What Are You Reading? (+ Cathy Maxwell Giveaway)

Casee: I am reading Spellbinder (Moonshadow #2) by Thea Harrison. Wow. This book is so good. I read Moonshadow (Moonshadow #1) quite some time ago, but wasn’t interested in Spellbinder when I learned who the hero was. I was not a fan of Morgan at all in Moonshadow. Now that I’m reading Spellbinder, I am asking myself why I ever doubted Thea Harrison. I’m hoping that I can finish it up over the long weekend. After that I will pick up Lionheart (Moonshadow #3).

I browsed through the Audible Romance Package and selected Easy Love (Boudreaux #1) by Kristen Proby. I’ve never read/listened to her before. I’m trying go out of my comfort zone and I’m so glad I did. I’m really liking this book. I plan on listening to the entire series.

Holly: Remember how last week I said my reading mojo was back? I lied. The only book I read this week was Sapphire Flames by Ilona Andrews. Send help. I need it.

Rowena: I had a lot going on this week at work and at home so I didn’t read as much as last week but I am reading and that’s what counts. I read Then Came You by Kate Meader and enjoyed that one as much as I hoped I would. Grant and Aubrey were an intense couple and their story was just as angsty and emotional as I was expecting so that’s good. I also read Bridal Boot Camp by Meg Cabot and that book is a really short read that kicks off her new Little Bridge Island series and I’m low key excited about that.

Now, I’m reading The Unhoneymooners by Christina Lauren and I’m excited to jump right in because I’ve been hearing loads of good things. Happy reading, everyone!

Is it wrong for a woman to want more?

Not if she is a Spinster Heiress. They do not settle. Any young miss would be very lucky to find herself promised to a man like the Duke of Camberly. However, Miss Willa Reverly has watched her friends marry for love. Camberly may be the prize of the season, but she will not be "sold" to any man. She wants his devotion or she wants nothing at all.

When is a Marriage of Convenience inconvenient?

Newly named to the ducal title, Matthew Addison is determined to discover the secrets behind Mayfield, the bankrupt estate he has inherited. He doesn't have time to coddle a headstrong heiress who is determined to ditch him over something as silly as "love." Little does he know that his questions will place her in jeopardy. Now he must do what he must to save them both.

Could it be that in running from danger they might be racing headlong into a truly unexpected fate: falling in love?

    Recent reads ~

    — Vacant (Mindspace Investigations Book 4) by Alex Hughes; this is the fourth book in an urban fantasy series which I enjoyed.
    — The Stars Blue Yonder (The Outback Stars Book 3) by Sandra McDonald; this is from a series that must be read in order, so I do not recommend beginning with this book. I enjoyed the entire series which was an interesting blend of science fiction, fantasy, and some aborigine myth.
    — read and enjoyed the first book in a series by a favorite author: American Witch by Thea Harrison.
    — Skin and Bone (Digging Up Bones Book 2) by TA Moore which I enjoyed reading despite the bloodshed. This is a male/male romance.
    — a mystery that I enjoyed; admittedly, I did have a few quibbles.
The Scent of Murder (A Jazz Ramsey Mystery)
    — began but did not finish a book with a very curious storyline; it was a tad too weird for me! Larque on the Wing by Nancy Springer

Through the Fire by Katie Ruggle. I liked the slow build of the main characters’ relationship.

  5. Looks like some great books you have lined up here. I do like Kate Meader and need to work on her latest series for sure. I just read Rebel by Beverly Jenkins and it was SO SO GOOD!!!

Thanks to winning a Book Binge contest, I just finished Huge Deal by Lauren Layne. It was very good. The author announced she’s writing two more books in the series.

  7. Glenda M

I really enjoyed A Lady of True Distinction by Grace Burrowes and am enjoying Blow Me Away by Christina Hovland.

I couldn’t help but root for the characters in Jenny Colgan’s The Endless Beach.
