, Zoey Roux had to bump into her husband at this one

Six years ago, Zoey Roux secretly married her best friend Sawyer. But all that did was destroy the best relationship she’s ever had. Rowena: I’ve been hearing a lot of good things about this author around blogland and on Romancelandia Twitter so I picked this one up to see if I would enjoy it so I’ll be reading it this month for sure.

A Heart of Blood and Ashes (A Gathering of Dragons #1) by Milla Vane

A generation past, the western realms were embroiled in endless war. Then the Destroyer came. From the blood and ashes he left behind, a tenuous alliance rose between the barbarian riders of Parsathe and the walled kingdoms of the south. That alliance is all that stands against the return of an ancient evil–until the barbarian king and queen are slain in an act of bloody betrayal.

Though forbidden by the alliance council to kill the corrupt king responsible for his parents’ murders, Maddek vows to avenge them, even if it costs him the Parsathean crown. But when he learns it was the king’s daughter who lured his parents to their deaths, the barbarian warrior is determined to make her pay.

Yet the woman Maddek captures is not what he expected. Though the last in a line of legendary warrior-queens, Yvenne is small and weak, and the sharpest weapons she wields are her mind and her tongue. Even more surprising is the marriage she proposes to unite them in their goals and to claim their thrones–because her desire for vengeance against her father burns even hotter than his own…
