What Are You Reading? (+ Christine Warren Giveaway)

WAYR-New

Casee: I’m still reading and listening to what I was reading and listening to last week. It’s very sad.

I’m reading Vengeance Road by Christine Feehan and listening to Archangel’s Prophecy by Nalini Singh. We have family in town so I don’t have high hopes for reading this weekend. Wish me luck.

Holly: I had a pretty lame reading week. I’m trying to get everything ready for the holidays, plus we celebrate 4 birthdays this week, so my attention was elsewhere. I finished listening to The Christmas Cottage by Samantha Chase. It was pretty awful. The heroine and her best friend were both immature dummy-heads and the whole premise of the wedding + cottage was lame. I only finished it because I wanted to know what would happen with the best friend and her wedding. I’m sorry I wasted my time. I re-read Complicated by Kristen Ashley, the listened to Save a Truck, Ride a Redneck and Sweet Tea and Sympathy by Molly Harper, which were really cute. I’m not usually one for super light paranormals or contemporaries, but Molly Harper is really working for me lately. Both this series and the Mystic Bayou series hit me in the sweet spot.

I’m currently listening to Ain’t She a Peach by Molly Harper. I’m not sure what I’m going to read next, or if I’ll even have time. Hopefully I’ll have all day Saturday to read. Fingers crossed.

Rowena: In the week since I last posted about what I was reading, I had planned to listen to Archangel’s Storm by Nalini Singh, and read Save the Date by Carrie Aarons and well, that didn’t happen. Instead, I picked up My Best Friend’s Ex by Hazel Kelly and Friends with Benefits by Hazel Kelly. I enjoyed both books, though I enjoyed Friends with Benefits more. Carter and Nina were a fantastic couple! Now, I’m reading Save the Date by Carrie Aarons and though the heroine is a little hard to take (I really don’t understand her motivations behind some of her decisions), I’m still enjoying the read. After this, I’ll be picking up River Marked by Patricia Briggs because I can’t stay away from Mercy’s world for too long. I’m on a mission to be all caught up on that series before the year ends. Wish me luck!

I’m actually re-ready a couple of JD Robb’s In Death books – it’s my 2nd pass thru the series – I pull out a book or 2 every few months

Over the past week, I read ~

    — Grace Draven’s fantasy romance Phoenix Unbound (The Fallen Empire Book 1) which I quite enjoyed. Now I’m wondering if the series will continue with more about the two major characters in this book (I think not) or whether secondary characters in this book will get their own books (I think so).
    — The Short Victorious War (Honor Harrington Book 3) and Field of Dishonor (Honor Harrington Book 4); these are military science ficiton by David Weber. The latter had me crying. This is a series that should be read in order. The first book On Basilisk Station (Honor Harrington Book 1) is currently free to Kindle readers.
    — went on to read Flag in Exile (Honor Harrington Book 5) and Honor Among Enemies (Honor Harrington Book 6)

  5. Does this mean anything? I heard wind chimes as though
they was in my living room with me.? My dog was like
my kid if you ask me so needing to place her
to rest was so hard I kept her until her last breath.
I miss her so much. have already been so
sad today my baby ( dog) of nearly 13 years needed to be put to
sleep I ve cried and cried. I dropped my mom 8 years
ago therefore i felt the discomfort and sadness.
Today I heard wind chimes as… display more Yes,
sometimes humans hallucinate with numerous senses. It isn’t that uncommon for the brain to misinterpret some
history sound, but it’s perfectly with the capacity of producing flawlessly convincing hallucinations out
of nothing, but you know that because you see it every
evening in your dreams. Or who understands, maybe there is a cat with a bell on its collar and just you had been close enough to listen to it.
There are many plausible real-globe explanations to eliminate before you
begin casting about for paranormal ones. . .
