WAYR-New

Casee: I am in graduation mode right now and haven’t read a word this week other than my to-do list. I wish I could continue reading Claimed by Rebecca Zanetti because it’s so good. I really am loving this series.

Holly: I’m visiting Casee this week, so my reading time has been limited. I finished the Warrior Chronicles by K.F Breene. Invasion, Siege and Overtaken were the final three. I enjoyed the series as a whole. I really needed the kickass women vibe this week. After that I read Melt for You by J.T. Geissinger, the second book in the Slow Burn series. The heroine annoyed me toward the end, but it was a pretty good read overall. I loved the hero. I liked the first book, Burn for You, a bit better, and in fact reread it after I finished Melt for You.

Rowena: I’m on vacation this week so I was busy getting ready for my trip to really pick anything up. I did manage to finish Speakeasy by Sarina Bowen, which I really enjoyed. I’ve been seeing a bunch of people not loving the book or the hero, Alec but me? I freaking loved them both. Alec wasn’t the easiest hero to love but I did grow to love him and was completely sold on his love for May. I thought he proved himself to be a wonderful match for her. I loved seeing him grow up and not be so stubborn when it came to making his dreams come true. You really see the growth in his character so I really didn’t understand why people disliked him so much. May was May, I loved her too and really enjoyed seeing her come into her own. Her love for Alec warmed my heart and seeing them together made me happy. I couldn’t have asked for a better romance for them.

Right now, I’m finishing up Making Up by Lucy Parker which is another fabulous addition to Parker’s London Celebrities series and after this, I’ll be jumping into I Flipping Love You by Helena Hunting. Lots of great reading hours coming my way, woot!

Dear Lady Truelove,

I am a girl of noble family, but I am painfully shy, especially in my encounters with those of the opposite sex . . .

For Clara Deverill, standing in for the real Lady Truelove means dispensing advice on problems she herself has never managed to overcome. There’s nothing for it but to retreat to a tearoom and hope inspiration strikes between scones. It doesn’t—until Clara overhears a rake waxing eloquent on the art of “honorable” jilting. The cad may look like an Adonis, but he’s about to find himself on the wrong side of Lady Truelove.

Rex Galbraith is an heir with no plans to produce a spare. He flirts with the minimum number of eligible young ladies to humor his matchmaking aunt, but Clara is the first to ever catch his roving eye. When he realizes that Clara—as Lady Truelove—has used his advice as newspaper fodder, he’s infuriated. But when he’s forced into a secret alliance with her, he realizes he’s got a much bigger problem—because Clara is upending everything Rex thought he knew about women—and about himself. . . .

    Some recent reads ~

    — Elizabeth Moon’s Once A Hero which I quite enjoyed. According to Amazon, this falls into the category of military science fiction.
    — Katharine Ashe’s historical romance The Prince: A Devil’s Duke Novel; this featured a prince in hiding and a young woman, in disguise, studying to be a surgeon. Both characters had issues (he was missing part of his leg, she had what I think we’d now describe as anxiety and OCD). It was an enjoyable read.
    — re-read Lyn Gala’s Prelude to Claimings, Tails, and Other Alien Artifacts; Claimings, Tails, and Other Alien Artifacts; Assimilation, Love, and Other Human Oddities; and Affiliations, Aliens, and Other Profitable Pursuits. These are male/male romances that feature an alien as one of the main characters. They are favorites.
    — also re-read Cooper West’s  Rescued: A “Parker’s Sanctuary” Story (this is currently free to Kindle readers);
    Parker’s Sanctuary; Rescued: A Parker’s Sanctuary Story; and am almost finished with The Protector.
