MR-New

Casee: I didn’t read many books in November. I only read five (most of them audio) and one of those was a reread (on audio). I just wasn’t into it. Add in the holidays and that wasn’t a good recipe for reading. I’m hoping December will be a better month.

Phoenix Unbound by Grace Draven (audiobook) | 4 out of 5
Rookie Move by Sarina Bowen (audiobook) | 2 out of 5
Archangel’s Heart by Nalini Singh (reread on audio) | 4.75 out of 5
Mornings on Main by Jodi Thomas | 2 out of 5
Archangel’s Prophecy by Nalini Singh (audiobook) | 4.25 out of 5

My favorite book in November was Archangel’s Heart and I don’t even care that it was a reread. I adore that book. Love it. I would marry it if I could. My least favorite, hands down, was Rookie Move by Sarina Bowen. Holy hell, the heroine of that book was horrific. I loved the hero which honestly made the whole thing worse.

Holly: I managed to read 25 books in November, but that’s mostly thanks to audiobooks. The amount of reading time I had was limited, but thankfully I was able to listen to a lot of books.

One More Time by Laurelin Page (Audiobook) | 3.25 out of 5
Goddess with a Blade (audiobook) (re-read) | 4 out of 5
Royally Hung by Anne Marsh | DNF
Coming Undone by Lauren Dane (Audiobook) (re-read) | 4.25 out of 5
Ache for You by J.T. Geissinger (Audiobook) | 1.5 out of 5
Sin and Chocolate by K.F. Breene (Audiobook) | 3.5 out of 5
Ain’t She a Peach by Molly Harper (Audiobook) | 3.75 out of 5
Save a Truck, Ride a Redneck by Molly Harper (Audiobook) | 4 out of 5
Sweet Tea and Sympathy by Molly Harper (Audiobook) | 3.75 out of 5
The Christmas Cottage by Samantha Chase (Audiobook) | 1 out of 5
Taking Chase by Lauren Dane (Audiobook) (reread) | 3.75 out of 5
Making Chase by Lauren Dane (Audiobook) (reread) | 3.5 out of 5
Chased by Lauren Dane (Audiobook) (Re-read) | 3.25 out of 5
The Restorer by Amanda Stevens (Audiobook) | DNF
Sleepover by Serena Bell | 3.5 out of 5
Silence Fallen by Patricia Briggs (Audiobook) (Re-Read) | 4.25 out of 5
Fire Touched by Patricia Briggs (Audiobook) (Re-read) | 4.5 out of 5
Night Broken by Patricia Briggs (Audiobook) (Re-read) | 3.75 out of 5
Frost Burned by Patricia Briggs (Audiobook) (Re-read) | 4 out of 5
Raven’s Shadow by Patricia Briggs (Audiobook) | DNF
Mornings on Main by Jodi Thomas | 3 out of 5
A Little Night Magic by Lucy March (Audiobook) | DNF
Complicated by Kristen Ashley (reread) | 4 out of 5
Sweet Dreams by Kristen Ashley (Reread) | 4 out of 5
The Gamble by Kristen Ashley (reread) | 3.5 out of 5

My favorite new read of the month was probably Save a Truck, Ride a Redneck. I actually really enjoyed the entire Southern Eclectic series by Molly Harper, but that was my favorite of them. My least favorite read was Ache for You by J.T. Geissinger. I haven’t hated a heroine that much in..maybe ever. You know things are bad when the idea of her falling down the stairs and breaking all her bones makes you giddy inside.

Rowena: November was a busy month for me. We have hella birthdays in my family (mine included) so we’re always singing happy birthday and eating cake with everyone and their Mom at my house. Then there was the Thanksgiving madness and my niece leaving for her mission madness because whenever my family gets together to celebrate something, it’s always madness. I only managed to get 12 books read and some of them drove me right up the wall.

Here’s what I read last month.

Sleepover by Serena Bell (eARC) | 4 out of 5
Highlander Most Wanted (Montgomery’s & Armstrongs #2) by Maya Banks (Audiobook) | 4.25 out of 5
Silver Borne (Mercy Thompson #5) by Patricia Briggs (eBook) | 4.25 out of 5
Wait for It by Mariana Zapata (eBook) | 4.5 out of 5
Archangel’s Blade (Guild Hunter #4) by Nalini Singh (Audiobook) | 3.25 out of 5
Mornings on Main by Jodi Thomas (eBook) | 3 out of 5
Fall (VIP #3) by Kristen Callihan (eBook) | 4.25 out of 5
My Best Friend’s Ex (Beta Brothers #1) by Hazel Kelly (eBook) | 3.5 out of 5
Friends with Benefits (Beta Brothers #2) by Hazel Kelly (eBook) | 4 out of 5
Save the Date by Carrie Aarons (eBook) | 2 out of 5
My Favorite Half Night Stand by Christina Lauren (eARC) | 4 out of 5
Ache for You (Slow Burn #3) by J.T. Geissinger (Audiobook) | 1 out of 5

My favorite read of the month goes to Wait for It by Mariana Zapata. I thought that book was well written and so much fun. I loved seeing Dallas fall in love with Diana and I adored Diana and her nephews. It was good to see all of the other characters from Zapata’s other books, especially Kulti. swoon

My least favorite read of the month goes to my last read, Ache for You by J.T. Geissinger. Holy cow, I wanted to throat punch the shit out of the heroine from beginning to end. She found every wrong conclusion to jump to and jumped. She jumped to so many conclusions that I was surprised she didn’t just jump right off a cliff. She completely ruined the book for me. I need a long break before I ever jump into another Geissinger book.

My favorite romance was Rebel Hard by Nalini Singh. My least favorite was probably Promise Me You by Marina Adair which was just okay for me. It had a great heroine, but both the hero and romance were underdeveloped.

worst book; didn’t like anything about it- Meet Your Baker by Ellie Alexander
Milk and Honey by Rupi Kaur was interesting

  3. Kareni

My favorite book of the month was Lyn Gala’s latest book: Expedition, Estimation, and Other Dangerous Pastimes. I can’t recall a least favorite book as I usually put them aside partially finished.

  4. JenM

My favorite was Diamond Fire by Ilona Andrews. I’m now desperate for the first full-length novel featuring Catalina. Plus, Ilona’s been teasing us with snippets on her blog! My least favorite was an inspirational romance called The Pastor Takes a Wife by Reshonda Tate Billingsley. I DNF’ed it 30 pages in but it had already featured homophobia, misogyny, slut-shaming and the worst kind of religious hypocrisy. It was a physical book, not a Kindle book, so I happily rage-pitched it against the wall.

My favorite was Nightshifted by Cassie Alexander. I liked Thea Harrison’s Dragon Bound, but not as much as the other books I read.
