What Are You Reading? (509)

Casee: The beginning of the week was pretty slow for me. The last half of the week has been going pretty well. I’m currently reading For You by Kristen Ashley. I tried to listen to it on audio, but the narrator wasn’t for me. I’m really enjoying Feb and Colt.

I’m listening to Wife by Penelope Sky. It’s interesting to say the least. I’m halfway through it and still can’t decide if I like it or not. I do know that the heroine is driving me crazy.

Holly: I finished listening to The Fate of Mercy Alban by Wendy Webb, but I haven’t read anything else this week, aside from light skimming. I’m dealing with some family matters and I haven’t had the time, energy or inclination for anything else. Hopefully this weekend I’ll have a chance to read.

Rowena: I took my first business trip this week so I was able to get some reading done on my flight and at night before crashing after long days of work. I finished up Lady Derring Takes a Lover by Julie Anne Long and that book made me cry. I enjoyed it a lot, so it was another fabulous recommendation from Holly. I also listened to The A.I. Who Loved Me by Alyssa Cole and really enjoyed that one too. Alyssa Cole has a great writing style and I enjoyed listening to Regina King and Mindy Kaling. All around, it was a good reading week for me.

Right now, I’m reading my last book club book of the year. I’m reading Angelfire by Courtney Allison Moulton. It’s actually a re-read for me and I don’t remember a thing about it…except the soulmates thing. So far, so good. After this, I’ll be jumping into The Kingmaker by Kennedy Ryan.

What are you reading this week? Any new favorites or books that drove you crazy? Share!

I read AUDITION by Skye Warren, the next in her North Security series. It’s about a ballet dancer and a security specialist in New Orleans. Not quite as deep or dark as some of Warren’s work, perhaps because she had a co-writer (Amelia Wilde) on this one.

I started reading I Heart Hawaii by Lindsay Kelk. I didn’t care for it so I didn’t finish. Right now I’m reading Christmas Wishes and Mistletoe Kisses by Jenny Hale, I’m enjoying it.

    Since last time ~

    — the historical romance Rogue Meets a Scandalous Lady (Mackenzies Series Book 11) by Jennifer Ashley which I enjoyed.
    — The Snow Angel by Jayne Fresina. This was an enjoyable historical romance that I suspect I’ll be rereading. It contained elements of Dickens’ A Christmas Carol; it also contained a surprising twist near the end which I did not foresee
    — I started but put aside Space Opera by Catherynne M. Valente. I’d heard excellent things about this book, but it was not speaking to me.
    — I started and did not finish yet another book: Sailing to Sarantium (Sarantine Mosaic) by Guy Gavriel Kay.
