WAYR-New

Casee: I finished Hidden by Rebecca Zanetti and really enjoyed it. I am now reading Order of Protection by Lexi Blake. After Rowena’s post about new releases she hasn’t read this year, I started thinking of what releases I haven’t read. I still can’t believe I haven’t read this book. I absolutely adore Lexi Blake. I haven’t met a Lexi book that I haven’t liked. I’m not very far in, but I can already tell it’s going to be a good book. Thankfully I have had a lot of reading time lately.

I’ve also been listening to Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets on audio. I can’t believe how much time I actually spend in the car. It’s the unabridged version, so it is a total of nine hours. O_o

Holly: This week I read Herons Landing and Snowfall on Lighthouse Lane by JoAnn Ross, the first two books in her new Honeymoon Harbor series. I liked them. The second book had a paranormal element I wasn’t expecting, but they were quick, light reads. I finished reading When a Duke Loves a Woman by Lorraine Heath, the second book in the Sins for All Seasons series. It was really good.

Tracy has been reading some of my favorite older Julie Garwood books for the first time and I ended up re-reading them with her. The Secret and Ransom were the ones I read this week. I’m currently reading Wild Hunger by Chloe Neill and listening to Getting Schooled by Emma Chase.

Rowena: This week was such a great reading week for me and I am finishing up my 23rd book of the month and I can’t remember if that’s ever happened to me before. I credit audiobooks for my spike in books read this month and it’s awesome.

I finished Wanderlust by Lauren Blakely which was a sweet romance and Richard Armitage read for the hero and swoon, his accent made my lady bits sit up and take notice. Yum. After finishing that, I read In Bed with a Highlander by Maya Banks (fabulous start to a series I so want to get back to), I listened to Kulti by Mariana Zapata which was another fabulous book and then I read Josh & Hazel’s Guide to Not Dating by Christina Lauren and loved that one. I read Getting Schooled by Emma Chase which was a cute second chance romance that I liked.

I’m finishing up Hot Winter Nights by Jill Shalvis and while it’s not my favorite Shalvis book or even favorite book in this series, it’s still a solid read. After this, I have three books lined up for the weekend. I will be reading For the Duke’s Eyes Only by Lenora Bell, Untamed by Pamela Clare, and Beyond the Night by Colleen Gleason. Happy reading, everyone!

Well Rowena did alright – a ton of books and her lady bits tingled by Richard Armitages dulcet tones 😀

I’m stuck at home since my body decided it really and truly hates me. I read Sally MacKensie’s Naked Nobility series, re-read Tessa Dare’s The Duchess Deal, and am halfway thru The Governess Game.

  5. You have all read such delicious books and authors here!!

Casee-I agree about Lexi Blake, I love everything she has written so far. And yeah the audiobooks for the Harry Potter series is so enjoyable to listen to.

Holly-I really enjoy the Secret and Ransom, so hope you had a fun time re reading those classics. I read Lorraine Heath’s new book as well and even though I liked it I struggled with the pacing at times.

Rowena-ooh….I love Richard Armitage’s voice, he definitely needs to do more romance novels for sure. I LOVE Maya Banks’ historicals, they are her best books. In Bed With A Highlander is so fabulous.

I’m just back from a camping trip. On the drive, my husband and I listened to The Oracle Year by Charles Soule and narrated by Charlie Thurston. Usually I fall asleep when we listen to an audiobook in the car; however, this is the third book that I’ve managed to listen to in its entirety. We had a good number of conversations about the book — some were of the what would you do? variety, others discussed inconsistencies in the storyline, while in others we made predictions of what might happen. This novel certainly helped us pass some twelve plus hours in a pleasant way.

    While camping I read:

    — the fantasy All the Paths of Shadow by Fred Tuttle
    — the contemporary romance A Girl Like Her: A Small Town Romance (Ravenswood Book 1) by Talia Hibbert (this features an autistic heroine)
    — the contemporary romance novella Apples Should Be Red by Penny Watson (this features a mature hero and heroine in their fifties/sixties)

    and shorter works:

    — The Sentinel by Eden Winters
    — First in Line by Annabeth Albert
    — Stranded with a Scotsman by Serenity Woods
    — Sightings by Kari Gregg
    — Persistence of Memory by J.M. Snyder

I’m reading Lynn Cahoon’s If The Shoe Kills. The town of South Cove seems so real; makes me want to visit.

I’m reading the companion to Deborah Harkness’ All Souls Trilogy. All the research & tidbits that have gone into the books is fascinating.

I just started The Good Chase by Hanna Martine, I read book 1 from this Highland Games series long time ago and have been meaning to read book 2 but since my TBR pile is humongous, I finally got around to it! LOL
